By the way, it appears that at least some of Steele’s information could have come from Russians, for instance the salacious stuff. So who has been colluding with the Russians? Agents of Trump or agents of Hillary Clinton? And it is at this point that I shall introduce another set of characters that could have come from no other source than Hillary, Sidney Blumenthal and a man that The American Spectator profiled last week, Cody Shearer. He has not been heard of for some twenty years.

Shearer, the New York Times told us Saturday, “has been criss-crossing Eastern Europe for more than six months to secure the purported kompromat from a different Russian….” Supposedly Shearer was dealing with different Russians than Steele’s contacts. Incidentally, Shearer is only identified by the Times as “an American political operative with ties to the Democratic party.” The Spectator identified him more completely as a long-time “hatchet man” for the Clintons. We supplied evidence. Shearer gave the fruits of his labors to Blumenthal who handed them over to an employee of the State Department, Jonathan M. Winer, whom he had known for thirty years. These fellows go way back. Winer insists that he did not share them with anyone at State, but he did share them with Steele who noted their similarities with Steele’s dossier. Steele then gave Shearer’s material to the FBI who presumably showed it to the FISA court.

Pennsylvania state elections officials are hiding data on noncitizen voters, obscuring what could be as many as 100,000 illegal voters in the crucial swing state, according to a federal lawsuit filed Monday.

The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF), which promotes “clean” voter registration rolls across the country, has sought records from Pennsylvania required under the so-called motor voter law. The law, formally known as the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), allows members of the public to inspect records related to registered voters.

Pennsylvania twice rejected PILF’s request, triggering Monday’s lawsuit.

“For months, Pennsylvania bureaucrats have concealed facts about noncitizens registering and voting — that ends today,” PILF President and general counsel J. Christian Adams said in a statement. “Before this lawsuit, the state admitted to a ‘glitch’ that exposed thousands of driver’s license customers to voter registration offers despite their noncitizen status since the 1990s.”

Adams noted that the secretary of state abruptly resigned in October. Adams added that his organization “hopes to finally get answers about the true scale of noncitizen voting in Pennsylvania and assist lawmakers in crafting reforms that fix it.”

....PILF has been highlighting voting irregularities since at least 2015, when it reported that 86 registered voters in the city of Philadelphia asked elections officials between 2013 and 2015 to be removed from the rolls because they were not U.S. citizens.

Al Schmidt, a Philadelphia city commissioner, later testified before a state legislative committee that 220 noncitizens successfully registered to vote between 2006 and 2017, and that 90 of them had cast 277 ballots.

Schmidt blamed it on a “glitch” in the driver’s license system....

Marks testified that his agency had found 1,160 canceled voter registrations from 46 counties due to voters alerting officials that they were noncitizens and should not be on the rolls. Of that group, 248 people from 30 counties voted at least once.

According to Schmidt’s testimony, the Department of State has completed the Noncitizen Matching Analysis pointing to more than 100,000 matches, meaning that more than 100,000 noncitizens could be registered to vote in the state.

Hans von Spakovsky, a former member of the Federal Election Commission (FTC), who served on President Donald Trump’s voter integrity commission, said Schmidt’s estimate for the number of illegal voters is troubling if it is close to accurate.

High-ranking State Department executives — those both current and former — will be “hauled into Congress” next week to “answer publicly” questions about the “salacious and unverified” anti-Trump Steele dossier, according to Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) in an appearance on “The Laura Ingraham Show.”

“A week ago we sent a letter with a questionnaire to high-ranking former Obama and current Trump officials, asking them 10 questions about when they knew about the dossier, when they knew the dossier was used, when they knew the dossier was used to get a warrant to spy on an American — all questions that the public has a right to know and that the Congress definitely has a right to know,” said Nunes, who is chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

“They have ’til Friday to respond to this questionnaire. And what’s alarming is, Laura, that the mainstream media — the Democratic-controlled mainstream media — is not reporting on this questionnaire,” Nunes continued. “So I guess they’ll be surprised when, you know, a week from today when we have to issue a slew of subpoenas if these people don’t answer.”

MSNBC anchors were silent when Scalise shooter admitted their network was a favorite.
In the wake of the attacks on the Second Amendment, now they’re coming for the First Amendment.

And — but of course — Joe Scarborough is joining. But very, very selectively because, of course, the last thing he wants to do is have his own MSNBC removed from the air because, in Joe’s words, MSNBC — and in this case quite specifically fellow MSNBC host Rachel Maddow — “incite violence.”

Here’s the first part of the story per the Daily Caller. The headline:

.....a while back I wrote up these interesting words of an MSNBC fan. The fan said:

“One of my favorite TV shows is The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC.”

As I noted in NewsBusters:
Who said that? Actually it was the lead sentence in a letter to the letters section of the Belleville News-Democrat, the paper of record in Belleville, Illinois. Who wrote it? That would be left-leaning James Hodgkinson, the man who shot and almost killed the Trump-supporting Congressman Steve Scalise while wounding several others as they practiced for a congressional baseball game between Republicans and Democrats in Alexandria, Virginia.

So a guy who openly professed his admiration for Ms. Maddow and the network — Joe and Mika’s network — that airs her show was, according to Joe and Mika’s logic, incited to violence because of… Maddow and MSNBC. A network where the President and Republicans are routinely trashed, including by Joe and Mika themselves.

Thus the obvious question? Should MSNBC be taken off the air? Should Rachel Maddow? Will Joe and Mika sit down in front of the cameras and confess they work for a network that has incited violence, almost killed a United States Congressman and three others? And so they are quitting MSNBC because it will give them a clear conscience?

What is so utterly typical of the Left, and at this point Joe Scarborough is long gone into the far patches of the Looney Left, is their desire for control. And the desire to control the speech of others is near if not at the very top of the list. This is what is going on in all those headlines about this or that college and speech codes, or requiring the National Guard or thousands of dollars’ worth of police protection for this or that conservative speaker.

What Joe and Mika are demanding is that the NRA, on the way to having its Second Amendment rights eliminated, be removed from its own First Amendment rights on the grounds that it “incites violence.” But in fact when their own MSNBC network and one of their co-hosts turns up as a favorite of an actual non-NRA shooter who almost kills three people — well, then silence. MSNBC and Rachel Maddow be taken off the air because they incited this nut to violence? Shhhh. And double-standards be damned.

All of which illustrates the very dangerous path down the road of censorship that Joe and Mika and their philosophical soul mates would have Americans go. They and their fellow liberal media elites will be the judge of what is acceptable speech — and what is not.
