The kid in the video made a very wise choice.  He took the two cookies.  Because, there was no way in Hell that anyone was going to give him $10,000 cash.  And, even if they did give it to him, it would have had to go to his parents who would likely never let him have or spend any of the $10,000.

So, the child received 2 Oreo cookies instead of nothing.

I saw it differently. If the boy chose the $10k his parents would likely require him to open a savings account.

Kids play make believe games all the time. It is only logical the possibility exist some choose to pretend they something else in that area as well. Most little boys pretend they are hitting the home run that wins the World Series, or scoring the TD to win the Super Bowl, or hitting the buzzer beating 3 pointer to win the NBA title, or winning a gold medal at the Olympics...maybe some little boy (somewhere) is pretending to be a mentally challenged female dancing in a night club.

Only if they had bad parents and/or a bad school board.

How is the boy going to open up a savings account?  He can't.  The parents would open a savings account, and maybe put his name on it UTMA the kid. The kid might know his dad is a drunk and his mom a drug addict and that he'd never see a dime of that money.

Besides, do you really believe the guy in the video was going to hand over 10K (probably not really even 10K) to the Kid?  Heck no he wouldn't.

Yes...I think the man in the video would have given the kid the $10k.

I had a savings account when I was a kid. His dad probably would have to sign off on it.

It's unreal that we even have to explain why you don't allow children to make life changing decisions. I don't know how are society can come back from this level of stupid and evil.

Actually, they can...they just have the right to void said contract at any time so very few companies will enter into one with them.  They can also drink alcohol and smoke, they just can't buy those things legally.  :D

However, I get your point and agree.
