US prosecutors filed new criminal charges against a New Jersey man who was convicted in a $200 million real estate Ponzi scheme a decade ago and got 24 years in prison before his sentence was commuted by former President Donald Trump.
 Eliyahu “Eli” Weinstein and four other men were charged with defrauding more than 150 investors of $35 million, falsely promising to invest their money in Covid-19 masks, scarce baby formula and first-aid kits bound for Ukraine, US authorities said Wednesday.

And while many of his supporters detest any religion except their own, Trump himself never paused to pardon a man named Weinstein.

If he’s re-elected he might release him again.
  
He cheated people who wanted to invest in  peddling masks and baby formula and aid to Ukraine, so that leaves out 99% of Trump supporters.

There is an official Office of Pardon Attorney whose role is to vet and recommend clemency to the President.

All modern presidents in the last century have avoided the appearance of selling pardons or handing them out to friends except Bill Clinton in his last days in office and spectacularly, Donald Trump.

Trump may have never made one properly vetted normal pardon or clemency grant.

Pardoning his friends and cronies isn’t charming, which he did plenty of, nor are politically motivated pardons such as Roger Stone.

But the republic will not soon fall because a President read about some poor guy like Weinstein who only scammed the wealthy, and only those who were greedy, and late one night he decides to kick him loose.

Trump even pardoned a black woman locked up for years, just because, he could have a photo made with Kim Kardashian.

Democrats are in awe, of the President.  We don’t want to hate our President whoever he is.

One of the few absolute powers the President has is clemency.

Imagine that power.  Here, he’s exactly like a king.

He can walk into SuperMax at Florence Colorado and pardon El Chapo, to go have a beer with him.

We think that power is cool as ****.

And when Trump did random acts of kindness and pardoned nobodies we cheered it.


What we wonder, is why he didn’t give the entire crowd on Jan 6 plus himself a blanket pardon.

****, we would have passed out thousands of pardons for our friends trying to storm the Capitol.

We didn’t notice Obama’s pardons.  One way or another.

Before Trump the only President to pass out random pardons was Bill Clinton and then only in his last days in office.
