So for the right price you get a meeting with the NSC.‘The National Security Council isn’t used to pay off donors’: Maddow nails Trump’s ‘pay for play’
President Donald Trump raised $107 million for his inaugural committee, which was the largest amount raised in history.
However, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow wants to know where all that money went, since there weren’t that many people who attended his inauguration.
“They could have gold-plated every person at that inauguration and it still wouldn’t have cost $107 million,” Maddow said mocking the lack of people at Trump’s inauguration.
She described the money as “sloshing around” the Trump White House.
She specifically brought up a Venezuelan donation of over $600,000.
The son of that donor then got a meeting with the White House and the National Security Council to talk about his ten-point plan to relax the sanctions against Venezuela.
“Venezuela is in dire straight, they do not have the money to spare,” Maddow said showing footage of the recent unrest in the country.
“Do you think he would have gotten the meeting with the national security advisor and the top advisor to the president if had he not given that money?”
“The sanctions that the U.S. put on Venezuela were put there in 2014 after 43 people got killed while participating in anti-government protests, another three people got killed in anti-government protests just yesterday,” Maddow said.
“There had been weeks and weeks of rioting and protests.
There’s a new filing from the White House that shows that interesting thing about the guy who got the meeting with the NSC officials and Steve Bannon.
It also shows while Venezuelans have been rioting in the streets where there have been food and medicine shortages, a country that should be a rich country but people have been literally starving in Venezuela, somehow in the midst of this incredible crisis in Venezuela, Venezuela’s state-run oil company somewhere found a half million dollars to donate to the very, very, very inexplicably over funded Trump inauguration. Venezuela’s state-run oil company gave them $500,000 too.”
Maddow went on to ask where the money was, who has it and what was it being used for if the inaugural committee didn’t use it for the inauguration.
“Number two, not incidentally, the people rioting in Venezuela would like some of it back,” she said showing footage of the protests in the streets.
Her final question was the most disturbing.
“Number three, and this is the most important, certainly the scariest: in a normal administration, the National Security Council doesn’t get used for stuff like this,” she explained.
“National Security Council officials do not have to meet with half million dollars donors to hear their ideas on sanctions for some other country.
What’s the price in this administration for a meeting with the national security council staff?
Was it a half million dollars when that same donor wrote a second check for another $166,000 apparently on that same day?
That was you guys upping the price?
Did you fold in the money from the state-run oil company or was that separate?
How much does it cost to get meetings with National Security Council officials?
Because in a normal administration, the National Security Council isn’t used to pay off donors.”
Maddow also showed footage of Trump criticizing former Secretary Hillary Clinton for “pay to play” politics, which he called illegal. It’s unclear if Trump still believes this is illegal.
It is also unclear if this is the reason the Trump White House refuses to release visitor logs of those attending meetings with senior aides.
For those who say Obama did the same thing:On Tuesday, the 58th Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC), an organization appointed by the President-elect to plan and coordinate all inauguration activities, filed a 510-page report with the Federal Election Committee (FEC) to disclose that they had raised a staggering $106.7 million in donations -- the most ever raised for a president’s inauguration.
The release of the contribution records reveals that Trump’s top inaugural donors included business leaders and corporations, including several from the financial, energy, and technology sector that have business dealings with the U.S. government.
"This is the complete opposite of what candidate Trump campaigned on, where he attacked these huge corporations, made clear they could buy politicians because he had done so, and is the political equivalent of overflowing the swamp not draining it," said Fred Wertheimer, president of Democracy21, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that works on money in politics and government reform issues.
He added that the report shows that Trump appears to have raised "influence money," despite his campaign promises to avoid special interests.
The big-money donations appear to counter Trump's own statements.
In August of last year, Trump railed against big-money donors who seek to curry favor with elected politicians.
"Look, I know the people that want something. I’ve been doing this all my life. I’ve been a very big contributor to many, many people on all sides for many, many years," Trump stated on CBS’s "Face the Nation."
"I don’t want lobbyists. I don’t want special interests.”

250 donors shelled out $100k or more for Trump’s inauguration, providing 91% of funds.
President Trump raised $107 million for his inaugural festivities, shattering previous records.
The former titleholder, Barack Obama, raised half that, $53.2 million, in 2009 — though Obama imposed far stricter limits on amounts and sources of donations.
At least 47 people or organizations gave $1 million or more to the Trump welcome wagon, and more than 250 gave $100,000 and above; those 250 provided 91 percent of the inaugural committee’s funds.
Obama had 82 six-figure donors in 2013, and four that hit $1 million.
To see all donors who gave more than $100,000 for this year and past inaugurations, view the data here.
Small donors didn’t play much of a role in funding the party: Trump collected just $653,602 from people giving $200 or less.
By contrast, in 2013 Obama collected nearly $4.6 million in such contributions.
Just like Obama she frames the discussion by creating the opposing sides argument.Misty » 20 Apr 2017 11:18 pm » wrote: For those who say Obama did the same thing:

Anyone remember how many times during the campaign Trump accused HRC of engaging in 'pay for play?'

Excuse us if we ignore your sudden concern.
Obama's people regularly cleansed the visitor's logs. One Dem hack who was caught on video admitting how he engaged in massive voter fraud visited the White House over 100 times meeting many times with Obama himself.Misty » 20 Apr 2017 2:21 pm » wrote:Did either of the two people you refer to ever visit the White House?
This is why Trump doesn't want to release the visitor's logs.
For many years now, the Democratic Party has resisted all attempts to ensure the integrity of the American electoral system. While one could not enter the Democratic national convention without photo ID, the Democrats have stonewalled every attempt to employ the same measure at the polling place, even though such a measure would significantly reduce voter fraud. Oh wait, not “even though,” but rather, precisely because it would reduce it.
The results of Democratic obstruction include 110 percent voter turnouts in Philadelphia and similar fraud in Colorado.
Worse yet, the huge population of illegal immigrants in the west coast states, their sanctuary cities, and the fact that their state governments are controlled by Democrats -- all of this provides ample and reasonable suspicion of massive voter fraud, virtually none of which is meaningfully investigated by those in power. If ever it comes to light, we will discover that Donald Trump won the popular vote in the 2016 election, and Clinton’s claim to have garnered that much support will be exposed as the fraud it is.
Our presidential election was hacked -- by Democrats. This should be aggressively investigated, litigated and punished, or else, the next time we will lose our country.

Really?Alex Jones asks the press to be ‘respectful and responsible’ in coverage of his custody battle.
In a statement issued on Friday, conspiracy website founder Alex Jones has requested that the press treat his ongoing child custody battle with his ex-wife in a “respectful and responsible” manner.
After a full week of testimony, that included his outrageous statements and actions on his webcasts as well as his drug usage, Jones claimed the battle with his ex-wife Kelly for custody of their three children is a “private matter.”
“Above all, this is a private matter, ” Jones said in a statement.
“This is about my family and only my family.
I have endeavored very faithfully for three years to keep the circumstances confidential for the sake of my children to protect their innocence.”
Is that why they posted them online?Termin8tor » 21 Apr 2017 9:18 am » wrote:Obama's people regularly cleansed the visitor's logs.

You ignore that Democrats are using every method available to block all Trump requests. They are filibustering in the Senate for example. They hate Trump just as much as you do without cause except for him overwhelmingly defeating their darling liar Hillary Clinton!!!Misty » 21 Apr 2017 7:58 pm » wrote:Trump promised to fight for the passage of these legislative measures within the first 100 days of his Administration:
1. Middle Class Tax Relief And Simplification Act.
An economic plan designed to grow the economy 4% per year and create at least 25 million new jobs through massive tax reduction and simplification, in combination with trade reform, regulatory relief, and lifting the restrictions on American energy.
The largest tax reductions are for the middle class. A middle-class family with 2 children will get a 35% tax cut. The current number of brackets will be reduced from 7 to 3, and tax forms will likewise be greatly simplified. The business rate will be lowered from 35 to 15 percent, and the trillions of dollars of American corporate money overseas can now be brought back at a 10 percent rate.
2. End The Offshoring Act.
Establishes tariffs to discourage companies from laying off their workers in order to relocate in other countries and ship their products back to the U.S. tax-free.
3. American Energy & Infrastructure Act.
Leverages public-private partnerships, and private investments through tax incentives, to spur $1 trillion in infrastructure investment over 10 years. It is revenue neutral.
4. School Choice And Education Opportunity Act.
Redirects education dollars to give parents the right to send their kid to the public, private, charter, magnet, religious or home school of their choice.
Ends common core, brings education supervision to local communities. It expands vocational and technical education, and make 2 and 4-year college more affordable.
5. Repeal and Replace Obamacare Act.
Fully repeals Obamacare and replaces it with Health Savings Accounts, the ability to purchase health insurance across state lines, and lets states manage Medicaid funds.
Reforms will also include cutting the red tape at the FDA: there are over 4,000 drugs awaiting approval, and we especially want to speed the approval of life-saving medications.
6. Affordable Childcare and Eldercare Act.
Allows Americans to deduct childcare and elder care from their taxes, incentivizes employers to provide on-side childcare services, and creates tax-free Dependent Care Savings Accounts for both young and elderly dependents, with matching contributions for low-income families.
7. End Illegal Immigration Act.
Fully-funds the construction of a wall on our southern border with the full understanding that the country Mexico will be reimbursing the United States for the full cost of such wall; establishes a 2-year mandatory minimum federal prison sentence for illegally re-entering the U.S. after a previous deportation, and a 5-year mandatory minimum for illegally re-entering for those with felony convictions, multiple misdemeanor convictions or two or more prior deportations; also reforms visa rules to enhance penalties for overstaying and to ensure open jobs are offered to American workers first.
8. Restoring Community Safety Act.
Reduces surging crime, drugs and violence by creating a Task Force On Violent Crime and increasing funding for programs that train and assist local police; increases resources for federal law enforcement agencies and federal prosecutors to dismantle criminal gangs and put violent offenders behind bars.
9. Restoring National Security Act.
Rebuilds our military by eliminating the defense sequester and expanding military investment; provides Veterans with the ability to receive public VA treatment or attend the private doctor of their choice; protects our vital infrastructure from cyber-attack; establishes new screening procedures for immigration to ensure those who are admitted to our country support our people and our values.
10. Clean up Corruption in Washington Act.
Enacts new ethics reforms to Drain the Swamp and reduce the corrupting influence of special interests on our politics.

Again he didn't say he grabbed ****** but that like all men the sight of a woman or picture of a woman creates sexual desire which at times leads to picturing something sexual. That is normal for all normal men. I told her that but she is in denial about what all men learn to live with. I remember the first time it happened to me in Jr. High. I was so ashamed of thinking that about this very nice girl. Since then I learned to just let it pass through and go into my mental trash bin.larryc12 » 22 Apr 2017 9:07 am » wrote: I think it comes down to his ****** grabbing - really. It rakes her craw, so now he is the most disgusting, evil guy to ever enter the White House and she'll never relent.
