No, the USA is not funding the Taliban.

We send about four billion dollars a year of food and medicine through USAID and other Christian charities to feed and doctor the starving children of Afghanistan.

           There are numerous sources claiming the Aid is not reaching the people it is intended for.... Those resources are confiscated by local / regional Taliban Commanders and distributed amongst themselves, supporters & causes.. workers who distribute the food, medicine & supplies are threatened with violence..   I'm sure they also engage in the age old parasitic practice of selling donated Aid on the Black Market for cash or Barter.. 

           Let their Muslim brothers in the region help them..

They shared experiences of the Taliban attempting to divert foreign aid to their members through bullying, threats of legal action and even violence. The interviewees, who requested their locations be kept discreet, span four provinces in both the north and the south.

The USA invaded Afghanistan in 2001 and fought a 20 year war until we packed up the boys as took them home.  We may have spent a trillion dollars, fighting tribesmen who live in mud huts.

Whatever the Taliban steal they eat or distribute.

The idea is to make them dependent on USAID

Then, they’ll want  to keep it coming and not plot against  us.

Its ten times cheaper at least than fighting them.

           We are no longer in Afghanistan, so sending the Taliban anything by way of humanitarian or financial Aid would only have us serving as useful idiots to those people... Rewarding bad behavior doesn't work out well.... And perhaps if the Afghan people got hungry enough, they might consider doing something about their Taliban overlords..
