No they can't. Russia considers Ukraine a red line. They cannot lose or there will be nuclear war. We really should be trying extra hard at finding a diplomatic solution before billions pay for hubris.

As I said, idiotic hubris. We are setting things in motion that could have civilization ending consequences. If the shoe was on the other foot we would have used nukes by now. Russia supplying weapons to the Taliban and bragging about US troop deaths wouldn't have been tolerated in Afghanistan and that wasn't in our backyard.
