How come Americans couldn't care less about the 9/11 attacks anymore?

I never considered all the holes in the government's report about what happened for two reasons:

1. It's the government. Lying is what they do.
2. None of these contradictions have been resolved.

I am beginning to come to a realization that there are no such things as conspiracy theories, there are only theories. Either true or false. Putting a adjective in front of 'theory' is designed to ostracize opposition. There is a small minority of people who seem to give a **** that it is plausible for the attack to be an inside job from our government. The theories hold. They have not been debunked.

Society has been so brainwashed, that they genuinely believe calling people who investigate these attacks  'whacks' or 'nut cases' in itself, is enough to negate the information they present. I hate Americans.

Why are you not up in arms about Occupy Wall Street? Why do you not post about something that happened in 1988? Answer... it is in the past and as more time goes by.. we pay less and less attention to that event. The mental jar is only so big and if you keep adding marbles to it..you have to make room for new information therefore the past gets de-prioritized.

Occupy Wallstreet or any other protest didn't result in thousands of deaths. Which also started years long wars. 9/11 didn't just kill 3k Americans. It brought us into 20 yr long war that accounted for hundreds of thousands in the Middle East. No different as to why we still care about Pearl Harbor. It lead us in WWII. However, 9/11 doesn't seem to matter as much.

The point is that it is human nature for past events to fade in importance as time goes on. Deny it all you want but you know this to be the truth. The context is unimportant. Ask someone who is 21 right now about WWII.. will you get the same impassioned response as you would from someone who is 75? No, you would not.

But most of us are still alive. It was only in 2021. The Millennials, Gen X, and Boomers are still around. Most people have died since WWII.

And someone born in 2004 is going to be as impassioned as you are about this topic?

You fight basic human nature. I guess have fun with this pursuit. You may as well want folks to never get wrinkled skin as they age. As time goes on.. the past becomes ever more distant and less of a priority.

Not as much. But what about everyone else? I know we forget. However, it really wasn't that long ago. Especially since the withdrawal, from its effect, only happened 2 years ago.

ok, so you admit that we forget. That's a good start. It was 22 years ago and in our current state of information overload.. you honestly expect this one event to survive in one's mind? Yes, I know you are unique in that you think about this every day and never let it go. However, think about average Joe.. Between kids, work, daily commute, sports, music, this product, that product.. they are exposed to vastly more information than someone in 1977 was.. and yet they are supposed to keep this one event fresh in their mind amidst all of that?

LOL. Yes, IO. I am unique. Okay, whatever.  You still didn't address my points.
1. It wasn't that long ago.
2. We are still living with the aftereffects. Not all is in the past.
3. Do you have a timeframe where we should forget?

1. 22 years is long enough for it to not be the first thing on someone's mind.
2. What percent of our population can tangibly see the aftereffects in their daily existence. Now, no being philosophical. Average Jane, 22 years old, that is the cashier at the AM/PM on College Boulevard in Henderson.. when she gets up at 630 am and drives to work. what parts of her existence could she point to and say, "That is due to 9/11 and nothing else". Examples would be the quality of the roads, number of cars on the road, the temperature, her manager wanting her to take the swing shift, etc?

Well, I applaud your dedication. Not sure you will ever get what you want. Believe it or not.. my one big issue in politics is being fiscally conservative. i would be overjoyed if folks would start demanding that their politicians not keep using the proverbial credit card. However, I know that I am talking to deaf ears. Nobody really wants this. A government that let unfortunate but inevitable things happen and did not come to the rescue would get voted out.

The public's distrust and  affront to conspiracy theory started in 2000 when Y2K never materialized .....

1. The war only ended 2 years ago. Not 200.
2. Actually, by observing the current political climate, that isn't true. People have grown more distrustful of the government over the past couple decades. If they wanted to substantiate their distrust, then why not start with the 9/11 attacks?

9/11 occurred on sept 11, 2001.. sorry about that was 22 years ago. 99% of most individuals did not end up in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. Therefore, their exposure to this was via the news. I know that you fight human nature but after day after day of hearing about x news story in Iraq (10,000 miles away), you start putting it on the back burner. Average Jane who did not serve in the military nor had family there is not going to keep pushing it to the front of her vehicle in the midst of a barrage of other information that is tangible to her actual, present day living.

It isn't about the attacks as much as it is about the plausibility of it being an inside job. It is plausible. Very plausible. Why should be people stop caring about that just because time has elapsed. It's not like it's a "Who planned the JFK assassination" kind of issue. This is why I made this OP. It's about asking why Americans don't care that they have a government who has no issue with killing us.

I don't want to be applauded. I just want to know why Americans don't care that their government couldn't care less about killing them. How is that unreasonable?

Ok, understood. Still, its been 20 years since this was the lead story in the news. One is going to start de-prioritizing it. I know that it is a hard pill for you to swallow.

As for conspiracy theories.. I do not buy into any of them no matter who puts them out there. It is not a matter of being a liberal or conservative. Maybe it is a flaw.. maybe not but my **** detection meter always is on high. As for why you are met with resistance when you try to convince someone  that it was an inside job (conspiracy theory).. it all comes back to folks having deprioritized this story and not wanting to take the time and energy to take a deep dive.
