Once upon a time, when I was married, with a child, and a mother still living, I went to a vile, low down dive of a honky tonk on the banks of the Osage River, at Taberville.

I went outside for some fresh air with a fishing buddy, and while we stood there a young woman ran outside, with a low bred, slug looking man pushing her, calling her a whore, back handing her, as she was crying.

And I thought, I can’t watch this much longer, but my dear wife and child, and my mother’s face burned deep in my mind, should they find out where I was.

Just then a young guy came out the door, saw the scene, and said

Hey, leave that girl alone!

Whereupon the two men started fighting and the girl started stomping on her would be savior, until he got up and said let him do whatever he wants to you, I’m going home.

That pastor was a long ways from his church on January 6. 2021 taking his son around a bunch of MAGAS storming the Capitol to kill Mike Pence.

I don’t feel much like trying to save ‘em, you know?
