MistyBlue, on 31 Jan 2013 - 14:17, said:HUH?What woman? There is nothing in my last post that says anything about locking a woman up, so I'm not sure what you're talking about.Of course you don'tThat seems to be your style lately. Rattle off your talking points and pretend the other side isn't talking.Which one of the four sentences that I wrote in post # 2561 would consider talking points? The lady wants her guns. You don't want her to have them. So if you win, she either gives up her guns, or goes to jail. It's impossible to have this discussion with someone who insists that I want all guns taken away from everyone, even though I have made it quite clear that that is not my position.I guess I could say it 100 times and it wouldn't matter. You engage in the 'all or nothing' thinking I was talking about a few posts back.No shades of gray for you. It's either any kind of gun you want, or no guns at all. Nothing in between.Hey Misty,How am I doing lately?Sometimes I wonder.

Former New York City Mayor Ed Koch Dead At Age 88Former Mayor Ed Koch, the combative, acid-tongued politician who rescued the city from near-financial ruin during a three-term City Hall run in which he embodied New York chutzpah for the rest of the world, died Friday. He was 88.Koch died at 2 a.m., spokesman George Arzt said. The funeral will be Monday at Temple Emanu-El in Manhattan. After leaving City Hall in January 1990, Koch battled assorted health problems and heart disease. The larger-than-life Koch, who breezed through the streets of New York flashing his signature thumbs-up sign, won a national reputation with his feisty style. "How'm I doing?" was his trademark question to constituents, although the answer mattered little to Koch. The mayor always thought he was doing wonderfully.Bald and bombastic, paunchy and pretentious, the city's 105th mayor was quick with a friendly quip and equally fast with a cutting remark for his political enemies."You punch me, I punch back," Koch once memorably observed. "I do not believe it's good for one's self-respect to be a punching bag."The mayor dismissed his critics as "wackos," waged verbal war with developer Donald Trump ("piggy") and mayoral successor Rudolph Giuliani ("nasty man"), lambasted the Rev. Jesse Jackson, and once reduced the head of the City Council to tears."I'm not the type to get ulcers," he wrote in "Mayor," his autobiography. "I give them."When President George W. Bush ran for re-election in 2004, Koch, a Democrat, crossed party lines to support him and spoke at the GOP convention. He also endorsed Mayor Michael Bloomberg's re-election efforts at a time when Bloomberg was a Republican. Koch described himself as "a liberal with sanity."He was also an outspoken supporter of Israel, willing to criticize anyone, including President Barack Obama, over decisions Koch thought could indicate any wavering of support for that nation.Under his watch from 1978-89, the city climbed out of near-financial ruin thanks to Koch's tough fiscal policies and razor-sharp budget cuts, and subway service improved enormously. But homelessness and AIDS soared through the 1980s, and critics charged that City Hall's responses were too little, too late.Among his favorite moments as mayor was the day in 1980 when, seized by inspiration, he walked down to the Brooklyn Bridge during a rare transit strike and began yelling encouragement to commuters walking to work."I began to yell, `Walk over the bridge! Walk over the bridge! We're not going to let these bastards bring us to our knees!' And people began to applaud," he recalled at a 2012 forum. His success in rallying New Yorkers in the face of the strike was, he said, his biggest personal achievement as mayor. His mark on the city has been set in steel: The Queensboro Bridge -- connecting Manhattan to Queens and celebrated in the Simon and Garfunkel tune "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)" -- was renamed in Koch's honor in 2011.Koch was a champion of gay rights, taking on the Roman Catholic Church and scores of political leaders.A lifelong bachelor, Koch offered a typically blunt response to questions about his own sexuality: "My answer to questions on this subject is simply, `F--- off.' There have to be some private matters left."He was fast-talking, opinionated and sometimes rude, becoming the face and sound of New York to those living outside the city. Koch became a celebrity, appearing on talk shows and playing himself in a number of movies, including "The Muppets Take Manhattan" and "The First Wives Club" and hosting "Saturday Night Live.""He was fiercely proud of his Jewish faith. He fiercely defended the City of New York, and he fiercely loved its people. Above all, he loved his country, the United States of America, in whose armed forces he served in World War II."Read more: http://www.foxnews.c.../#ixzz2Jge1RUJ2He was a character all right. One of a kind. Not the best mayor we ever had, and surely not the worst, but he saved NYC.

Owner Sends 'Gay' Dog To Be EuthanizedA Tennessee dog owner sent his pet to be euthanized because he suspected the dog was "gay." Fortunately, the pup was later adopted.A Jackson, Tenn., resident surrendered his "gay" dog for euthanization to the Jackson Rabies Control Animal Shelter on Jan. 29 because he saw his male pitbull/American bulldog mix "humping" another male dog, the Examiner reports. The Huffington Post confirmed with Jackson Rabies Control, a high-kill shelter, that the dog had been surrendered because his owner believed he was "gay."Although animals can be gay, dogs mount each other to express dominance, for play or because of nervousness/excitement, Psychology Today notes.A Facebook campaign was set up to try and save the "gay" dog, according to the Atlantic. A Facebook post detailing the troubling situation called for immediate action.Luckily, the healthy pup has been saved.Gawker notes that a woman named Stephanie Fryns, who is affiliated with the animal rescue group Woof Connections, said that she planned to adopt the dog."I am adopting this big boy first thing in the morning," she wrote on the Facebook page for the animal rescue group Save The Animals Together (S.T.A.T.). "He will be neutered/ htwm tested/ and vetted. He will be temperament tested and then places in a rescue verified and approved home."A Jackson Rabies Control employee confirmed to HuffPost that the dog was adopted on Thursday morning. He had been scheduled to be euthanized at 1:00 p.m., according to the Examiner.UPDATE: The rescued dog's name is Elton, ABC News confirms, and he was saved from euthanization by Fryns, who already owns four dogs. Although Elton has some redness around his ears, Fryns does not believe he was used in dog fights."[Elton] was pretty friendly so far," she told ABC News. "He’s pretty scared of everything, which is understandable. But he loved the car ride.”http://www.huffingto...ref=mostpopularMaybe if you don't want your dog to be gay, it would be a good idea not to name him 'Elton'.

What are you saying? He intended to violate the ban? He did you know, it wasn't accidental. NBC asked for an exemption from the DC police and was refused. So should he be prosecuted in your world or not? No. Liberals should not be proscuted for crimes until the last republican has been chased out of the last public restroom. Also, he was doing news. Also, I'm against the ban, so even republicans should not be prosecuted for violating it. They SHOULD be prosecuted for their publicrestroom behaviors, though.

Should this guy be prosecuted?http://www.shtfplan....azines_01312013Not necessarily, but there's not enough info in the article for me to make an informed decision.I have a lot of questions.Like, what was he doing with 5 extended magazines in his car?Was he planning on selling them? This is not similar to the David Gregory situation. You can't leave the fact that Gregory hosts a TV show out of the equation. If Gregory was caught with 5 magazines in his trunk, I would probably feel differently about prosecuting him.I thought it was kind of funny that the article says he was arrested for a law that had not yet been enacted. That didn't make sense, so I looked it up.This is from Snopes....http://www.snopes.co...guns/haddad.asp
