The "Electoral College" was the ONLY reason that the United States came into being in the FIRST place in 1776 ! 

The states, EVEN THEN, knew that unless there was some "Constitutional" protection, the large states would DICTATE to the small states... and the smaller states would be POWERLESS to protect their OWN self interests... the Electoral College WAS protection that THAT would never happen !!  THAT was how the agreement evolved, that was voted on and was passed by the States, during the Constitutional Convention, so that AMERICA could be born !!!   AND SO NOW... AS it was then... SO it is TODAY... 

IF the Electoral College were to be abolished, 90% of the states would be essentially PUPPETS of the larger states... AND, since the VERY FOUNDATION of the "United States of America" was terminated... the smaller states... COULD/WOULD/SHOULD... DEMAND that they secede from the "modified union"... BECAUSE the agreement that was approved all those year ago, had be BROKEN by SOCIALIST DEMOCRATS !

I'M SURE MOST of the States, and MILLIONS of PEOPLE... WOULD NOT ACCEPT the Usurped Constitution, and DEMAND that they leave the union, BECAUSE...

What the Democrats would have created.. was NOT AMERICA, any longer !!

Russia will be in a MUCH weaker place than they probably have been in centuries... they have LOST both Sweaden and Finland to NATO, Ukraine will be part of NATO (in some form) before it's all said and done, and Russia STILL may well LOSE Crimea and MUCH of what they thought they had conquered in Ukraine,,,  HISTORY will identify this WAR... as the beginning of the end of Russia !

I have and always will support the EC. Its not about being liberal or Conservative. Its about being someone that has lived in both ends of the spectrum; the big city and the wide open empty. Balance is a good thing. The life of someone in North Fork, Idaho is simply different than that of someone who lives in downtown San Diego, CA. Different priorities lead to different values.

Agreed. Most people think our colonial beginnings were smoothly and eagerly transitioned into a union.
This is not even close to the truth. It took many meetings, multiple versions, lots of diplomacy, etc.

The electoral college was one of the measures necessary to keep the small from being overwhelmed by the big.
The slow, relentless corruption started immediately.

Another little known but intrusive part of the constitution is the Commerce Clause.
Its intention was fairly noble but it would be hard to find one that has been more abused.

Its not like winning Wyoming, South Dakota, and North Dakota wins you an election. You still have to win the semi- big states such as Ohio, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, and North Carolina. However, with no EC the math is such that the smallest 18 states would be meaningless to the outcome.

It looks to me like they are WINNING !  SO, WHAT will Russia do if Putin succeeds in gaining a few eastern Ukrainian provinces... BUT LOSES Crimea?  HA!!  I would say that average Russians would say Russia LOST the war !!

In the foreseeable future it is absolutely impossibly to amend the constitution to abolish the electoral college.

There is not any chance whatsoever the required amount of 38 states would ratify it.  It will not happen in our lifetimes and likely never.

I tell you what will happen.

The odds are excellent Donald Trump will die in prison for trying to steal the electoral votes from seven states he lost, and fooled you saying he’d really won those states.  Yeah, and Biden won New Mexico about as bad as Biden lost Mississippi.  Bull ****.  Your side lost the electoral college and tried to cheat, and got caught.

And on December 17, 2024, when the electoral college meets again in all the states, if you claim your side won when your side lost, you go to prison.

Then on January 6, 2025 if you even think about trying to obstruct the counting of electoral votes at the US Capitol you’d better do that thinking beyond the shoot to kill line.

Our side has all those attack  helicopters with mini guns.
