Ray fled to Atlanta in his white Ford Mustang, driving eleven hours.[29][30] He picked up his belongings and fled north to Canada, arriving in Toronto three days later, where he hid for over a month and acquired a Canadian passport under the false name of Ramon George Sneyd. He left Toronto in late May on a flight to England.[31] He stayed briefly in Lisbon, Portugal, and returned to London.[32] In London, on June 4, he called The Daily Telegraph and requested to talk to Ian Colvin, the newspaper's foreign correspondent in Africa and the Middle East, whose articles about Africa he claimed to have read, and asked him to connect him to former British Army Commandant Alistair Wicks about the possibility of becoming a mercenary in Africa. Ray contacted Colvin again on June 6 for further inquiry, after Wicks had decided not to return the call. Colvin told Ray that it wasn't a good time to become a mercenary, but nevertheless gave him an address in Brussels.[33][34] Ray was then arrested at London Heathrow Airport attempting to leave the United Kingdom for Brussels. He was trying to depart the United Kingdom for Angola, Rhodesia, or apartheid South Africa[35] using the falsified Canadian passport.[36] At check-in, the ticket agent noticed the name on his passport, Sneyd, was on a Royal Canadian Mounted Police watchlist.[37][38]
Airport officials noticed that Ray carried another passport under a second name. The UK quickly extradited Ray to Tennessee, where he was charged with King's murder. He confessed to the crime on March 10, 1969, his 41st birthday,[39] and after pleading guilty he was sentenced to 99 years in prison.[40]

The mother of a convicted murderer who was caught Wednesday after nearly two weeks on the run has defended his crimes, saying he “had no other choice” than to kill his ex-girlfriend.
Danelo Cavalcante’s mother, Iracema, blamed his girlfriend, Deborah Brandao, for her own murder in an interview Tuesday.
“Did it happen? It happened. But it happened because of the stranglehold she put on him, the stance she took with him,” Iracema said of her son, Danelo, stabbing Brandao to death while her young son and daughter were present.
“It wasn’t femicide,” Iracema told the New York Times. “He had to, he had no other choice.”
Pennsylvania authorities believe Danelo, 34, killed Brandao, 33, in April 2021 after she discovered evidence that he murdered someone else in his home country of Brazil four years earlier.
In that case, Iracema claims, Valtar Júnior Moreira dos Reis had threatened to kill her son first.

But if you store a gun outside a safe out a five dollar lock on it.

About as much as it has to do with Biden, nothing at all.
Trump lovers only love themselves, maybe.
They could give a ****, about anybody else, and they won’t wear masks, get vaccinated, wear motorcycle helmets and won’t lock up cheap guns.
The reason five dollar gun locks exist is to make it more difficult for a stolen gun to become a deadly weapon.
Trump only says the things deplorables want to hear.
