lifting the cap off social security tax would be a step in the right direction.walkingstick » 16 Aug 2023, 2:41 pm » wrote: ↑ this would cause a ripple effect for full employment for people under 27 years old. fund the system by having a 50% inheritance on the market value of assets over 5 million dollars. plus. remove the cap on contribution. congress would scream NO!!!!! whose nation is this? yours or congress?
the only way to save social security is to lift the cap so that incomes of 170k and over can be taxed for social security.

right now anything over 167k is not taxed for social security. in other words a person making a million only pays social security tax on 167k.Mrkelly » 17 Aug 2023, 4:45 pm » wrote: ↑ but but ... they can get by without a SS check
