If you knew baseball.. you would know that they play day games.. usually as make up games for postponed and cancelled games.
Baseball has been dying a slow, steady, inevitable marked by lower attendance, lower ratings, and slowly decreasing revenues. This has been the reality since the mid-90's.

Yeah.. so when your regularly scheduled game on May 24 (as an example) is cancelled.. what do they do? However, this is mostly too little and too late. Baseball is dying a slow death. Ratings, revenues, and attendance have been on the decline since the mid-90's with very few teams not relying on the slush fund that comes from the luxury tax.

2022 WS ratings... 5.34 to 6.92
2000 WS Ratings... 11.5 to 12.5
1990 WS ratings.. 19.4 to 20.8
1980 WS ratings... 23.9 to 40.0
WS = World Series... This is the range from lowest rated to highest rated game. This shows the decline.

As a rule, teams are moved because the owners think that attendance will be better elsewhere.
The whole idea that pro sports teams authentically represent a city is bogus. The players are normally not from the town, nor are the owners.
