I read one CDC report that says about 77% of Americans have Covid Antibodies from at least one prior infection.  I haven't read anything further about ANYONE getting Covid.  Seems like that virus is gone....for now.

What happened is the population of the USA has reached herd immunity levels.

Either you were sane and sensible and got your shots, or MAGA and didn’t and got Covid (I’ve known MAGAS that claim five bouts of Covid, and Ivermectin cured it each time).

And either from shots or stubbornness, 96% or more of us have antibodies.

The honest tragedy was, that about twice as many Republicans died of Covid as Democrats and it was absolutely needless and because they feared shots more than Covid.

Our little county lost 42 boys in World War Two.  They all have a photo on the wall in the courthouse.

We lost 54 Republicans to Covid, all of them old enough to know better.

A lot of them were my friends, who took the wrong way at life’s crossroads.

We all believed in science, personal responsibility, and public health back when we were kids.

Nobody was raised up MAGA.

It’s a bad choice.

A good point is made that a small number of people still die from Covid.

By the odds, those would be extremely lucky MAGAS who somehow escaped infection earlier  making contact with another Covid infected MAGA.

It’s easy to write those off as natural selection, except they’ll keep a pool of Covid in circulation for years to come.

All my life I’ve been fascinated with the 1918 flu pandemic 

And just like Covid 19, there was a day somewhere in 1920 that it just simply vanished down into insignificance.

They quit keeping records.

They quit studying it.

They never mentioned it in newspapers.

Then later, researchers could not find a single sample of it to study.

It might have been the entire world, every soul, contracted the 1918 flu.

Because it utterly went away.

I doubt that will happen with Covid, but who can say?
