Ford CEO Admits 'Reality Check' When He Took Electric F-150 Truck on Road Trip...
“Charging has been pretty challenging,” Mr. Farley said in a video on X, formerly known as Twitter. “It was a really good reality check of the challenges of what our customers go through and the importance of fast charging and what we’re going to have to do to improve the charging experience.”In California, Mr. Farley said he encountered slow charging times. When using a low-speed charger, it took about 40 minutes for it to charge the electric F-150’s battery to 40 percent.
Another Charging Issue...
It comes after a Canadian man told news outlets that he was forced to abandon his Ford electric truck after suffering charging failures during a road trip. Dalbir Bala of La Salle, Manitoba, said he left his Lightning in Minnesota last month after he couldn’t charge its battery at two different stations.He then continued his drive in a rented gas-powered vehicle instead, he said.
His wife and three children joined him for the trip to Wisconsin and Chicago, setting out with three scheduled stops to recharge on the trip.
“It was really a nightmare frustration for us,” Mr. Bala told CBC News.His first stop was in Fargo, North Dakota, roughly 350 kilometers south of Winnipeg. He paid $56 to charge his vehicle’s battery from 10 percent to 90 percent capacity.
The problems began at his next stop in Albertville, Minnesota, when he received a “faulty connection” message in his truck after he plugged in the charger. He dialed the number on the charger for assistance but received no response.
“It was in [the] shop for 6 months. I can’t take it to my lake cabin. I cannot take it for off-grid camping. I cannot take for even a road trip,” he added. “I can only drive in city—biggest scam of modern times.”
Other Issues...
A report from the American Automobile Association (AAA), released in June, found that the vehicle’s battery range drops significantly when it is hauling heavy cargo—possibly jeopardizing the vehicle’s usage as a work truck. That includes hauling items like tools, toolboxes, equipment, and other items.
“In the case of battery electric pickups used as work vehicles, permanent loads (such as equipment racks, toolboxes, and equipment trays built into the vehicle) will reduce the range at all times, even without additional cargo,” the AAA said.The AAA noted that potential buyers should note what type of driving they will be doing before making the purchase, adding that EVs are better suited for urban driving.
“Our testing revealed a significant range reduction, but it’s important to note that the Lightning was loaded to near its maximum capacity,” Greg Brannon, director of AAA’s automotive engineering unit, stated in a news release. “Most buyers will likely use their Lightning with a lighter load, resulting in a much smaller range reduction.”

In ten years every Constitutional Patriot afraid of the jab and who thought Mr Peters was Brandon will want an electric vehicle because it will be cheaper and better than a gas one.
For now most of the MAGAS that buy them are hooked on 0-60 times in the Charger Hellcat range.
Modern EVs are much, much faster than the fastest late sixties muscle cars.
Note the fast recharge on the road solution is more Fast Tesla Chargers.

Chevy and Ram will have EV pickups too.
The problem with gasoline pickups for a hundred years has been:
1. The things require expensive gasoline
2. They must have a powerful and complicated expensive gas motor that’s always three times less efficient than electric motors.
3. They lose a lot of torque through a transmission that an electric motor does not lose any.
Look at the next train that passes. That’s an electric motor on the locomotive being fed electricity by a diesel generator. It killed the old steam locomotives dead.
Why an E-150 will kill the F-150 are all the same reasons.
The electric motor requires three times less cost to run.
The electric motor is vastly cheaper and longer lasting than a piston engine.
The electric motor spins the axle, no transmission or drive train and 100% torque from zero RPM
The electric motor has nearly limitless power. Without governors the E-150 would not be drivable.
The same people afraid of the jab will want electric vehicles and Ford knows it.
They have to lower the price to where the electric is much cheaper to buy, and hook up to more Tesla Superchargers.
That doesn’t require a Dr. Fauci.

The market share of plug-in electric vehicles climbed from 0.57% in 2013 to 1.53% of new car sales in the country in 2014. The segment market share reached 2.5% in 2015, rose to 5.2% in 2017, 11.3% in 2019, to 32.2% in 2020., and achieved a record of 45.0% in 2021.

Why it’s not an unsolvable problem is every EV charges overnight in the garage or by a light pole for about 3 cents a mile. Let’s say you drive 100 miles round trip to work. Gas is over ten dollars a day and electricity is $3.
And for Christmas you want to go to North Dakota to see grandma.
All you need is a 15 minute rest stop every two hundred miles.
Ever try to keep brats from killing each other if you don’t stop every three hours?.

EV is not the answer right now. It has very limited abilities. Long range no. Towing no. Always keep options. Until a proven system comes around use everything. Everybody wants clean CHEAP energy.

Why Elon Musk got crazy stupid rich making Teslas, is he’s cut the price by way over half and established Tesla as the electric car to beat.
To actually make a Tesla, the parts, are not much more than an electric golf cart.
I doubt Musk has $7,500 total in all the entire cost of any Tesla, which is paid in full by the rebate.
There’s no gas engine or transmission.
Replace the batteries and rebuild the simple electric motor and it might last one hundred years.
