As I have stated several times, registration is not required to upload pictures to their site. No email or personal info of any kind is required... at least not for me. Maybe it's different for you with the VPN, but they have never had my email or name, and I have been using them literally for years with no ill effects.Varnaj42 » 30 May 2023, 2:45 pm » wrote: ↑ An email is all they need. And now we are at the crossroads. Are you correct or am I? This is the problem of our times. I have an idea, since we will never agree, how about we leave each other alone? You can think what you want and I will think what I want. Will you also argue against this idea or will you insist on having the last word? OK. Go ahead. Give me one last snappy comeback. I won't read it.RedheadedStranger » 30 May 2023, 3:10 pm » wrote: ↑ As I have stated several times, registration is not required to upload pictures to their site. You've provided more personal info to the owner of this site to post here than you would have to share with postimages to host a picture after the fact, which is none.
Your stance is just a bit illogical to me is all. You keep saying you don't want to provide something that they aren't even asking for in the first place. The reasons you are giving for not wanting to use postimages should be keeping you away from this site as well, and off the internet in general for the most part.
The cookies are how they market adverts through your IP, so your VPN and ad blocker should knock those down anyway... and 99.9% of websites on the internet use cookies.
I'm not shilling for postimages at all here either, it's just that your position doesn't make much sense in the grand scheme of things. No offense meant.

I haven't been snappy at all. I'm just pointing out that your position is illogical. Sorry if you took that as a slight.Varnaj42 » 30 May 2023, 3:32 pm » wrote: ↑ And now we are at the crossroads. He's getting snappy isn't he?
it's not a big deal?
We all have differing ideas about what is logical and what is not. Don't you allow for this? There is not single truth that fits all.RedheadedStranger » 30 May 2023, 3:38 pm » wrote: ↑ I haven't been snappy at all. I'm just pointing out that your position is illogical. I have to ask, why would voluntarily register, give your email to, and use a site like this forum that doesn't even have a privacy policy, and then balk at using one that not only has a privacy statement, but doesn't require registration or an email to use?
By your logic, you shouldn't be posting here either.
Once again, my apologies for pointing that out.
Good day sir.
Not sure why you see this as a "fight", because I certainly don't.Varnaj42 » 30 May 2023, 4:06 pm » wrote: ↑ We all have differing ideas about what is logical and what is not. Don't you allow for this? There is not single truth that fits all.
Instead of fighting me as you seem to want to do in never ending fashion, go to the two websites in question and ask they what there business relationship is. What you discover will enlighten you. When two businesses get together in an arrangement.... never is the quesion of money left out.
Are you really so naive as to think that two websites can have an arrangement just because they do each other favors? Wow!!!!

I'm just trying to understand why you would willingly register, give information to, and utilize one site that doesn't offer any explanation whatsoever as to how they may or may not use the info you provided... while balking at using one that doesn't require registration or personal info, and fully explains as a matter of policy how they would handle said info if you were t offer it.
It seems to me that your issue is more with the owner of this site possibly generating revenue off of his own website without your blessing or something.
Even if the owner was getting paid for you posting pictures here through some sort of agreement with a third party host, how in the world does that equate to him "conning" you out of anything? Are you expecting a cut or something?
It's odd to say the least.
That is because about a decade ago the software managing access to cyberspace demanded everyone use a 3rd party storage to save pictures allowed on message boards. another 3-5 years later they did it again.Varnaj42 » 26 May 2023, 4:17 pm » wrote: ↑ I use a generic avatar because I cannot find a way to upload a .jpg or .png from my computer hard drive. Thanks....

I stand behind that statement... it may be computer stuff - we don't understand! That's ridiculous and suspicious.... management here has defended me- time and time again. silly.
