In short, parents are fed it up with liberal indoctrination and Covid restrictions...not to mention the school system, generally speaking, just plain suck.
I am going to make a prediction and then repost this when it comes true.
Prediction: If homeschooling becomes more popular, then the government and the left will make aggressive efforts to blocks parents from doing so. They want their power over our children, they don't want parents to have the power.

Most parents approve of homeschooling and with good reason (msn.com)Parents’ perceptions of public schools have changed recently, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. Whether it was teachers unions forcing schools to shut down, health officials forcing children to wear masks, or parents realizing the extreme left-wing agenda-driven curricula that schools were teaching students, many parents have soured on the country’s public education system. Many have turned to homeschooling in its place. A recent Rasmussen poll found that among parents whose children were attending school, 62% of respondents approved of homeschooling for children, including 27% who “strongly approve.” Conversely, the poll revealed that only 31% of parents disapproved, including just 7% who “strongly disapproved.” These results shouldn’t be surprising. In addition to what parents discovered about schools during the pandemic, the recent news stories of how many teachers are aiding students to transition genders without parent notification, or reports of schools having the majority of their students unable to achieve basic proficiency in math, reading, and science, would discourage any parent from sending their children to schools.“Interestingly, I was once against homeschooling but changed my mind. Our children previously attended public school. Over a period of years and painful experiences, we did not see the school as a place where our children were cared for, protected, and properly educated. The school kept parents in the dark about issues involving the health and safety of children,” said Kelly Schenkoske, an education advocate and independent researcher who now homeschools her two children.“They also began incorporating political messages into the school day. Our children were asking to homeschool, and I initially resisted. But after the implementation of social emotional learning and comprehensive sexuality education, in addition to some very difficult experiences our children encountered, we decided to try homeschooling,” Schenkoske told me.

Homeschooling can be a great option, my eldest grandchild is being schooled at home. But it isn't for everyone.
First, you need a VERY dedicated and focused parent who knows how to educate others. Just being intelligent doesn't mean someone is a great teacher. I have been in training sessions led by some of the best and brightest in their professional fields who lost everyone in the room inside 2 minutes. Second, the parent needs to be patient and flexible. Just because they are ready to deliver a lesson doesn't mean the little kid is ready to hear it...but flexibility can be a huge plus when it comes to homeschooling. Different methods and times can be easily incorporated.
Third, things that are normally extra-curricular in traditional education are still important for a well rounded education, so the parents need to seek out groups and expose their kids to things that develop the ability to work with others (like group projects and sports do in schools). While sports are not for everyone, I think the are more valuable for kids being school at home if, for no other reason, the disciplined physical aspect they provide and the social interaction.
Fourth, everyone should have some exposure and appreciation for "the arts" and music. They need to be worked in to the education is some manner.
Bottom line...it can be excellent as long as the parent(s) don't give a half-assed effort.

Homeschooling has been around for 100 years at least and been popular for at least 50 years ..... you redneck anti Americans live in a cave = out of touch with reality.
WE homeschooled our children who have since graduated from college and become quite successful. We did this for reasons of convenience BUT our public school district and the 4 year college became partners with a group that came about.
You rednecks are at least 50 years behind ..........

That's because homeschooling was a viable option then. Only one parent had to work. We have two parents that work now.

The most ******-assed response to Covid was the school system, followed by the Judicial Sysyem.....they just totally shut down. The young girl cashiers at the grocery and box stores should be given Congressional Medal of Honors.

Home schooling has made huge strides over the past 20 years. Libtard teachers tried it for 2 years, the children stayed home and the teachers still got their checks.....it was a huge success.

Eventually he ended up going to a public High School that was loaded to the gills with NWO / MTV brainwashed Wiggers.
Upper Middle Class 99% White area and only about 60% of the Wiggers graduated in my Son's class.....
Tell me there isn't an agenda.....[a fine subject for your CT thread]

Correct. Private schools, at least here in Vegas, have a huge range. The lower range (usually Christain ones) are aroiund 5k a year, the higher end ones are 30k-40k a year.

That depends on your definition or popular. According to the National Education Research Institute, in 1973 an estimated 13,000 students were homeschooled (personally, I wouldn't call that "popular"). By 1983, that number had grown to 93,000 (715.38% growth)...in 1993 the number hit 1 million. The number didn't top 2 million until 2016 and the most recent total is 3.712 million. True. Those smaller schools don't have any fancy stuff like sports or band. Strictly academics. Also, like I said, they are usually religious ones.

The school my Son went to was "Christian".
They offered a "Little League" baseball program but the truth was it was a boys and girls league played with a soft rubber ball...
I volunteered to show the kids the basics.
A Black Boy right off the boat from Africa needed the most work as far as hitting was concerned.
I spent a lot of time showing him how to stand in the batters box, stride into the pitch as you swing...etc.
Nothing was working.
I even gave him the Dominant Eye Test to see if he was a lefty or a righty.
Finally on Game Day in his first AB he swings and misses badly at the first 2 pitches.
Then he must have said to himself "**** this ****...I'm going to do it my way".....
So he held the bat with just 1 hand...like a monkey skull bashing jungle savage would.....then he got a high pitch he liked and clubbed the ball way TF over the outfielders heads.
It was such a funny sight that everyone was laughing......

Homeschooling has been popular for quite a while. Back in the 80's, a neighbor was homeschooling. The only restriction was that the children had to be tested every year to make sure they were on grade level. The school district was very supportive, and even allowed the kids to take gym, home ec, music, and art classes at the school. They would just take the gym or cooking class, and then leave.
Most states (even liberal ones) support homeschooling. I see the advertisements for all of the different homeschooling programs. Many of them are paid for by school education money.
