At 13 Baltimore City high schools, zero students tested proficient on 2023 state math exam
But I'll bet these kids are full of information about trangenderism, the "climate crisis" and Black Lives Matter.

Student performance and teacher skills are not 100% correlated. If the kids and the parents do not care.. a teacher is virtually powerless.

Well.. maybe I should care enough to put in the time and effort needed to be proficient. Chances of that... not as low as you think. I grew up poor and if the kids from the trailer park (exceedingly white.. may I add) did not score high on standardized tests.. parents mostly shrugged their shoulders and moved along. All that really mattered was that they were able to get jobs after high school.

They are part of the problem but not ALL.. simple enough. Teachers can't undo the apathy and bad habits that they pick up at home. They spend vastly more time with the parents than at school.

But in the specific case of the Teachers (namely the Teacher's Union), there is not a mechanism in place that depicts an honest & accurate correlation between increased funding and improved student aptitude results .... There's been many instances where student test scores were falsified so that Teachers in certain public schools were able to cheat merit based cash bonus programs and salary raises --- there was a massive such scandal in Georgia some years ago

Their body, their choice. Teachers have a moral obligation to persuade their students to transition if necessary.
