On a personal level, that would be a wise move.  Buy stuff, stocks-equities, equity based mutual funds, precious metals, industrial metals, even REIT's, land, buildings etc.  Because, CASH IS GETTING MORE WORTHLESS EVERY SECOND.  This is Skans' pecking-order of stuff you should have instead of money:

1.  House, free and clear of any debt in a non-HOA neighborhood, and far outside of any debt-ridden cities.
2.  Reliable car
3.  Investments in U.S. companies that reliably generate positive cash flow
4.  Investments in flex-space buildings or REIT's that generate positive cash flow
5.  Investments in good-value tech companies.
6.  Platinum.
7.  Junk Silver - if you have to ask, you haven't even tried to do any research on this....so, don't ask.
8.  Gold bullion - one-ounce .999 bars in verified and numbered sealed packages.
9.  High quality natural diamonds between 1ct. and 4cts. (much easier to transport than gold)
10.  Guns and enough ammo to last you through a war the length of the Ukraine war.

Not a bad list, especially for younger and middle aged individuals.  For retirement aged people, the overwhelming majority of financial experts would advise against a few of those.

Old people better already have transitioned their accumulated wealth in good quality dividend equities for some years before they got really old.

Oh, and Bonds suck.  Don't buy Bonds.......................yet.

the reason that I hold 100% of politicians in such low regard is that they knowingly perpetuate the problem mentioned in the OP.
