They buy their product from corporate the same way the retailers buy from them, so once it's in their warehouse, it's their product to sell or eat.
The distributors are starting to push back, but it may be too late for the ones that rely heavily on the AB brands for their survival... like this one
https://nypost.com/2023/05/23/bud-light ... -mulvaney/
I worked for the distributor in this article many moons ago, back when they were strictly an AB distributor, and at the time they probably realized half or more of their sales from Bud and Bud Light. Steve Tatum is actually the guy that hired me way back then.
I can guarantee without a doubt that this is crushing their sales. It pretty sad too because they are a really good group of hard working guys that never asked for this ****.
Everyone I'm still in touch with in the business felt like InBev buying the AB brand was a bad turn for the distributors, but they just had to deal with it just the same.
I personally think Bud Light as a brand is finished, and even Budweiser itself will never be what it once was. This crap clearly lays on the CEO of AB/InBev. To him, it's just one brand, but to certain distributors, it's their livelihood.
Some really decent hard working people have made careers out of selling AB products, only to now see it circling the drain because of a boneheaded move by an idiot in corporate.

I wouldn't make any big announcement about it, other than "we will be cutting back production of Bud Light substantially in the coming months".
The reason I wouldn't just scrap it is because I would be focused on saving the Budweiser brand. If you just scrap Bud Light, the "Conservatives" will go after Budweiser. So, I'd sacrifice Bud-Light to save Budweiser.
Then, I'd introduce a new light beer - call it Wizer Light or Wize Light. Switch up the calories a bit, come up with some traditional looking packaging. Of course, this may flop as bad as "New Coke" did. But, I'd only bring limited amounts to market. Then, 2-7 years from now, I would bring back Bud Light - again, at first in limited quantities.
If the CEO genuinely wanted to save Budweiser it would sell the company off to Miller Brewing or an new investment group.
Maybe the Distributors could all get together and buy it.Kobia2 » 23 May 2023, 4:21 pm » wrote: ↑ " If the CEO genuinely wanted to save Budweiser it would sell the company off to Miller Brewing or an new investment group. "
This might be their best move.....
Get Anheuser Busch into the hands of new ownership -- preferably American, or even better an employee buyout....
Sort of like when the Sporting Goods company AMF owned & nearly destroyed Harley Davidson ---- the Company was bought back by Employees and other investors and they were able to save the business and Brand...
I bet that has been discussed ... Those are the people who are the legit victims in all this --- they've seen the value of their AB Distributorship Franchises tank through absolutely no fault of their own --- their employees such as warehouse personnel, sales & office staff, delivery truck drivers etc are also paying a heavy price for some woke asshole's incompetence & ignorance. ..
I found this story pretty interesting.

Perhaps. But, the Bud Light Tranny Beer was not AB-InBev's first go at embracing the homosexual political agenda. Budweiser went all in with supporting Gay Pride. While this was largely ignored by the general public, it should not have been ignored by the Distributors. Did they speak up to the InBev? Doubtfully. Did they see the handwriting on the wall, that this Brazilian-Belgian owned company was going to go full-on woke and queer? They sure should have. This **** has been building up since AB was bought out by its current foreign owners. I can't imagine the Distributors were completely oblivious to this.Kobia2 » 23 May 2023, 4:41 pm » wrote: ↑ I bet that has been discussed ... Dang! You're really on top of this - impressive. Both articles were interesting reads and at least let us know that AB-InBev has the wherewithal to sell a brand that is no longer adding much to their bottom line. Could be a road-map of things to come. I'd love to see AB sold off and go private again, hopefully under American ownership.RedheadedStranger » 23 May 2023, 4:53 pm » wrote: ↑ I found this story pretty interesting.

It seems that InBev is starting to rethink some of their craft beer acquisitions.

I'm sorry. That is just to funny. On-***-Is.
Except, let's not forget that it was A-B executives,Alissa Heinerscheid and Daniel Blake who spearheaded this campaign. Heinerscheid told Kristin Twinford that her "mandate" when she joined Bud Light was to move away from its "fratty" image and attract young drinkers. One of her key strategies to achieve this was "inclusivity." Inclusivity is just a woke buzzword for homosexuals, trannies and other sexual deviants.Kobia2 » 24 May 2023, 12:45 pm » wrote: ↑
What has been made clear is there was a serious disconnect between AB and InBev when it came to marketing direction ---- specifically in the US.... American Beer drinkers don't want **** Rainbows on their bottles, or Trannys on the can.. It is a political endorsement of the Homo agenda, and mentally defective & deviant Transvestite lifestyle.. I've no doubt that such is the norm & embraced in InBev's foreign markets -- but not here, not now, not ever... And I agree with you --- once the tip of *** iceberg was spotted, it should have been all-hands on deck -- long before the InBev assholes and their like-minded American counterparts in upper AB management decided to hang such a controversial issue on the Brand, with no **** offramp if **** went sideways...
That's why I said InBev's Like-Minded American counterparts... Alissa Heinerscheid and Daniel Blake were certainly the woke idiots driving the Tranny Train on the Mulvaney disaster, but as a former Sr AB Exec said, it is unfathomable that top Mgt were oblivious to this marketing campaign & strategy... They knew, and approved... I've little doubt people on InBev's end were also aware of the marketing direction, and encouraged it.. The post-Busch family AB senior leadership (including their woke CEO) is as much responsible for this colossal failure as InBev.Skans » 24 May 2023, 1:02 pm » wrote: ↑Except, let's not forget that it was A-B executives,Alissa Heinerscheid and Daniel Blake who spearheaded this campaign.
