The last straw that made the judge reject the deal was it was NOT FINAL.
Unless the plea deal resolves every thing known to Weiss no judge in this world will allow Hunter to take it.
A plea deal is supposed to end everything, you know.

DOJ guidelines give Weiss only a window that closes 90 days before November 5, 2024, the next presidential election.
But my guess is he’ll end it and Hunter will plead in a few months.

Bill Barr is retired. He’s not in any danger at all of going to prison
The record shows he investigated voter fraud, found none (because there wasn’t any) that could have altered the outcome, and then refused to join the plot to have Mike Pence steal the election using false electoral votes.
Then he resigned.
But until then he was a loyal Trumpie.

Weiss is the federal prosecutor who has investigated the business dealings of Hunter Biden and brought charges against him in Delaware. His appointment as special counsel indicates that, contrary to Biden's defense lawyers' claims, the Justice Department investigation into President Biden's son is not over.
Garland said on Tuesday that Weiss told him that "in his judgment, his investigation has reached a stage at which he should continue his work as a special counsel, and he asked to be appointed."
