Bill O'Reilly Wonders Why NBC Hasn't Covered Drones Memo When NBC Broke The Story (VIDEO) Bill O'Reilly sat down with Fox News' designated liberal host Bob Beckel on Wednesday night and claimed that NBC News has not been covering the controversy over President Obama's drones policy in wake of the Justice Department memo that was recently obtained."Heard anything on NBC about the drones?" O'Reilly asked Beckel Wednesday night. Beckel said he had not. O'Reilly continued, "You haven't heard anything over there about this, neither have I, neither has my staff." The Fox News host then charged that NBC News has not discussed the White House drone policy because the network is "protecting the president."Unfortunately for O'Reilly (and his staff), NBC News' Michael Isikoff obtained a copy of the memo discussing the legality of Obama's drones policy and broke the story exclusively for the network. The memo was a major get for Isikoff and the network, and has been a major topic of reporting and discussion on both NBC News and MSNBC since Monday night. The story led NBC News' website Monday night and into Tuesday. MSNBC's Rachel Maddow hosted Isikoff on her show Monday night to discuss his major scoop. NBC's "Nightly News" also reported a story on the drones memo Tuesday night. Moreover, the lead story on this very page Wednesday was about MSNBC's divided hosts. The network devoted a significant portion of its Tuesday coverage to discussing drones and the memo, and some hosts sharply disagree with one another. Hosts including Joe Scarborough, Rachel Maddow, Ed Schultz, Chris Matthews and the roundtable of "The Cycle" all devoted major portions of their shows to the exclusively obtained drones memo.So we are now wondering, has anyone over at O'Reilly's show turned on NBC News or MSNBC this week? This is why I stopped watching Bill O'Reilly's show.I got tired of all the stuff he got wrong on a regular basis. You have to wonder if the problem is a very bad research staff, or if he's doing it on purpose to mislead his viewers.Considering the amount of times this happens on his show, I'm leaning towards the latter.A poll released Wednesday by Public Policy Polling shows that fewer people than ever trust Fox News as a source for accurate news and reporting. Just 41 percent expressed trust in the network — down from 49 four years ago — while 46 percent said they distrust Fox. There’s an obvious reason why: Fox misrepresents facts and fudges its data to advance the conservative agenda. Indeed, it’s nothing like the “fair and balanced” network it claims to be. And, it seems, voters are catching on.Five Reasons Why Fewer People Trust Fox News Than Ever Before

Armed Intruder Chased Off By JesusA group of women have defended themselves during a home invasion by calling out the Lord, scaring off a robber that had threatened them with a weapon.14 women were present when the incident occurred in Lake City, Florida, according to WJXT News 4.24-year-old Derek Lee broke into one of the ladies' Lakeview Avenue houses during a jewelry presentation. He carried a gun and flashed it as he ordered them to give him their valuables, cash and cellphones. One of the attendants at the party initially wrote off his threats as jokes."It's only a water gun," she said, believing he was providing entertainment for the event. Her remark made the robber angry, and he retaliated by pointing a gun at her head and threatening her life."I'm not joking, I'm going to shoot someone, give me your money," Lee responded.Homeowner Jacquie Hagler decided to invoke Jesus, in an effort to deter the assailant, and her idea worked out. The intruder was scared off and made a run for it."When I realized what was going on, I stood up and said, 'In the name of Jesus, get out of my house now.' And he said, 'I'm going to shoot someone.' And I said it again, real boldly."Everybody started chanting, 'Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,' and he did a quick scan of the room, and ran out the door as fast as he could go," Hagler describes the incident.Police used the women's description to locate the intruder, and arrested him on robbery and home invasion charges on Friday, January 25."I have forgiven him and prayed for his salvation.I'm hoping this situation has led him to trust the lord and turn his life around," Hagler adds.ROFL

For the record, the ATF is just another tyrannical government agency whose job overlaps with several other, already existing, agencies. It is a waste of tax payer money and they have killed way too many innocent Americans for them to be ok in my book.

Wayne County, PA Man Arrested For Dragging Four Month Old Puppy With His Pick-Up TruckWAYNE COUNTY - All bandaged up, and a bit shaken, a young pup has been through a lot this week, after being dragged along a road tied to the back of its owners pick-up truck in Wayne County. Its very bizarre, the whole situation is very bizarre, said Animal Humane Officer Marlene Metzger.Humane Officers say it was the dogs owner, Peter Ivosevic , 71, of Honesdale who brought the injured puppy to the shelter. He claims it was all an accident. When we were coming up the road there was a cable with a collar dragging from his vehicle, so we had seen that before we even came into this shelter, said Metzger.Humane Officer Marlene Metzger says its a miracle this puppy survived after the entire ordeal and its owner got the puppy care for his severe injuries just in time.Oh, severe road rash, his ear was almost completely removed from his head, he has a very severe laceration on his head, you could actually see his skull, said Metzger.Despite the rough condition that puppy was in when he arrived at the Dessin Animal Shelter, vets expect him to make a full recovery in about a month. The puppy has already had a surgery and were not sure, its probably going to take a while for the puppy to get back to the way it should be and Im sure its going to be a lot of vet care involved, said Dessin Animal Shelter Operations Manager Debbie Moore.Vets who treated this pup say these wounds will all heal, and he will be able to hear. Hell just be missing one ear.As for the dogs owner, hell face animal cruelty charges for what happened. If he wasnt treated quickly I believe he certainly could have bled out or died, said Metzger. This pup is not up for adoption at this time, but the Dessin Animal Shelter is accepting donations on the dogs behalf, to help pay for its surgery and care.VIDEOI just saw this on my local news.People like this deserve the death penalty IMO.Is that just hyperbole? Yes......sort of.In the report I saw tonight, they said that the Magistrate will have to decide whether or not the dog is returned to it's owner. If he decides that this poor dog should be returned to it's owner, then he should get the death penalty also.

Going Postal, Yea VerilyThe USPS has announced the end of Saturday mail delivery starting in August. It's not clear that they can legally do this, since Congress has oversight of the Constitutionally mandated service, and they haven't approved such a move. The Republicans are loving it, so you know this is bad national policy on its face. The simple fact is that the Republicans want to destroy the postal unions and privatize still more of the public infrastructure. The financial problems the Postal Service have were entirely manufactured by the Republican lame duck Congress in 2006 when they mandated 75 years worth of pension and medical benefits to be paid in just 10 years.Workers that are yet to be born are having their retirements paid for, otherwise the semi-autonomous agency would have been averaging a more than 2 billion dollar annual surplus. The big lie is that the PO is suffering from lack of volume, they are still moving more mail than 25 years ago when they were making money. People who study these things aren't predicting volume to decrease by any substantial amount from this point. Some things simply need to physically delivered, why do you think the Republicans want to privatize it?Do you think they intend to lose money? Do you know where the big commission is for a car salesman? It's not from selling you a new car, it's from 'stealing' your trade-in (that's what they call it at the dealership, 'stealing'). The Republicans are telling you how bad your 'used' Post Office is, but they'll take it off your hands. You'll soon be driving a shiny new lemon you can't afford to buy stamps for.Another lie is that Postal Service has a high cost of operations, in fact postage in the US is far lower than the rest of the world. Postage rates are set by a commission, but the Congressional restrictions on increases are making it impossible for the rates to be set properly. There is a long list of goods and services that Post Offices could sell that would be beneficial to the public and make money, but Congress restricts what they can do by law. Privatized mail delivery would eventually mean no delivery in rural areas or even in so-called urban areas. We've got to run it like a 'business', don't you know.Laying off the carriers who do Saturday deliveries, who are mostly part-time employees, will in theory save $2 billion. It will also create a $2 billion hole in the economy for no good reason and make life more difficult for the average citizen. There is a reason they put the Postal Service in the Constitution.Originally the framers wanted to encourage newspaper delivery as well as commerce, but it's already to the point where a newspaper can take two days to arrive, and weekly 'news' magazines are more like historical journals by the time they get to your mailbox. Further cuts are simply going to make that worse and bring the system crashing down.If the Republicans get their way we will return to a period before the Constitution when there was no Postal Service. But that would be consistent with their goal of making everything 'pre-Constitutional', and 'pre-Manga Carta' for that matter. Habeas Corpus? 'Nay, I thinketh not'. Those English Common Law concepts in our legal system need to go too, those are so 400 AD. - Leviticus though, that's a keeper.Stoning for everything and we mean everything. Except witchcraft, then only burning will do. We are Republicans, and we know with certainty that a witch is heavier than a wooden duck. Yea verily.www.prairie2.com

Kansas City Teen Handcuffed In Parents' Basement Since September KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Authorities found a frail 17-year-old boy handcuffed to a pole in his parents' Kansas City basement, where he said he'd been kept since his father withdrew him from school in September.Police said Wednesday that they were still investigating and hadn't turned over any of their findings to prosecutors for consideration of possible charges. Police have not released the names of anyone involved in the case. The teen was placed in the custody of child services.According to a police report, an officer and social worker who were acting on a phoned-in tip visited the family's home on Monday. When they entered the basement, they heard someone cry out, "I didn't do anything. I didn't do anything. I didn't do anything.""I then observed a thin frail looking male getting out of the fetal position on the concrete floor around a steel support pole," Officer Jonathan Stone wrote in the report. The teen was handcuffed to the pole and looked very thin for his height, with a sunken face and eyes that "had a look of desperation."After police freed the shivering boy from the handcuffs and helped him calm down, he said he had been kept in the basement since September, when his father removed him from school. He said he was initially "just locked in the basement, but was not fed much."He told police that in October, he managed to get out of the basement and get food, which angered his father, who tried handcuffing both his hands to a bed frame in a "cross position, but his arms were not long enough."The teen said he managed to take apart the bed in November and used a bed rail to break open the door, but he didn't manage to find food. He told police that this time his father removed the bed from the basement and handcuffed him to the pole.He told police that his father would wake him each day at 4 a.m. to use the bathroom and give him a packet of dried oatmeal. In the afternoon, he would again be allowed to use the bathroom and would get a packet of noodles to eat. Later, he would get two bologna sandwiches and a glass of water before being locked up for the night.Another adult in the home told police that the teen was "locked downstairs because in December they let him upstairs and he ate almost an entire bowl of fruit at one time."I really hope there is a hell, so that people who could do this to a child, will burn in it for all eternity.

Bush Family E-mails HackedHOUSTON -- Members of the Bush family, including both former presidents, have apparently been hacked, and the Secret Service is investigating. The revelation came after Bush family photos and excerpts of email exchanges were posted online Thursday by the Smoking Gun, which attributed them to a hacker known as Guccifer. Guccifer claimed on the website to be a veteran hacker already being sought by the feds for hacking hundreds of accounts. This is just another chapter in the game, he wrote. The website reported that at least six email accounts had been hacked, including the AOL account of Dorothy Bush Koch, sister of George W. Bush, as well as former First Lady Barbara Bush's brother and the elder Bush's sister-in-law.The hacked emails, sent between 2009 and 2012, apparently contained security codes and a list of family addresses, emails and cellphone numbers. The leaked photos included intimate moments: a snapshot of George H.W. Bush that appeared to have been taken during his recent stay at a Houston hospital, a shot of George W. Bush posing with a cardboard cutout of himself wearing a beret, and paintings by the younger Bush of himself showering and in a bathtub.According to the leaked emails, the elder Bush's hospitalization prompted his son and other relatives to discuss funeral arrangements. The Smoking Gun reported that, "The former president's chief of staff wrote his children to inform them that 'your dad's funeral team is having an emergency meeting at 10 a.m. just to go through all the details.' The Bush aide, Jean Becker, noted that this information 'fell under the broadening category of things NOT TO TELL YOUR MOTHER.'"The Smoking Gun also reported that George W. Bush wrote he was 'thinking about eulogy' and 'solicited stories that best illustrated their father's sweet nature, favorite jokes, and acts of kindness. 'Hopefully I'm jumping the gun,' noted Bush."http://www.latimes.c...0,4693210.storyHoly crap, how embarassing. They were planning the old man's funeral and he wasn't even dead yet.The strangest thing to come out of this story are the two self portraits by W.Why do they make me think of waterboarding?

For the record, the ATF is just another tyrannical government agency whose job overlaps with several other, already existing, agencies. It is a waste of tax payer money and they have killed way too many innocent Americans for them to be ok in my book. QFT. ANY time you see ANY agency that overlaps, it is a corrupt and illegal agency. Examples:The U.S. Marshal's Service: They swear an oath to the Constitution, and they are the top law enforcement agency at the federal level. Corrupt legislative action has resulted in their being underfunded and relegated to bailiff work. The FBI: They swear no oath, enforce the COMMERCIAL CODE rather than the Constitution, and are bully boys for the corporatocracy (the banksters). They get all the budget dollars because they serve the interests of a corrupt few. Sherrif's offices: They swear and oath to the Constitution, and are the top law enforcement agency of counties. Sherrifs are elected at large. Corrupt legislative action has resulted in their being underfunded and relegated to bailiff work. County police departments: They swear no oath, and the top cop is APPOINTED by lordly overseers, and serve at the pleasure of a connected few. They get all the budget dollars because they serve the interests of a corrupt few. The U.S. Treasury Dept: Their agents swear an oath. The lay and collect taxes, such as excise and impost taxes and user fees, which account for more than half of all monies collected by the federal government. It costs about 1.5 cents of each dollar collected to fund this agency. The IRS: They swear no oath, they are a private, for-profit agency with a FRANCHISE that gives them quasi-governmental powers, and they charge 25 cents on the dollar for their efforts. Their primary purpose is NOT tax collection (Clearly, their operation is inefficient and could be obviated merely by doubling excise-impost taxes), but rather, their purpose is political control. They are the enforcement arm of - and a wholly-owned subsidiary of, the Federal Reserve Bank, which is another private, for-profit firm with a franchise to issue currency (as debt). If you go after the banksters, the IRS will go after you. Whenever you see redundant agencies, you are witnessing a crime in progress. I just saw this on my local news. People like this deserve the death penalty IMO. Is that just hyperbole? Yes......sort of. In the report I saw tonight, they said that the Magistrate will have to decide whether or not the dog is returned to it's owner. It's Snowing! It's Snowing! That Means There's No Such Thing As Global Warming! This is what we hear on this forum every time it snows. What they don't seem to understand, or refuse to, is that Global Warming has increased the risk of dumping heavier precipitation - as rain or snow - over most land regions that experience storms.According to NOAA, the Northeast saw a 74 percent increase in the amount of precipitation that fell during the heaviest rain and snow events between 1958 and 2011.Another thing they don't seem to understand is that weather is what's happening outside the door right now.Climate, on the other hand, is the pattern of weather measured over decades.NASA and NOAA plus research centers around the world track the global average temperature, and all conclude that Earth is warming. In fact, the past decade has been found to be the hottest since scientists started recording reliable data in the 1880s.Another thing GW deniers are in denial about is that extreme weather events are increasing in frequency and intensity.
