Humanity is like so many maggots. We put the profligacy of vermin to shame.

Scientists Say A Terrifying Population Correction Is Coming Soon (msn.com)

Scientists are now warning that the Earth's population is getting out of control. This shouldn't necessarily come as a surprise as it's not exactly new news, but population ecologist William Rees of the University of British Columbia in Canada is now coming forward to say that there may be a dire need for a population correction. As terrifying as it sounds, the move could point to extreme consequences over the next few decades.
In his study, Rees found that how humankind is growing is unstable to maintain the world around us, with the number of resources dwindling with each birth. Because of this, a population correction may be our only hope for survival. A process that the researcher sees happening before the end of the century, the idea is that it would slow down the density of people around the globe and give the planet time to bounce back.
Should we not take advantage of this scientific study and its findings, taking a population correction into our own hands, Rees warns that there may be a civilizational collapse on the way. Essentially, if we don't do the work and take the steps and sacrifices necessary to turn things around, the Earth will do it for us.
Rees also points to humanity's ability to only see things in the short-term rather than looking at the broader picture for how our choices today affect our tomorrow. With all this in mind, it's not hard to understand why we may be headed toward a population correction during this century. Also known for our consumerist tendencies and continued push for capitalism, Rees says that how we've fueled these urges is through overspending and overuse of the world's natural resources. As the number of people on the planet continues to increase, the price of goods will only go up, making the possibility of a population correction only more probable by the day.

             Historically,
the 3 factors which have had the greatest impact regarding depopulation have been Wars, Disease & Famine..... Any population correction will only come from one or more of these factors.... It certainly won't be the result of people or governments acting responsibly or managing / sustaining their resources to support their populations....

In the USA we have a generation of Single Childs who were raised to be very selfish  with no desire to have kids and who don't want to risk getting married..then later ruined financially with a divorce settlement.
Women's Lib  has also contributed in it's own way to this lack of desire.

Population control measures are so Chinese.
That **** them up for a few generations. Lots of lonely angry men.

Those other factors aren't government control. wink, wink...

People naturally want to go forth and multiply. Of course, that made sense when the world was emptier.
The paradigm shift is a need that is globalist in nature. Scary word... globalist.
The real reason why that's a scary word is because it's associated with government and/or elitist controls.
Globalism at a grassroots level wouldn't be a bad thing, right?

"The Earth will do it for us."
Duh, really? The Earth already provided the means for us to populate the place into this very problem.

Whatta **** tool...

I agree there are many such single young folks of this mindset here in this country ---- but I'd be willing to bet they are greatly outnumbered by others here who have made bearing large broods of children at taxpayer expense their career choice ..

But yes, the younger single people do not value & embrace the core Family Unit as folks in this country used to...
