The company behind an infamous anti-Trump dossier also worked "on behalf of the Russian government" to fight U.S. sanctions that had enraged Moscow's elite, a key witness testified to a Senate committee on Thursday.

The testimony of Bill Browder, the CEO and co-founder of Hermitage Capital, shed new light on the dealings of the controversial company Fusion GPS -- which was tied to the dossier of spurious claims about President Trump.

According to Browder, the company also conducted a "smear campaign" against him in a bid to fight Russia sanctions.

Further adding to the complexity, Browder also testified that this campaign was orchestrated by Natalia Veselnitskaya – the same Russian attorney who sought the highly scrutinized Trump Tower meeting last June with Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner and then-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

"They were talking about a repeal of sanctions so that Russian torturers and murderers could keep their money in America," he testified.

The dramatic testimony had been blocked a day earlier by Senate Democrats, as part of delay tactics executed in protest of ObamaCare repeal efforts.

But Browder's comments could raise problems for both pro- and anti-Trump camps.

On one hand, his written testimony detailed how the Russian lawyer with whom Trump's eldest son met was involved with the same company linked to the shady dossier smearing the now-president.

Trump Jr. already has faced intense bipartisan criticism for taking that meeting, apparently after being told the lawyer had dirt on Hillary Clinton.

But more broadly, Browder's testimony skewered the Fusion firm itself, along with co-founder Glenn Simpson.

He said the Russian lawyer, working through an intermediary, hired Simpson to "conduct a smear campaign against me and Sergei Magnitsky in advance of a congressional hearing on the Global Magnitsky Act."

Browder had hired the late Sergei Magnitsky to uncover details of massive financial fraud in Russia involving corrupt Russian government officials. Magnitsky was imprisoned and ultimately beaten to death by Russian officers in Moscow.

In the wake of his death, the U.S. passed a law in his name that brought sanctions against Russian oligarchs suspected of money laundering.

Browder described the tactics Simpson allegedly used to discredit him and Magnitsky.

“Glenn Simpson was pitching a story to journalists that Magnitsky had not been murdered, but died of natural causes; that he wasn’t a whistleblower, but a criminal, and that the story I told Congress was incorrect,” Browder said Thursday, adding they were “unsuccessful for the most part” in getting that story written.

Left unclear in Thursday's hearing was what connection there might have been between the Russians and the anti-Trump dossier commissioned by Fusion GPS.

Browder was questioned by multiple senators Thursday on that issue -- but said he was a “bystander” in regard to the dossier and the crude allegations against Trump, as he had only read reports in the press.

“What I’m familiar with is Fusion GPS and Glenn Simpson’s role working on behalf of the Russian government to overturn the Magnitsky Act,” Browder said.

“The steps they took there compromised their integrity.”

Later Thursday, Fusion GPS responded to the allegations raised in the hearing.

“Fusion GPS has complied with the law.

It is a matter of public record that Fusion GPS worked for and under the supervision of an American law firm to provide support for civil litigation in New York.

It was not required to register under FARA, and it did not spread false information about William Browder or Sergei Magnitsky," the company said in a statement to Fox News.

“What is clear is that the president and his allies are desperately trying to smear Fusion GPS because it investigated Donald Trump's ties to Russia.

They have pulled out all the stops, including this false allegation about FARA."

The statement said: "At today’s hearing, not even Mr. Browder could understand or adopt the Republicans' nonsensical argument that Russia had an agent investigate and expose the Russians’ influence on the election.

Fusion GPS is cooperating with Congress and looks forward to sharing the truth.”

During a concert in Bonner Springs, Kansas, singer Ted Nugent attacked former President Barack Obama and anyone who likes him.

The move comes a little over a month after Nugent pledged that he would clean up his comments and swore he’d be more civil when discussing politics.

According to a Kansas City Star report, Nugent stayed out of politics until he performed his song “Dog Eat Dog.”

He gave a shout out to President Donald Trump, who recently invited him to the White House.

Nugent then cheered on members of the U.S. military, saying that he was sorry they had to serve eight years under Trump’s predecessor, Obama.

He referred to the previous commander-in-chief as an “absolute piece of sh*t,” and told the audience “if that offends you, you’re a piece of sh*t.”

After a gunman fired on Republican members of Congress practicing ahead of a Congressional softball game, Nugent said he “reevaluated” his language choices.

He swore that he would refrain from saying “anything that can be interpreted as condoning or referencing violence.”

“At the tender age of 69, my wife has convinced me I just can’t use those harsh terms,” Nugent confessed.

“I cannot and will not and I encourage even my friends/enemies on the left, in the Democrat and liberal world, that we have got to be civil to each other.”

This isn’t the first time he’s used the phrase to refer to Obama.

He not only called Obama a “piece of sh*t” but also alleged Obama was a “subhuman mongrel” and urged him to “suck on my machine gun.”

While campaigning for Trump in 2016, Nugent encouraged Clinton to “ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless b*tch,” while waving around a machine gun.

The pledge lasted 38 days.

Right Wing Hypocrite Tomi Lahren Still On Parent's Insurance Thanks To Law She Wants Repealed.

Tomi Lahren and Chelsea Handler recently got together for a political debate for some reason, and the result was predictably devoid of substance.

Handler spent most of the evening bashing Donald Trump, while Lahren countered by defending Donald Trump, and the two went back and forth without saying much of anything worth hearing for their entire time on stage.

One part of the exchange has been making some headlines, however.

At one point, during a back-and-forth over the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare as it has come to be known, Lahren admitted that she benefits from one of its key provisions.

According to Daily Beast, the 24-year-old Tomi Lahren is still on her parents’ health insurance plan, despite being adamantly opposed to the law that allows her that privilege, one which was not afforded to people her age prior to the passing of the Affordable Care Act in 2010.

This elicited boos from the audience, many of whom were clearly disgusted by her blatant hypocrisy.

Tomi Lahren, who declares herself a “pro-America” conservative, which is a thinly veiled way of saying you’re anti-American if you’re not conservative, calls the Affordable Care Act “socialized medicine,” even though it’s not.

The Affordable Care Act is an example of a regulated insurance market, but it’s not even remotely “socialist.”

She also used rhetoric straight from Donald Trump, describing the ACA as being in the midst of a “death spiral.”

Handler, to her credit, correctly pointed out that the health care law is being sabotaged by the president.

“It’s in a death spiral being sabotaged by the president of the United States,” Handler said.

“A decent human being would say: let’s do whatever we can to make the system that’s in place thrive.”

Doctor Will Provide Free Surgeries For Trans Military Personnel

Christine McGinn, herself transgender, won’t let her patients go without care.

A former Navy surgeon said that because of President Donald Trump’s announcement of a ban on transgender people serving in the armed services, she will wave the cost of gender confirmation surgery for some military personnel.

Dr. Christine McGinn, who is also transgender and was once nominated for the Navy’s flight surgeon of the year award, told CNN’s Michael Smerconish on Saturday that if the military won’t pay for its trans service members’ gender confirmation surgeries, any patients she already has scheduled for those operations will receive them for free.

“If the commander-in-chief won’t take care of our veterans, our veterans will.

I will do surgery for free on the number of people that I have already lined up for surgery,” she said.

She added that she’s “more than happy” to do so.

Anthony Scaramucci’s wife demanded a divorce three weeks ago, while she was nine months pregnant, sources told The Post.

Deidre Scaramucci, 38, fed up with her three-year marriage to the new White House communication director, filed divorce papers on July 6 in Nassau County Supreme Court.

On Monday, while Anthony was in West Virginia with President Trump for the Boy Scouts Jamboree, Deidre gave birth to the couple’s baby boy James.

As of Friday evening, a full four days after delivery, her 53-year-old husband had yet to meet his newborn son, though an associate close to Anthony said he visited the child late that night.

He visited his Manhasset, L.I., homestead Saturday.

“When James was born, he sent her a text saying, ‘Congratulations, I’ll pray for our child,’” said a source close to the situation.

Anthony’s associate said, “There was discussion between him, her and the divorce attorneys about Anthony going to the hospital and unfortunately … the delivery was sudden.”

Deidre’s anger with her husband was a factor.

“There’s been … a lot of lies,” said the source.

Asked if any other person was involved in the split, those close to Scaramucci said no.

Arthur Schwartz, his rep, told The Post that “There’s absolutely zero truth in that.”

The associate added, “The only one he’s dating right now is the West Wing of the White House.” Schwartz said the couple separated “five or six months ago.”

While Anthony was having dinner with President Trump and others in Washington Wednesday night, Deidre was home in Long Island recovering from labor.
