The E-150 is brilliant. The body is the best selling truck in America. They don’t have a gas motor and don’t have a transmission and don’t drink any gasoline.
And Bob Farley is working on two problems:

Chevy and Ram will have EV pickups too.
The problem with gasoline pickups for a hundred years has been:
1. The things require expensive gasoline
2. They must have a powerful and complicated expensive gas motor that’s always three times less efficient than electric motors.
3. They lose a lot of torque through a transmission that an electric motor does not lose any.
Look at the next train that passes. That’s an electric motor on the locomotive being fed electricity by a diesel generator. It killed the old steam locomotives dead.
Why an E-150 will kill the F-150 are all the same reasons.
The electric motor requires three times less cost to run.
The electric motor is vastly cheaper and longer lasting than a piston engine.
The electric motor spins the axle, no transmission or drive train and 100% torque from zero RPM
The electric motor has nearly limitless power. Without governors the E-150 would not be drivable.
The same people afraid of the jab will want electric vehicles and Ford knows it.
They have to lower the price to where the electric is much cheaper to buy, and hook up to more Tesla Superchargers.
That doesn’t require a Dr. Fauci.
The guy should now do the same trip, towing a trailer.
It's really stupid to push vehicles that rely on batteries that destroy the environment to create, and will only get MORE expensive because they depend on "rare earth" minerals. There's a reason they are called "rare".
And until they figure out how to charge electric vehicles with alternators/generators that will eliminate the need to recharging, they are worthless.

Now Detroit is going to start making Teslas, too.
Today Ford loses money on the first practical electric pickup.
But Ford makes it on the same chassis as the F-150.
GM and Ram have a whole fleet of Ford Lightnings no doubt. They are getting a free education from Ford.
Detroit has made countless millions of gas engines and transmissions. All of those are gradually going to be obsolete.
But they’ve made more vehicle bodies than Musk can even imagine and they have factories that can churn out more Detroiters in a month than Musk can in a year.
Detroit will be one of Fox New’s biggest advertisers.
They don’t drink gas and operate on three cents a mile.

The feasibility study of this E-150 application is nothing other than very simple math. ..with very well known, easy to access quantities that anyone has at their fingertips with Google....

Lithium batteries are expensive and toxic. And heavy as hell.
They MORE than make up for the weight saved from gas powered.
Besides being a bit problematic when they catch fire (actually self-ignite - even MORE fun),
they are a bitch to extinguish.
Cold weather, long haul with any load, infrastructure will NEVER match a gas tank for versatility, etc.
Simple **** attention whores ignore the strip mining and end-of-life nightmares for these cars...
because this crap also messes up the narrative.

One of the biggest absurdities I've seen Ford come out with was their reintroduction of the F150 Lightning as an Electric Vehicle -- with a Sticker Price of $95,000....
I drive a 2000 F150 SVT Lightning (this is the 2nd Generation Lightning) and a buddy of mine has a 1st Generation 1994 Lightning... We both agree this $95,000 rolling battery is an embarrassment to the Lightning Name and Lineage...

I'm just trying to picture what kind of fun & games we could expect to see here in Hurricane Alley South Florida if one of our storms knocked out power to homes & businesses for a week or two.... When the power goes out for a week- i can still cook on my gas stove. and I even figured out how to make some fast emergency coffee.
fill up a coffee filter- put a rubber band on the top- so the grinds stay put.
Drop it in boiling water- made nice fresh coffee. like a big tea bag.
it did take about a half and hour. but it tasted perfect. Who is online
