Lost in all the controversy about 'taking a knee' was something else 45 said last Friday night.
Trump also lashed out at game officials for enforcing rules designed to protect players from dangerous hits, saying penalties are “ruining the game.”

His sharp words come in the same week it was revealed that former NFL player and convicted murderer, Aaron Hernandez, who committed suicide in jail, had the debilitating brain disease chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).

ccording to the Mayo Clinic, CTE is “likely caused by repeated head traumas. …

It has been found in the brains of people who played contact sports, such as football, as well as others.”

Trump made no reference to dangers, only penalties.

“Fifteen yards, throw him out of the game,” he said according to video of the speech.

“They had that last week. I watched for a couple of minutes.

Two guys just really beautiful tackle, boom, 15 yards.

The referee gets on television, his wife is sitting at home, she’s so proud of him — they’re ruining the game. Right?

They’re ruining the game.

Hey look, that’s what they want to do.

They want to hit, but it is hurting the game.”

OIC, so you want me to teach them that it's okay to call people who are protesting racial injustice SOB's?

What about the Tiki Torch gang?
Is it okay to call them SOB's?

Did 45 call them SOB's?

It is NOT okay to call someone who is exercising their First Amendment right to protest an SOB just because you don't like what they are doing.

People in wheelchairs being dragged out of a Senate hearing room.

One man was lifted from his wheelchair, carried out and laid on the floor.

It was this guy in the blue pants.

SEPTEMBER 15, 2017

In what may be an unprecedented move, the White House appeared to call for a TV personality to be fired.

It followed a tweet earlier this week by ESPN anchor Jemele Hill in which she called the president "a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself with other white supremacists."

So what does the NFL say about the National Anthem? Nothing at all in the rule book. The words “National Anthem” are not mentioned once.
NFL Spokesman Brian McCarthy did give additional guidance back in August of 2016 when Colin Kaepernick first “took a knee” in protest. The statement to NBC’s Sports said “players are encouraged but not required to stand during the playing of the National Anthem.”
The closest mention in the NFL’s rule book might be the “Personal Messages” section found on page 23, article 8. That section prohibits players “from wearing, displaying, or otherwise conveying personal messages either in writing or illustration” during pregame, while on the bench or during post game interviews. However, it does not give any guidelines on how the players should present themselves during the National Anthem.

Technically correct, but.

While this language does not appear in the 2017 Official Playing Rules of the National Football League, which is available in its entirety online, it is a part of the game operations manual, which is distributed to all 32 teams, according to NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy.

The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem. During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.

Haven't you heard?
45 says locked arms are okay, but he believes that players who take a knee should be fired.
(How many white players have taken a knee?)

Image

Of course I guess he had to say that after his good friend Tom Brady locked arms with a black teammate.

Image

Refresh my memory, did 45 go all ballistic when Tom Brady skipped out on a visit to the White House when his team won the Super Bowl like he's doing to Steph Curry now?
Did he disinvite Brady? LOL

I know you want to dwell in your denial that this is not about race, but the protests are all about racial injustice Sparky, so that makes it about race.
Let's remember how this all started.
Eric Reid: Why Colin Kaepernick and I Decided to Take a Knee

Image

In early 2016, I began paying attention to reports about the incredible number of unarmed black people being killed by the police.

The posts on social media deeply disturbed me, but one in particular brought me to tears: the killing of Alton Sterling in my hometown Baton Rouge, La.

This could have happened to any of my family members who still live in the area.

I felt furious, hurt and hopeless. I wanted to do something, but didn’t know what or how to do it.
A few weeks later, during preseason, my teammate Colin Kaepernick chose to sit on the bench during the national anthem to protest police brutality.

To be honest, I didn’t notice at the time, and neither did the news media.

It wasn’t until after our third preseason game on Aug. 26, 2016, that his protest gained national attention, and the backlash against him began.
That’s when my faith moved me to take action.

I looked to James 2:17, which states, “Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”

I knew I needed to stand up for what is right.

I approached Colin the Saturday before our next game to discuss how I could get involved with the cause but also how we could make a more powerful and positive impact on the social justice movement.

We spoke at length about many of the issues that face our community, including systemic oppression against people of color, police brutality and the criminal justice system.

We also discussed how we could use our platform, provided to us by being professional athletes in the N.F.L., to speak for those who are voiceless.
