Progressives are pushing to stop landlords from being able to conduct criminal background checks on prospective tenants before leasing their property.A new bill introduced by "Squad" members Reps. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., and Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., would stop consumer reporting agencies from including criminal history information on reports that are now used to screen potential renters.It also calls for stripping consumer reports of criminal convictions that are more than seven years old, and creates a new "national standard" for criminal information not included in such reports, among other provisions.

Here's the deal. Just screen for income stability and steady employment over 7 years. Obviously, if they were in prison, they weren't working.

OOOO! I have a horror story about being a landlord.
I was left a house.. When my ol man died. Two weeks into it- the renter claimed he got hurt! yea right. scamster-
He refused to let anyone into see. As if i didnt have enough going on then?
He sat there for 3 years. Couldn't get him out COVID! and Bidens policies.
so- I ended up losing that house. voluntary foreclosure. I have my own house to pay for!
even tho I was paying for a mortgage for awhile- with homeowners included. The minute he died. There was no home owners.. he tried that thru homeowners!
Then he tried probate. LOL
He tried a lawyer.
then when the bank was kicking him out.. He went to some gubmint agency- more lawyers-begging to halp him. lol
we come out smelling like a rose. outta sheer stupidity- really
hahahahahaha
