So I go through the hoops of creating an account with one of my dog's name as the user name. As soon as the account was active I logged on and pulled up the marketplace and looked at a few things just to make sure it worked, and then closed the laptop to get some dinner going.
Well hell... I just got and email from FB that says my account has been suspended for violating their terms of service... even though all I have literally done at this point is create the account and look at the marketplace for about 5 minutes.
I guess I made the FB naughty list somehow or another and they don't want me on their site at all. I feel honored really. I appealed the suspension just to see what they say. Too **** funny!
they won't tell you.
They didn't.
It almost makes me think that they are tracking individual's activities through their IPs and making the call based on browsing history and social commentary and such.sunburn » 02 Aug 2023, 9:25 pm » wrote: ↑ they won't tell you.
I got suspended from ebay..........for what I do not know.
I look at Marketplace all the time without a facebook account. Haven't had one for about 5 years now. I was looking at UTV's just yesterday.RedheadedStranger » 03 Aug 2023, 8:08 am » wrote: ↑ They didn't.
The email just said that I have violated their terms and the account was suspended and would be removed unless I appealed it within 72 hours... which I did.
The follow up email said their "team" would review the appeal and let me know something in the next 24-48 hours. I guess we'll see.
All I wanted to do was look at Marketplace.
Yeah, but I'm pretty sure you can only list items to sale with an account, which is what I was wanting to do.Skans » 03 Aug 2023, 8:17 am » wrote: ↑ I look at Marketplace all the time without a facebook account. Haven't had one for about 5 years now. I was looking at UTV's just yesterday.
Ok - you're probably right. I've only ever used Marketplace to buy stuff.RedheadedStranger » 03 Aug 2023, 8:20 am » wrote: ↑ Yeah, but I'm pretty sure you can only list items to sale with an account, which is what I was wanting to do.
The only thing Craigslist is good for locally is running scams, finding a whore, or moving stolen goods.Skans » 03 Aug 2023, 8:23 am » wrote: ↑ Ok - you're probably right. I've only ever used Marketplace to buy stuff.
I used to use Craigslist all the time - but it got so sketchy. Too bad. I liked that platform better than Marketplace.
I occasionally buy Jeep wheels with new tires on them through Craigslist. Folks buy new Jeeps and then want fancy wheels with big off-road tires. The rims and tires that come with the Jeeps are perfectly fine - just don't look "cool" enough for novice jeep owners. As my Jeep now has over 250K miles, I refuse to spend $2K on a new set of tires when I can get a set for $400.RedheadedStranger » 03 Aug 2023, 8:40 am » wrote: ↑ The only thing Craigslist is good for locally is running scams, finding a whore, or moving stolen goods.
