Two years before joining the Trump campaign as a foreign policy adviser, New York business consultant Carter Page was targeted for recruitment as an intelligence source by Russian spies promising favors for business opportunities in Russia, according to a sealed FBI complaint.
Page confirmed to ABC News that he is the individual identified as "Male-1" in a 2015 court document submitted in a case involving the Russian spies.
According to the document, the FBI interviewed Page as part of an investigation stemming from the indictment of three Russian men identified as agents of the Russian foreign intelligence agency, the SVR.
One of them, Evgeny Buryakov, was operating undercover as an executive in the New York office of a Russian development bank.
The Buryakov case resurfaced in headlines last week when President Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, revealed he had met with the head of that bank.
Buryakov was sentenced to 30 months in prison as part of a plea agreement, but he was released from prison over the weekend and is awaiting deportation to Russia.
In the FBI court filings, spy recruiters were overheard speaking with Buryakov about "the attempted use of Male-1 as an intelligence source for Russia," the court record says.
The recruiter says he "promised Male-1 a lot" and told him he would use his "connections in Russia" to "push contracts" his way.
"For now, his enthusiasm works for me," the recruiter says of Page.

Yes, there was a pretext in order to cover up this massive abuse of power.
And here's hint. When an American comes into contact with a Russian spy, the spy doesn't identify himself. "Hi, I'm a Russian spy!"
So unless the American violates the law, he has done nothing wrong.

There is also the matter of, according to Rep. Ron DeSantis of Florida, McCabe having instructed FBI agents not to refer to the Benghazi massacre as a terrorist attack.
There is the fact that Alvi Awan, wife of suspected Pakistani spy and criminal House IT specialist Imran Awan, boarded a plane for Pakistan with an illegally large sum of cash under the nose of federal investigators perhaps with the permission of McCabe.
We could go on.
And yet Monday McCabe was allowed to take “terminal leave,” meaning he’ll be using up accumulated vacation days until he retires. He wasn’t frog-marched out of the J. Edgar Hoover building on his way to federal court.
Not yet, at least.

Citing multiple sources familiar with the IG’s investigation, she stated, “There are indicators now that McCabe may have asked FBI agents to change their 302s -- those are the interviews with witnesses. Basically, every time an FBI agent interview a witness, they have to go back and file a 302.
Hannity asked, “Wouldn’t that be obstruction of justice?”
Carter responded, “Exactly. This is something the Inspector General is investigating. If this is true and not just alleged – if this is true – McCabe will be fired. I heard they are considering firing him within the next few days. If this turns out to be true.”

First and most importantly, Trump did not receive $500,000 for giving a speech in Russia from a Putin-linked bank. That Trump did not is very, very suspicious! Innocent people get paid that kind of money.

Trump has used Russian dressing on his salad quite a number of times.
Donald Jr. used to drink White Russians at parties.
Sessions once said,"Nasdrovya" as a joke toast once.
Trump has, gasp, negotiated with Russia after becoming president! Scandalous!
Pruitt once flew within 700 miles of Russia when visiting Japan.
