That may be the case in some places/school districts but not here (northern Nevada). If a student is trans, they can seek a counselor but the counselor can not prescribe or recommend any medical procedures or medications. That is the extent of how the school gets involved here.

Same in my district. 

I do believe parents should be informed but it should be done tactfully bcuz some parents are abusive towards them bcuz they might be different. That’s why children tell their teachers instead of their parents sometimes.

In addition to those persons and officials required to report actual or suspected abuse or neglect, any other person may report, if such person has reasonable cause to suspect that a child has been or may be subjected to abuse or neglect or observes a child being subjected to conditions or circumstances which would reasonably result in abuse or neglect (Section 210.115(4)RSMo).
Legal Requirements of a Mandated Reporter
If a mandated reporter has reasonable cause to suspect that a child has been or may be subjected to abuse or neglect or observes a child being subjected to conditions or circumstances which would reasonably result in abuse or neglect, that person shall immediately report to the Children’s Division (Section 210.115(1)RSMo). It's a parents right to know. No matter what life brings, parent are involved for a lifetime...the schools just move on and wash their hands of it.

One of the most troubling parts of that post is that professional educators (some with advanced degrees and degrees in science) agree with idiot legislators that is is possible for a human to transition from male to female or female to male.

This fallacy that teachers/schools EVERYWHERE are doing this despite the parents wishes is nothing but fear-mongering. If a student is so convinced that they are trans.. they have full control over this starting at age 18. I have no issue with schools offering third party counseling and resources... but as for being intimately involved, not their battle to fight.
