The 45 page indictment is likely to become one of the most important seventh grade civics lessons for hundreds of years yet to come.

He contended that there were 205,000 more votes than voters in Pennsylvania after his own Acting Attorney General told him that was not true. He alleged more than 30,000 non-citizens voted in Arizona even though his own campaign manager said that was false.Bruce » 03 Aug 2023, 11:07 pm » wrote: ↑ The 45 page indictment is likely to become one of the most important seventh grade civics lessons for hundreds of years yet to come.
Kids in the future won’t know about us, and our times.
Trump was the President. He had the right and duty to investigate claims of election fraud. He had the right to recounts, and to file lawsuits.
But our constitution provides the states hold elections. And it also provides that on December 14 of 2020 all those states had to convene electors and certify the results. All the states did that. It was over. Done
Trump’s crime was to along with what Mike Pence has called “a gaggle of crackpot lawyers” convene in 7 states, including solid blue New Mexico, fake electors and attempt using the crackpot theories of John Eastman try to have Mike Pence reject the real electoral votes and gavel the election to Donald Trump.
Pence considered it, and walked back from treason.
This is pure banana republic attempted coup.
I would not want to live in a nation where mere lies were federal felonies.jerrab » 03 Aug 2023, 11:24 pm » wrote: ↑ https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/tru ... 918405RUMP SOUGHT TO CREATE "ATMOSPHERE OF MISTRUST AND ANGER," INDICTMENT SAYSThe indictment filed against Donald Trump lays out how again and again, Republican state officials, Justice Department officials and the president’s own campaign staff refuted his false claims about the 2020 election — including those “on whom he relied for candid advice on important matters.”For example, Trump claimed more than 10,000 dead people voted in Georgia four days after that state’s top elections official told him that was not true. And those dummy electors will get to face hard time from Michigan at least. They've been caught dead to rights.Bruce » 04 Aug 2023, 12:03 am » wrote: ↑ I would not want to live in a nation where mere lies were federal felonies.
Most Presidents we’ve had don’t make a policy out of lying. But many make unsubstantiated claims.
Trump’s wild lies are evidence he was attempting an illegal coup.
He could have lied to his heart’s content.
The line he could not cross was assembling 7 slates of fake electors to give to Mike Pence to overturn an election.
I we allow one man to do that today, in years to come other men will try it.
When a person stands their time in an arena of ideas, are they trying to conquer space or other people's time mutually evolving forward here?jerra b » 03 Aug 2023, 3:43 pm » wrote: ↑ and how is pence won't do what we want him to do is peaceful?

if he used the lie to get money /donations that is illegal, if he said to defame someone, something that is illegal, and he used it to cause the insurrection.
So you can show us the STATE LAW that prohibits an ALTERNATIVE SLATE OF ELECTORS and makes it a CRIME???Squatchman » 04 Aug 2023, 3:32 am » wrote: ↑ And those dummy electors will get to face hard time from Michigan at least. They've been caught dead to rights.
Being in age from 55 to 82 I'm going out on a limb and say they're going to sing loud and long to save their sorry asses.
Michigan has also charged 3 people with **** with voting machines. Seems some trump supporters stole some and tried to make them look corrupt.

If lying or hyping gets you arrested then Adam Schiff should be in chains...along with most of his party. Remember when Hillary claimed Trump colluded with Russia. Why isn't Jack Smith indicting her?
See how very dangerous Trump is to democracy?Beekeeper » 04 Aug 2023, 6:39 am » wrote: ↑ So you can show us the STATE LAW that prohibits an ALTERNATIVE SLATE OF ELECTORS and makes it a CRIME???
Seeing how the US CONSTITUTION controls ELECTORS and the LEGISLATOR can determine WHICH SLATE TO SEND to CONGRESS for counting. NO WHERE is there a FEDERAL CRIME should that to happen, *******!!
Add to that, there is NO CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT for you to even VOTE for President. The fact is, a State legislature can TOSS YOUR VOTE, appoint a slate of electors to vote for President, and send THAT slate to Congress to be counted.
Sucks you are so **** STUPID you have NO CLUE on the FACTS on how you elect our President.
