Flynn was basically lobbying the U.S. to extradite an Islamic mullah residing here in Pennsylvania that Erdoğan would like to get his hands on.

This is the same Erdoğan who has recently cracked down on the dissidents in his country.

He has arrested 36,000 people, fired 100,000 mostly from state jobs, locked up 100 journalists and imposed 'emergency ' rule.

But Flynn was trying to soften his image, by saying that we need to put all that into prospective.

Erdoğan is really a sweet guy, and Obama was bad for not playing footsie with him, and handing over the mullah.

I wonder how Clem thinks that Flynn would have advised Trump on this issue.

I'm sure he would think that the measly 500,000 dollars Flynn received from Turkey wouldn't cloud his judgement at all.

That mullah dodged a **** bullet - there's a fine line between extradition and rendition.

Trump Abruptly Orders 46 Obama Era U.S. Attorneys To Resign

Misty: Presidents absolutely have the right to replace all U.S. Attorneys, and it is not unusual for them to do that, but it seems like this was done in a much more abrupt manner than usual, with many of them told to clear out by the end of the day.

Most presidents do it in a much more gradual manner so as not to disrupt ongoing cases.

After reading the article in the above link it becomes clear that once again Trump took his advice from something he saw on TV.

Image

The Mr. Bharara referred to in the article is the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of NY (Manhattan).

Under Mr. Bharara, the office prosecuted Democratic and Republican officials with equal ardor, most notably Sheldon Silver, the former Democratic speaker of New York’s Assembly, and Dean G. Skelos, the former Republican majority leader of the State Senate.

He is now investigating Democratic Mayor Bill De Blasio's administration for possible corruption.

On November 30th he was called to Trump Tower and asked by both Trump and Jeff Sessions if he would stay on in his job and he accepted.

But now it looks like thanks to Sean Hannity, and the fact that Trump Tower is within Bharara's district, he's gone as well.

Even the editorial board of Rupert Murdoch's NY Post says it will be a big mistake to let him go.

http://nypost.com/2017/03/10/hey-mr-pre ... t-bharara/

I guess since those gov't watchdogs are urging Bharara to investigate whether Trump has violated the emoluments clause, Trump can't have anyone in that office who would not be afraid to do that.

It will be very interesting to see who Trump puts in that position.

Watch this space.

19 times Trump called jobs numbers ‘fake’ before they made him look good.
We may assume President Trump is quite pleased with the strong jobs report from his first full month in office: He retweeted the Drudge Report's triumphant “GREAT AGAIN” framing of the numbers Friday morning, after touting employment figures released by payroll firm ADP earlier in the week.

Not so long ago, however, Trump's view of the monthly jobs report, which comes courtesy of the nonpartisan federal Bureau of Labor Statistics, was markedly different.

As recently as December, he described the report as “totally fiction.”

If there was any argument over whether Trump was flip-flopping on the jobs report at the precise moment it reflected positively on him, White House press secretary Sean Spicer laid it to rest Friday afternoon, telling reporters: “I talked to the president prior to this, and he said to quote him very clearly: 'They may have been phony in the past, but it’s very real now.' ”

Let's take a walk down memory lane and remember a few times Trump trashed the jobs numbers as “fake,” incomplete or something other than the right way to determine whether America had been made “great again.”

Sep. 7, 2012
“Unemployment rate only dropped because more people are out of labor force & have stopped looking for work. Not a real recovery, phony numbers”

Oct. 19, 2012
"7.8% unemployment number is a complete fraud as evidenced by the jobless claims number released yesterday. Real unemployment is at least 15%”

Aug. 11, 2013
“We can rev up this economy like it should be, not with false numbers like 7.4 percent unemployment. But with real numbers.”

May 31, 2014
“Unemployment is a totally phony number.”

June 16, 2015
“Our real unemployment is anywhere from 18 to 20 percent.
Don't believe the 5.6. Don't believe it.”

Aug. 11, 2015
“Then you hear there's a 5.4 percent unemployment. It's really — if you add it up, it's probably 40 percent if you think about it.”

Aug. 30, 2015
“They show those phony statistics where we are 5.4 percent unemployment.
The real number, I saw a number that could be 42 percent, believe it or not.”

Sept. 28, 2015
“I hear 5.3 percent unemployment, that is the biggest joke there is in this country.
That number is so false.”

Sept. 29, 2015
“The number is not reflective. I have seen numbers of 24 percent.
I saw a number of 42 percent unemployment. … That number is so false.”

Oct. 9, 2015
“They say 5.3 percent employment. The number is probably 32 percent.”

Oct. 11, 2015
“Nobody has jobs. … It is not a real economy. It is a phony set of numbers.
They cooked the books.”

Jan. 17, 2016
“Look again, you hear these phony jobs numbers? People that gave up looking for jobs?
They are considered employed.”

Feb. 9, 2016
“Don't believe those phony numbers when you hear 4.9 and 5 percent unemployment.
As high as 35 — as in fact, I heard recently, 42 percent.”

March 12, 2016
“The numbers are phony. These are all phony numbers.
Numbers given to politicians to look good. These are phony numbers.”

May 24, 2016
“You hear a 5 percent unemployment rate. It's such a phony number.
That number was put in for presidents and for politicians so that they look good to the people.”

July 7, 2016
“The phony 5 percent numbers that we hear about with the unemployment.”

Aug. 8, 2016
“The 5 percent figure is one of the biggest hoaxes in modern politics.”

Nov. 4, 2016
“The terrible jobs report that just came out … you can see phony numbers, 5 percent.”

Dec. 8, 2016
“The unemployment number, as you know, is totally fiction.”

Given Trump's interest in the subject, it's highly likely that this list is incomplete.

Flynn's lawyer told Trump team about Turkish lobbying during transition.

A lawyer for retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn contacted an attorney for the Trump transition team about whether Flynn needed to register as a foreign agent before taking the role of national security adviser -- from which he was later forced to resign, White House press secretary Sean Spicer said today.

The comments came after it was revealed that Flynn had done lobbying work in in the months before his appointment that "could be construed to have principally benefited the Republic of Turkey," according to documents filed with the Department of Justice.

Trump made a pledge during the campaign to "drain the swamp" of lobbyists and has been dogged by questions about Flynn and both his lobbying work and ties to Russia.

"Just so we're clear, is that a personal lawyer of General Flynn's contacted a transition lawyer and asked for guidance on what he should or should not do," Spicer said today.

"The lawyer was instructed that at -- that that wasn't the role of the transition and that it was up to the personal lawyer to work with the appropriate authorities or subject matter experts to determine what was appropriate and what was not appropriate in terms of filing.

This was a personal matter. It's a business matter."

But Vice President Mike Pence -- the chairman of the transition team -- said that the first time he heard of the lobbying ties was this week and not during the transition.

"Let me say hearing that story today was the first I heard of it and I fully support the decision that President Trump made to ask for General Flynn's resignation," Pence said in an interview with Fox News on Thursday.

Two senior administration officials tell ABC News that the Turkey issue was not one of the aforementioned "series of questionable instances" Spicer said last month led Trump to ask for his resignation.

A source familiar with the situation tells ABC News Flynn informed the White House counsel team both during the transition and after the inauguration that he would have to file as a foreign agent because of the work he did on behalf of the Turkish government.

This source could not say if Flynn first made the team aware of his situation before or after President-Elect Trump announced that he be appointing the former general to be his NSA on Nov. 18th.
The transition team which was run by Mike Pence, was made aware that Flynn was lobbying for a foreign government before he was appointed National Security Advisor.

Rep. Elijah Cummings, the ranking member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, sent Pence a letter on November 18 requesting more information about the potential conflicts of interest posed by Flynn's lobbying work.

Cummings sent the letter four days after both The Daily Caller and Politico reported that Flynn's consulting firm, Flynn Intel Group Inc., had been hired to lobby for Turkish interests.

Yet Pence said he knew nothing about this until this past Tuesday when it was revealed that Flynn retroactively registered as a foreign agent.

Pence is as big a liar as his boss.

According to your article, the entire article, not your snippet, a lawyer for Flynn informed a lawyer with the transition team.

It seems the work, according to your article, was disclosed in September and terminated after his appointment.
In a letter, dated March 7, a lawyer for the Flynn Intel Group told the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) division of the DOJ that the company had done work on behalf of a Dutch client, Inovo BV.

The work was disclosed in September 2016, and Flynn's group terminated its contract and ceased operations after his appointment, the letter says. A public disclosure was filed on Dec. 1, 2016, according to the letter.
So again, do you want trump to fire him again? If he hadn't fired him you would bitching about that. Since he fired him you are still bitching about him. To the point the punishment has fit the alleged crime. ****, it ain't like he set up a private server to get around FOIA laws that ended having classified information on it.

So after saying for years that the jobs numbers were fake, Trump was celebrating the fact that 235,000 jobs were created in February and he was happy to take credit for that, and let it be known that the numbers may have been fake in the past, but now that he's POTUS, they're real.

Jobs added:

February 2017.......235,000

February 2016.......242,000

February 2015........295,000

Just sayin'.

He also took credit for the January jobs numbers, even though he took office on January 20th.

So, if and when these numbers fall, will they go back to being fake again?
I say yes.
Trump will not hesitate to trash his own Dep't of Labor's numbers.

BTW, Since his inauguration, 5,606 Ohio jobs have been eliminated or outsourced; 1,895 positions have ended in New Jersey; 1,357 vanished in Indiana; 2,008 Georgia employees were told they’ll soon be jobless.
And over 2,420 new layoffs were announced in Michigan.

Fifty days into his presidency there have been 34,137-and-counting announced layoffs in total.

Spicer’s Giddy Jobs Tweet May Have Broken a Federalot Rule

Twenty-two minutes after the Labor Department released the first jobs numbers of the Trump era, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer jumped on Twitter to celebrate.

In so doing, he may have broken a federal rule prohibiting Executive-branch employees from talking about economic numbers for an hour after their release.

Great news for American workers: economy added 235,000 new jobs, unemployment rate drops to 4.7% in first report for @POTUS Trump

— Sean Spicer (@PressSec) March 10, 2017

The rule, as the Times points out, was adopted in September of 1985, with Ronald Reagan in the White House.

At the time, the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs said the purpose was to “preserve the distinction between the policy-neutral release of data by statistical agencies and their interpretation by policy officials.”

The tweet from Spicer, who has an uncanny ability to find banana peels to step on, seems like a clear violation of this rule. Lock him up?

Or maybe cut him a break. When you’re have trouble putting your American-flag pin on the right way, life must be hard.
These people don't know the rules and don't care about the rules.
