We've had a rash of them locally and yet they still let people in with dogs.  Don't get me wrong...I have and have always had a dog or dogs...but!....big dogs with sketchy attitudes.  I saw a german shepard the other day in a home improvement store that had a loosely fitting muzzle that looked like someone's livingroom drapes....she said he has an attitude when in contact with other dogs.....guess what?...he did.....just a few minutes later with a lab.....the livingroom drapes didn't hold up.....big fight with a lab that wanted no part of it.....too bad someone didn't put the shepard down on the spot

It's getting to the point that about every 4th time you visit one of those places there's a fight.

I have not had a dog in 20 years and do not miss it. I will agree that this has become quite the thing. Folks taking their dogs into every public venue possible... concerts, theatres, hardware stores, etc. I have seen a few that have got out of control and I always think.. "exactly why I do not have one".

I'm originally from the northern climes.
Used to be a practical sort of person lives where winter hits. But, I don't know any more...

That practical trait bled over into most things. Raising kids and dogs ain't magic.
I know a guy who, many years ago, drove school bus.
There was a bully on the bus. (Junior high age group).
This driver was so pissed about the bully's antics he made him lie on the floor in the aisle.
Everybody had to walk over him to exit.

Driver was fired but the bully was cured. See? Practical. Both sides.
Bully humiliated. Better now. Driver too severe. Fired.

I think we allow bitches to rule WAAAY too much these days.
My hometown is probably filled with total pussies now. I never go there. Don't care.

The way things are these days, there's few places where you won't find a Dog..... All one has to do is register their Pet as an ESA (Emotional Support Animal) which can be done in a matter of minutes online...

I checked one Internet ESA site out, the link is below.... It's a 6 question online Q&A, and 95% of people qualify and are approved after a quick glossing over by one of the Site's Online "Mental Health" professionals... Just submit the small fee for the Certificate... This fee ranges from $49 to $99 depending on the site.. What I am also reading into that is apparently 95% of our country qualify for a **** therapy puppy...  Little wonder we are globally viewed as a pussified laughing stock.

Surprised you ever even heard of a Catahoula Cur.  I would visit clients along the gulf coast....very popular dog among the outdoor crowd/...they even form very well organized clubs

I get joy from other things.. my two small children, my wife, my hobbies. Having a dog is not necessary. It does not help my view that we have a non-stop chorus of dog barking from the houses in back of mine. Four homes in total... each with a larger dog (I presume) and the barking is virtually nonstop.

Who gives a ****?
The thread's about dogs, not your family of fellow weirdos and skewed opinions about joy.
