Local GOP politician resigned after police found him passed out in his car holding what appeared to be a crack pipe (msn.com)

A Republican politician has resigned after police found him passed out in his car with a crack pipe in his hand. Reilly faced calls to resign after police said they found him in a parked SUV at around 11:30 a.m. on Monday with two crack pipes and a "white, rock-like substance," which it said was consistent with crack cocaine.Police tested the substance at the scene and said it was positive for cocaine and fentanyl, the local newspaper reported, citing a police report.
The report also said that Reilly "appeared to be sleeping or unconscious while having difficulty breathing/choking," adding that an officer opened the door and shook him to wake him up.
Reilly claiming he was choking because he has sleep apnea.
"You have a crack pipe in your hand," one police officer responded, according to the bodycam footage. Rescue personnel said he was stable and hadn't overdosed, the newspaper added.In the footage, Reilly, who is an attorney, said he had a relapse after 13 years of being sober following a bad divorce.He has been charged with possession of a controlled narcotic and is scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment hearing in June.

He was a city councilman somewhere in Rhode Island.

At least he resigned... a Democrat would have run for re-election with the party's blessing and probably won by a landslide.

Small town council members aren't exactly influencing National or even State level policy... and even at that, a Republican from Rhode Island is probably more liberal by definition than the majority of the progressive Democrats in DC anyway.

There is a YouTube video of the guy getting busted that I watched the day before your post here. Seems like a nice enough fella, just dealing with addiction.

The clip is about 9 minutes long, but it shows pretty much start to finish of the episode.

He told the cops he had been sober for over a decade prior to recently relapsing due to going through a nasty divorce.

A "GOP politician", who is a city council member in Rhode Island?  Is like a NOTHING !! 

I live in California, and Democrat Politicians at that live out here are EXPOSED in ALL SORTS of CORRUPTION, DEBAUCHERY, and PERVERSION !!  The difference is...

1)  Democrats?  THEIR machine pays people off to look the other way, pays off the victims to drop cases, and CONTROL the media to PREVENT the stories from EVER seeing the light of day !

2)  Republicans? THEY say... "GOOD Riddance" !
