Very simple, forgive it, without forgetting how it was established to sustain an eternal debt of gratitude to malcontents inventing human rights to ignore how evolving actually happens in plain sight and get repaid by owning intellectual property rights to laws ordering compliance or else be removed from humanity in limitless ways and means by white light or black market forces..

Forgiving the debt would mean not paying interest on the country's bonds or returning the capital loaned, which would be a disaster to the global financial system.

The issue is that the tax structure is flawed. The ultra rich do not pay their fair share.

No, it is not a blank check.
Congress, not the president, decides how money will be spent.
What they are voting on is paying for goods and services already received.

Trump asked for this THREE TIMES in four years. One quarter of the debt was incurred during the Trump's presidency.
The US government has been in debt for all of its entire history, except for four years.
That was when Andrew Jackson forced the five civilized tribes off land they had settled on and sold that land for $1.25 an acre.

It is NOT TRUE that taxes cannot pay off the debt, Taxes are the only source of revenue that the government receives.

When those responsible for a balanced budget over spend revenues of every annual budget, the national debt is never paid off and increases every continuing resolution raising the debt ceiling.

I grew up second generation of depression survivors that were trained how to economically rob Peter to pay Paul trading away the substance of living for life protecting symbolic values until extinction event arrives.

This is simplistic.
This is not what she meant. She meant that if you divided the number of citizens & taxpayers into the National Dept, that would be their share.
However, it does NOT mean that we owe the government this amount.

Unless a person is incapacitated, they cannot sign up to receive Social Security until they are 62.
The official expected age is 67½.
