I still say Trump hurt his own chances with his antics (Twitter, etc), which played right into the hands of Democrats. The other thing Trump failed at was forming a strong, loyal, cohesive administration that worked solely on (not against) his agenda items.RedheadedStranger » 06 Jul 2023, 7:15 am » wrote: ↑ COVID was a tactic to keep Trump from having a second term in the WH because the Dems had effectively been neutered at that point.
Without COVID, no Democrat would have stood a chance at beating Trump in 2020. I knew this in early 2020 when talk of this mysterious Chinese respiratory illness started circulating. My wife will tell you that my comment before they ever started talking about lockdowns was that this was more about the election than anything else.
Sure the social experiment was carried out on a global scale to see how compliant the masses were, but in this Country it was a prime opportunity to implement our own internal color revolution, which is exactly what they did.
Nice try....razoo » 06 Jul 2023, 6:10 am » wrote: ↑ How long does COVID last?
Mild or moderate COVID-19 lasts about two weeks for most people. But others experience lingering health problems even after the fever and cough go away and they are no longer testing positive for the illness.
Parker notes that the World Health Organization has developed a definition for post-COVID-19 condition (the WHO’s term for long COVID) as coronavirus symptoms that persist or return three months after a person becomes ill from infection with SARS CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. Those symptoms can include:The symptoms can come and go, but have an impact on the person’s everyday functioning, and cannot be explained by another health problem.
- Fatigue
- Shortness of breath
- Cognitive problems (thinking and memory)
What causes post-COVID syndrome? While it’s clear that people with certain risk factors (including high blood pressure, smoking, diabetes, obesity and other conditions) are more likely to have a serious bout of COVID-19, there isn’t a clear link between these risk factors and long-term problems.
In fact, long COVID can happen in people who have mild symptoms, although patients with more severe initial illness seem to be more likely to have long-term impairments.More studies will shed light on why these stubborn health problems persist in some people.
What causes symptoms in COVID long haulers?SARS-CoV-2 can attack the body in a range of ways, causing damage to the lungs, heart, nervous system, kidneys, liver and other organs. Mental health problems can arise from grief and loss, unresolved pain or fatigue, or from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Doctors are seeing a spectrum of symptoms after acute COVID-19, some of which would be expected after other critical illnesses. Some are minor, but other people may need continuing care and even readmission to the hospital.
Similar, lingering problems can affect patients with other serious illnesses. But it is notable that post-COVID-19 syndrome is not just afflicting people who were very sick with the coronavirus: Some patients who were never severely ill with COVID-19 are experiencing long-term symptoms.
Do COVID vaccines prevent long COVID?Getting vaccinated for COVID-19 lowers the risks of COVID infection. While breakthrough infections are possible, being fully vaccinated and boosted is effective in reducing the risk of hospitalization and death due to COVID. Research is ongoing about how long COVID affects people who had breakthrough COVID, but it is likely that being vaccinated reduces the risk.

As for Covid, a new wave is expected in the fall.

I say these MAGA worshippers are vaccinated in spite of rhetoric to the contrary. If MAGA worshippers keep following Trump lies who is in fact vaccinated then more MAGA and ALEC voters will die. Thus MAGA and ALEC will need to push more voter suppression on America otherwise they cannot possibly win elections.
Yes Trump is vaccinated.
Once again COVID19 and Variants are still alive and getting around. Older folks will still have a tough time with it. Many other countries still have COVID 19 problems .............
Our home is vaccinated ............and our vitamin supplement intake are up some. Just like COVID is all around us.
When we go indoors anywhere we wear masks. If I forget I stay away from other people...............
This "common cold" will carry off more legions of Trump voters, happily.Majik » 06 Jul 2023, 7:48 am » wrote: ↑ Yeah, it's called the common cold .....

Many states have partisan primary voter registrations.

What paper Bruce?
The local paper said the deaths were from Covid? Did it mention any comorbidities? How about race? Age?Bruce » 06 Jul 2023, 8:56 am » wrote: ↑ Locally this country voted 80% Trump
The local paper runs obituaries.
54 of 54 Covid deaths were Republicans.
I’m certain a few Democrats got Covid, but none died and none admitted it.
There are two funeral homes in town.neueregel » 06 Jul 2023, 9:56 am » wrote: ↑ The local paper said the deaths were from Covid? Did it mention any comorbidities? How about race? Age?
Democrats were the original vaccine skeptics.Bruce » 06 Jul 2023, 10:14 am » wrote: ↑ There are two funeral homes in town.
The paper is published on Wednesday.
But when somebody dies, the first news is the funeral home puts their name on a marquee sign outside, and we call each other or use social media to see why they died.
Only a dozen or so local Republicans died of Covid before the vaccines. Remember, the town is 80% Republicans.
The Democrats are either college educated or belong to the Disciples of Christ Church, usually both. Democrats here are not liberals.
The last Covid death was a former Disciple who’d quit the church, over a female minister. His social media had Anti Vax and pro Trump **** plastered all over.
MAGA is by far, the evilest thing that’s happened to good people in my lifetime.
I was part of his wedding party, almost forty years ago.
