The army of Ukraine is said to have managed to break through Russian main defense lines in some places. This is reported by The Kyiv Independent with reference to the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley...

"Especially on the axes of advance, which (Ukrainian Armed Forces, ed.) are attacking at the moment, they have advanced through the main defense belt," Milley said. At the same time, Milley points out that Russian troops have been preparing a defensive line with "minefields, dragon's teeth and anti-tank ditches" for many months. It is a "very complex system of defense preparations through which the Ukrainians are fighting their way through."

However, Milley also says that it is "too early" to say whether "the Ukrainian counteroffensive was successful or failed." He describes the push as "very bloody, slow, lengthy and difficult." Milley adds that after the liberation of a "significant part" of the territories occupied by Russia, the Ukrainian Armed Forces "still have a significant amount of strength" and it is not over yet.

They also realize there are few Nazis in Ukraine and the few that are there are are resisting them more than they did their grandfathers.

The Ukrainians know the entire free world is pouring in superior weapons and munitions and when the land bridge falls then all the Crimea will be like a a starving bear in a cage.

Putin will lose this war, and both sides know it.
