I kinda believe the same way.........to a point.
Suppose they decide we don't need to get their supply tho and wage a little war.
We're way behind the eight ball.

Hyperbole people of character believe to their grave, but there is a catch, it is just a literal truth with incomplete data as evidence. But thank goodness democracy bypasses physical absolutes in kinetic timing of evolving forward here.

they supply more than rare earth minerals and rare earth minerals are used in other things also.
It's also kinda of how I feel about oil supplies.......let the world supply us until they run out.
But, I've come to believe the Earth MAKES oil, so it won't run out.
Then there's the question; will America survive until the US supply is needed?

Here's the deal.  Eventually, a compound will be engineered which is cheaper, more efficient and easier to obtain than lithium.  Chemists have Sodium, Potassium and Cesium to play with, in addition to nickel, copper, silver, carbon, silicon and many other elements which in various forms are capable of storing energy.

Same goes for Platinum, Palladium and Rhodium.  I have no doubt that some nickel-based alloy will be developed to work in the same manner as the rarer metals. Elements are "low-hanging fruit" utilized by still-unsophisticated beings such as ourselves.

Optics and vision are two separate categories. Best example is looking and seeing. Looking is an action, seeing is an interpretation. Listening and hearing same thing. Touching and feeling are two separate responses. Taste and smell.

Your brain processes all those instantly and separately but a mind only debates one talking point at a time. Evolving is an ongoing series parallel process where governing tomorrow's results to arrive here now is misrepresentation f evolving forward as actually working in plain sight chromosomes compounding change the active population never exceeding being alive now.

Thermodynamics explains everything in real time life exists between events of erosion and decomposing corpses. Academics, arts, economics, politics, religions, social consensus won't regardless the social narrative leading people to never accept their natural time adapting is space here.

Never was money being the root of all evil live. As devil lived in details of maybe anything else did it.
