An email is all they need.  From that they can get together with the provider, in most cases, and find out all they need to know.   Don't you know that selling individual profiles is a big business?   How could you have missed that?   It's all perfectly legal but that is not my complaint.  My complaint is about the lack of being open and honest about their business practices.  That is why I use the word "con".

As I have stated several times, registration is not required to upload pictures to their site. No email or personal info of any kind is required... at least not for me. Maybe it's different for you with the VPN, but they have never had my email or name, and I have been using them literally for years with no ill effects.

You've provided more personal info to the owner of this site to post here than you would have to share with postimages to host a picture after the fact, which is none.

Your stance is just a bit illogical to me is all. You keep saying you don't want to provide something that they aren't even asking for in the first place. The reasons you are giving for not wanting to use postimages should be keeping you away from this site as well, and off the internet in general for the most part. 

The cookies are how they market adverts through your IP, so your VPN and ad blocker should knock those down anyway... and 99.9% of websites on the internet use cookies.

I'm not shilling for postimages at all here either, it's just that your position doesn't make much sense in the grand scheme of things. No offense meant.

I haven't been snappy at all. I'm just pointing out that your position is illogical. Sorry if you took that as a slight.

I have to ask, why would voluntarily register, give your email to, and use a site like this forum that doesn't even have a privacy policy, and then balk at using one that not only has a privacy statement, but doesn't require registration or an email to use?

By your logic, you shouldn't be posting here either.

We all have differing ideas about what is logical and what is not.  Don't you allow for this?   There is not single truth that fits all.  

Instead of fighting me as you seem to want to do in never ending fashion, go to the two websites in question and ask they what there business relationship is.  What you discover will enlighten you.   When two businesses get together in an arrangement.... never is the quesion of money left out.  

Are you really so naive as to think that two websites can have an arrangement just because they do each other favors?   Wow!!!!

That is because about a decade ago the software managing access to cyberspace demanded everyone use a 3rd party storage to save pictures allowed on message boards. another 3-5 years later they did it again.

In the summer of 1969 I started a little tech school teaching computer programming, and I lost interest in that career because I couldn't stick to flow chart mentality after 6 months. Plus I didn't like the hours required to be dedicated to flow chart lifestyles. Liked evolving more than living a programmed social order. At that time I could never explain it. took another 35 years to figure out what humanity did to my own ancestry as well as everyone else's.

Anyway, I use 3 message boards and all three have a different way to post pictures. Have fun figuring it out. I use Postimages.o__ for this site. Even they changed formats 5 years ago or more. Gravatar.c__ was another one I had to use for another site.
