Precisely!
This special election clearly sets the stage for the November election in which a constitutional amendment protecting abortion rights has already qualified for the ballot.  Ohio voters all knew that Issue One was brought by the pro-lifers in Ohio and they resoundingly shot it down.  One would think that the November constitutional amendment constitutionally enshrining reproductive rights in Ohio would pass by a similar margin.

Again... the right used Roe for decades to ramp up THEIR base and bring the pro-lifers out to vote for anything that restricted abortion, and, when the referendum happened on a general election day, the abortion wedge issue was a great GOTV strategy that helped the GOP up and down the ballot.

Now, with Dobbs, the GOP dog has caught the car.  And The pro-choice advocates, who are usually aligned with Democrats, will benefit from Dobbs just like the GOP did with Roe.

If the GOP thought that the furor over Dobbs would somehow dissipate over time, the special election in Ohio should disabuse them of that pipe dream.  They should simply ask themselves whether the furor over Roe went away over time.  Dobbs will be a GOTV goldmine for the Democrats for decades.

I feel for the babies conceived by progressives. For selfish reasons I don't mind if they abort them. Murder is wrong so I will oppose it in all cases. Progressives killing their children does prevent a lifetime of child abuse.

Oh, how poignant!

FYI...I am a lifelong moderate, somewhat hawkish, pro-choice democrat and I have raised three wonderful offspring who are all successful, happy, well-adjusted adults who can all honestly say that their dad never abused them in the slightest.  I literally JUST finished a FaceTime call with my Restaurant Manager son and my 14-month-old granddaughter.  We have a wonderful relationship.  Your broad-brush condemnation of progressives as child abusers is insulting.

The BALLOT MEASURE was to determine if it took a 60% THRESHOLD to amend the CONSTITUTION OF OHIO.

It has NOTHING to do with "abortion rights" since that hasn't come up for ANY VOTE OF ANY KIND!!

Funny how you **** MORONS love to turn a sows ear into a silk purse and ALWAYS FAIL!!

GET SOME FACTS AGAIN, **** and then get back to us. Your SPIN is hilarious.

Some women complain about that very thing:
Not your business. You aren't a woman capable of being pregnant. Shut up about it.

But isn't it also about basically ceding control to a third party?
That's why every citizen can be a part of the discussion. Our government is out of control.

Giving bureaucrats an inch, letting the camel's nose under the tent, better him than me...
Boom! New laws, regs, taxes pop up because we have a "There oughta be a law" attitude.

Provide for the common welfare.    <-- I just made that up.

Allowing people to do whatever they want is scary sometimes because the line gets blurred as to when it is intruding on others. We must guard against "Exploitation of the Innocents".
So, an abortion is just about the most personal thing a woman can go through. I get that.
But governmental creep is also a very real phenomenon. I hope everyone gets that, too.
take a bow...

You're an idiot and you couldn't be more wrong.  In fact, my daughter campaigned for the opponent of the Soros-funded candidate.

Of all topics in the political spectrum.. abortion is the one that I care the least about. So in other words.. spare me your moral indignation. My takeaway from this is that those who supported this measure were trying to make it nearly impossible to change/undo. That is not very American in my opinion. It should be just as challenging to change a law as it is to institute it.

What do you know about women...just because you either are a "man in a dress, date a "mani n a dress" or support a "man in a Dress" doesn't make you an authority on women.  I on the other hand understand perfectly what women want...oh gawd do I
You're a better man than I am...been married for 44 yrs and I still haven't figured her out much less remotely begin to know "what she's thinking"...

The mother wants some say in that decision.

Remember, she always has the option of a coat hanger

Or jumping in the river with her baby in her arms.

So you think a "mother" can murder her own children and have ZERO consequences?? Like the NAZIS has ZERO consequences when a JEW was murdered. They actually made MURDERING JEWS perfectly LEGAL!!

No matter the method used, the BABY STILL IS KILLED and THAT is called MURDER.
