I get it, there's some sort of YouTube algorithmic formula that supposedly helps YouTubers get more views.  But, it makes many would-be good videos suck. Since many of you here just post YouTube (or worse yet, Twitter) videos as the only content to support your topics, I'm going to take this prime opportunity to bitch about these videos.  So, here's my short-list of what I can't stand about most YouTube videos:
  • Shaky cameras - This is a "no-go" for me.  If the camera is shaking all over the place, making me sea-sick, I shut it right off.
  • Ramblers - Prepare what you are going to say, because those who don't ramble way off topic and repeat **** over and over and over.
  • 10-best, 10-worst, etc.  I'm sick of this ****.  Maybe 2 of the things listed are mildly interesting, while the other 8 are obvious and moronic.  Just spit out the important stuff, and leave the obvious crap out.  If you say the #8 thing your dog doesn't like is getting its tail pulled, I'm giving you an F-ing "thumbs downs".
  • Pointless interviews.  If you are going to do an interview, explain in 10 seconds what I can expect to get out of it, and then hurry your guest along.
  • Lengthy dead spots.  Don't make a ballistics video and make me sit through you loading and aiming the gun for what seems like a year.  Edit this dead **** out!  Also, other than taking a couple of shots from your new gun, no one wants to watch you slow-fire 30 rounds at a paper target - STOP IT, you're boring me to tears!
  • Infomercial - You know that I'm going to fast forward through your lame-*** infomercial at the beginning, so DON'T DO IT. I already have to sit through 2 ****, repetitive commercials just to watch your video, then you want me to watch 5 minutes of your stupid infomercial -  click...
  • Banter.  Dude, you're not funny, just give me the info and the video, and move the video along.
  • Fluff - don't load your 3-minute videos (which would be great if only 3-minutes) with 7 minutes of stupid fluff just to get it to algorithmic-nirvana of 10 minutes.
  • Lengthy Intros - STOP with the lengthy intros that drone on and on - ESPECIALLY YOU LONG-WINDED BRITS.
  • Cockney Accents - F-ING SPEAK THE KING'S ENGLISH, or make it a silent video.  Your gutter Cockney Accents are like tiny shards of unintelligible glass piercing my eardrums.
Well, that's it - yes, it came to 10, but I didn't count them until I was done - AND THAT'S HOW IT SHOULD BE!!!

While I'll probably regret admitting this, I have no idea who Jimmy Dore is.

He is a left wing bernie bro comedian and podcaster who got the living **** red-pilled out of him when he had an adverse reaction to the vax and was subsequently e-ssassinated by his political bedmates for mentioning it.

He now calls **** on the left, using their own stated positions against them on a regular basis, very often in a manner that is what we in the world of professional rassling call a thunderslam or a thumbplex.

It's the thumb that separates us from the lower animals. You can't even hitch a ride or rate a movie without thumbs. I've long advocated for outlawing the thumbplex - you could kill a man. But I still get in the square circle. I just guard my thumbs.

This would be the single worst on your list. If I am watching a youtube video and it devolves into an infomercial.. I close it and move on. I watch youtube for 2 main reasons. 1. how to's for home improvements and car repairs and 2. live concert footage (can't go to them all so watching them on youtube is ok).

I watch for cooking ideas and documentaries. Does anyone PAY for YouTube? Is it worth it?

I would not say it is not worth it. However, some do pay for what is essentially Hulu or Amazon Music (with videos instead of simple mp3's).

it is so much easier to actually see the part instead of relying on a black and white drawing when it comes to fixing cars, lawn mowers, etc.

I agree. I often wonder how some of these YouTubers can get so many subscribers from just doing nonsense. Then I remind myself of the type of society we live in, so it makes sense. I am starting a YouTube channel. They are tech/math tutorials. I have about 4 more videos left, then I'll be uploading the whole playlist at once.

A not so famous standup comedian. I am sure he will get a talk show on HBO or Netflix soon. I took about 3 minutes to see one of his videos. Run of the mill.

Ignorant is past tense. you are still ignoring actual life evolving here specifically being eternally separated as ancestrally displaced now. I fit that description first 32 years of my time evolving in this atmosphere.

spent another 24 years keeping a very low profile. Then came humanity using my sibling as a social example of what happens when someone changes their mind.

What happened to my sibling was same treatment given to Donald J. Trump a decade later. My sibling was a nobody, Trump was somebody that drew global attention to the same behavior.

I just had to watch a youtube video showing me where the "low" a/c port was on my car - I would never have found it if it wasn't on YouTube. Good 3 minute video.  Perfect.  Gave the guy a "like".
