Considering the "social significance" and legendary fame of this band,
why is it I can actually only name one single song they ever did?
That waaaay over-played "Truckin" **** song...

I have always thought that the grateful dead (and its modern day counterpart, Phish) to be vastly overrated. 30 minute long free form guitar solos bore me.. but then on the other hand I stay sober at concerts. I like to remember the show and then also do not have to use the bathroom nearly as often.

Back in the late 70's I walked out of a Dead show.... 2 buddies of mine were Deads and talked me into going with them..
I lasted about 30 minutes and even on a couple hits of Window-Pane, I almost fell into a boredom induced coma... It worked out though ... This show was at New Haven Coliseum in CT, and on my walk back to the train station I saw some other friends who just arrived on the train and were going to see the Ramones at a local club called Toads Place --- I went and had a blast... Ramones were the best Punk / Garage Band ever.
