JACKSON KATZ, PH.D., is internationally renowned for his pioneering scholarship and activism on issues of gender, race and violence.
He has long been a major figure and thought leader in the growing global movement of men working to promote gender equality and prevent gender violence.

This is one of his exercises:

“I draw a line down the middle of a chalkboard, sketching a male symbol on one side and a female symbol on the other.

Then I ask just the men: What steps do you guys take, on a daily basis, to prevent yourselves from being sexually assaulted?

At first there is a kind of awkward silence as the men try to figure out if they've been asked a trick question.

The silence gives way to a smattering of nervous laughter.

Occasionally, a young a guy will raise his hand and say, 'I stay out of prison.'

This is typically followed by another moment of laughter, before someone finally raises his hand and soberly states, 'Nothing. I don't think about it.'

Then I ask women the same question.

What steps do you take on a daily basis to prevent yourselves from being sexually assaulted?

Women throughout the audience immediately start raising their hands.

As the men sit in stunned silence, the women recount safety precautions they take as part of their daily routine.

Here are some of their answers: Hold my keys as a potential weapon.

Look in the back seat of the car before getting in.

Carry a cell phone.

Don't go jogging at night.

Lock all the windows when I sleep, even on hot summer nights.

Be careful not to drink too much.

Don't put my drink down and come back to it; make sure I see it being poured.

Own a big dog.

Carry Mace or pepper spray.

Have an unlisted phone number.

Have a man's voice on my answering machine.

Park in well-lit areas.

Don't use parking garages.

Don't get on elevators with only one man, or with a group of men.

Vary my route home from work.

Watch what I wear.

Don't use highway rest areas.

Use a home alarm system.

Don't wear headphones when jogging.

Avoid forests or wooded areas, even in the daytime.

Don't take a first-floor apartment.

Go out in groups.

Own a firearm.

Meet men on first dates in public places.

Make sure to have a car or cab fare.

Don't make eye contact with men on the street.

Make assertive eye contact with men on the street.”

Yeah, the reason that everyone who went to school with him defended him, praised his character and denied he'd ever have done that is because of what a drunken, violent degenerate he was.
It's a giant conspiracy of silence!
Stop lying.
It is absolutely not true that EVERYONE who went to school with him is defending him.

I saw two women who went to Yale with him on TV last night who talked about what a fall down stumbling belligerent drunk he was.

And there are many more where they came from.

Why do you think he got so evasive and snarky anytime he was asked about how much he drank and if he had ever blacked out?

Go back and check out his interactions with Amy Klobuchar and Sheldon Whitehouse.

I guess you still don't get it.
His defense is that he couldn't have done anything like that because he was such an angel in High School who only played sports, studied and went to church, and that is not true.
He also partied hard and drank very heavily.

And that is why it is relevant.
Dr. Ford said he was highly intoxicated.

He refused to answer any questions about how much he drank and if he had ever blacked out from drinking.

I think it's very possible that he could have blacked out this whole incident.

I can attest to how dangerous blackouts are!

I would pee in someones hall closet or off their porch
I'd wake up in the morning parked on someones front lawn after a party, and cops banging on my window
I would mistake long haired young men with girls and get cozy with them
Its too embarrasing to think about!

Report: White House Is Controlling Who FBI Interviews in Kavanaugh Investigation

When President Trump ordered the short FBI investigation into Brett Kavanaugh that Senator Jeff Flake abruptly demanded on Friday, it was not quite clear exactly how the bureau would proceed.

Would it restrict its inquiry — which the Senate Judiciary Committee specified would concentrate on “current credible allegations” — only to Christine Ford’s accusation of sexual assault, which was the focus of Thursday’s dramatic hearing?

Or would it dig into the full suite of allegations that have swirled around the judge over the last week?

The agency appears to be going in a third direction, but not necessarily because it wants to.

Just hours before President Trump authorized the new inquiry, the FBI had reached out to Deborah Ramirez, the second woman to come forward with recollections of alleged sexual misconduct by Kavanaugh.

But on Saturday afternoon, NBC News reported that the White House was limiting the scope of the probe to cover only Ford and Ramirez — not Julie Swetnick, the third woman to come forward with allegations of misconduct against Kavanaugh.

“Instead of investigating Swetnick’s claims,” according to NBC, “the White House counsel’s office has given the FBI a list of witnesses they are permitted to interview, according to several people who discussed the parameters on the condition of anonymity.”

NBC also reported that certain other areas of investigation would also be off limits.

For instance, the agency cannot request employment records from a supermarket where key witness Mark Judge worked, which might help corroborate Ford’s account of running into him after her alleged assault.

And it cannot look into discrepancies between Kavanaugh’s account of only drinking moderately in college and that of at least one classmate, who has said he was lying.

On Saturday night, President Trump denied the NBC report.
And on Sunday morning Kellyanne Conway confirmed on CNN that the investigation was 'limited in scope.'

Interesting.......
Deutsche Bank sends Trump financial details to Mueller investigation.
DECEMBER 5, 2017

Deutsche Bank has begun sending information about its dealings with Donald Trump to US investigators probing alleged Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential race following a subpoena by Robert Mueller, the special counsel heading the federal inquiry.

A person with direct knowledge of the German bank’s actions told the Financial Times the production of Trump-related documents had begun several weeks ago.

“Deutsche could not hand over client information without a subpoena,” said a second person with direct knowledge of the subpoena. “It’s helpful to be ordered to do so.”

The move is a signal Mr Mueller’s probe may be moving beyond contacts made between Mr Trump’s campaign and Russian officials and into the billionaire’s business dealings while heading the Trump Organization before entering politics.

Deutsche has been one of Trump’s longest-standing and most supportive lenders, extending him hundreds of millions of dollars in credit for real estate deals and other ventures despite his history of bankruptcies.

Deutsche Bank loaned President Donald Trump over $1 billion for his real-estate projects while Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy's son led a real-estate division there, The New York Times reported Thursday.

Justin Kennedy was the global head of the real-estate capital markets division of Deutsche Bank, which loaned to Trump when other banks wouldn't.

Where are all the women who as teenagers were treated that way by Kavanaugh? By now, they should be coming out of the woodwork.

If Diane Feinstein and Democrats had given this information to Grassley months ago when they were obligated to, the FBI might well have been free to look more broadly.

It could have also been done keeping Ford's name confidential, as she requested. Now she might well be not only humiliated in front of the entire country but prosecuted criminally.

This huge, unethical, immoral abuse of power was meant to delay, not to investigate, so tough ****.

Hillary Clinton had to run the Bimbo Eruption Unit to bully, smear, intimidate and threaten his victims and girlfriends, there were so many.

Yeah, I'm just terrified that another Democrat con artist is involved with some wackjob making a new smear. :\

Hey, remember how you claimed that Kavanaugh attempted to rape Ford?

Even the Democrat-run police force didn't believe that.
After the Democratic Party attempted to have Kavanaugh arrested on Saturday, Maryland officials reiterated their findings that by their standards, the worst charges possible, would carry with them a one year statute of limitations.

This is how low the corrupt Democrat Party has sunk; relying on a corrupt legal hack not one word of whose can be trusted.

Or his "witness."

When are you going to present evidence that Kavanaugh committed perjury by denying drinking heavily? I'd swear you claimed to have watched the hearings and accused me relying on unreliable wackjob right sources. :\
Trump was asked about that repeatedly in his press conference about the US-Mexico-Canada trade deal. Trump pointed out, correctly, that Brett Kavanaugh repeatedly confessed to drinking a lot in high school and college. The only thing he specifically denied was being a "black-out drunk" where he drank so much he forgot all details of what had happened in the past.

Twice wrong, wackjob. He said explicitly that sometimes he drank too much.

But did testify that he never passed out.

I'd swear you said that you watched the hearings.
I think it's very possible that he could have blacked out this whole incident.
That's just hilarious given that you ignored Juanita Broaddrick's four contemporaneous witnesses, all of whom heard her story and saw her deep distress, including a nurse who treated her badly bitten lip.

But now you're ranting and raving about something for which you not only have zero evidence, but negative evidence; all four of Ford's witnesses contradict her or cannot remember, even her friend.

Ms Ford apparently has written about being involved in "recovered memories." :loco:

Rotsa ruck selling that to voters in November.

Text messages suggest Kavanaugh wanted to refute accuser's claim before it became public.

WASHINGTON — In the days leading up to a public allegation that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh exposed himself to a college classmate, the judge and his team were communicating behind the scenes with friends to refute the claim, according to text messages obtained by NBC News.

Kerry Berchem, who was at Yale with both Kavanaugh and his accuser, Deborah Ramirez, has tried to get those messages to the FBI for its newly reopened investigation into the matter but says she has yet to be contacted by the bureau.

The texts between Berchem and Karen Yarasavage, both friends of Kavanaugh, suggest that the nominee was personally talking with former classmates about Ramirez’s story in advance of the New Yorker article that made her allegation public.

In one message, Yarasavage said Kavanaugh asked her to go on the record in his defense.

Two other messages show communication between Kavanaugh's team and former classmates in advance of the story.

The texts also demonstrate that Kavanaugh and Ramirez were more socially connected than previously understood and that Ramirez was uncomfortable around Kavanaugh when they saw each other at a wedding 10 years after they graduated.

Berchem's efforts also show that some potential witnesses have been unable to get important information to the FBI.

On Monday, a senior U.S. official confirmed that the White House has authorized the FBI to expand its initially limited investigation by interviewing anyone it deems necessary as long as the review is finished by the end of the week.

The New York Times first reported the change in scope.

NBC News reached out to Berchem for comment after obtaining a copy of a memo she wrote about the text messages.

In a statement to NBC News, Berchem, a partner in the law firm Akin Gump, said: “I understand that President Trump and the U.S. Senate have ordered an FBI investigation into certain allegations of sexual misconduct by the nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

I have no direct or indirect knowledge about any of the allegations against him.

However, I am in receipt of text messages from a mutual friend of both Debbie and mine that raise questions related to the allegations.

I have not drawn any conclusions as to what the texts may mean or may not mean but I do believe they merit investigation by the FBI and the Senate.“

On Sunday, Berchem emailed FBI agent J.C. McDonough her memo.

After getting no response, she resent the summary on Monday morning along with screenshots of certain texts that she thinks raise questions that should be investigated.

“I’m sure he’s really busy and expect that he’ll get back to me,” said Berchem.

Berchem’s memo outlining her correspondence with Yarasavage shows there’s a circle of Kavanaugh friends who may have pertinent information and evidence relevant to the inquiry who may not be interviewed.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has already set in motion a vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination on the Senate floor for later this week.

Kavanaugh has strongly denied the allegation by Ramirez as well as accusations by Christine Blasey Ford that he sexually assaulted her when the two were in high school and by Julie Swetnick that Kavanaugh engaged in sexual misconduct at parties while he was a student at Georgetown Preparatory School in the 1980s.

Berchem, 51, a graduate of Yale and a Connecticut resident, reached out to Sen. Richard Blumenthal's office last week. Blumenthal, a Democrat, sits on the Judiciary Committee.

“We heard from Kerry late on Thursday and submitted her summary to the Judiciary Committee early Friday,” a spokeswoman for Blumenthal said in a statement to NBC News.

“After we were made to jump through several hoops that delayed our moving forward, it became clear that the majority Committee staff had not turned this summary over to the FBI and, in fact, had no intention of turning it over to the FBI.

With our assistance, Kerry submitted her summary to the FBI herself.”

George Hartmann, a spokesman for Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, said that “the texts from Ms. Berchem do not appear relevant or contradictory to Judge Kavanaugh’s testimony."

"This appears to be another last-ditch effort to derail the nomination with baseless innuendo by Democrats who have already decided to vote no," Hartmann said.

Berchem's texts with Yarasavage shed light on Kavanaugh’s personal contact with friends, including that he obtained a copy of a photograph of a small group of friends from Yale at a 1997 wedding in order to show himself smiling alongside Ramirez 10 years after they graduated.

Kavanaugh was a groomsman and Ramirez a bridesmaid at the wedding.

Berchem hired a lawyer on Sunday to help her get her information into the right hands.

She has twice sent her memo to the FBI and has yet to hear a response, according to her lawyer, who spoke on condition of anonymity. He flagged two texts in particular

In a series of texts before the publication of the New Yorker story, Yarasavage wrote that she had been in contact with “Brett's guy,” and also with “Brett,” who wanted her to go on the record to refute Ramirez.

According to Berchem, Yarasavage also told her friend that she turned over a copy of the wedding party photo to Kavanaugh, writing in a text: “I had to send it to Brett’s team too.”

Further, the texts show Kavanaugh may need to be questioned about how far back he anticipated that Ramirez would air allegations against him.

Berchem says in her memo that Kavanaugh “and/or” his friends “may have initiated an anticipatory narrative” as early as July to “conceal or discredit” Ramirez.

Kavanaugh told the Senate Judiciary Committee under oath that the first time he heard of Ramirez’s allegation was in the Sept. 23 article in The New Yorker.

Kavanaugh was asked by Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, when he first heard of Ramirez’s allegations. Kavanaugh answered: “In the New Yorker story.”

A Sept. 24 text shows Yarasavage clarifying that she did not refute Ramirez’s claims to the New Yorker.

Republicans and Kavanaugh have said that his former classmates, who gave an anonymous statement to the New Yorker, have refuted Ramirez’s claim.

“I didn’t say I would have known. … I said she never told me, I never heard a word of this ever happening and never saw it. The media surmised (that I was saying she is lying),” said Yarasavage.

Yarasavage declined to speak to NBC News as did other classmates named in Berchem’s memo who may have information pertinent to the investigation.

Finally, Berchem is concerned about what she witnessed at the 1997 wedding where Ramirez and Kavanaugh were both in the wedding party.

According to the information Berchem provided, Ramirez tried to avoid Kavanaugh at that wedding of their two friends, Yarasavage and Kevin Genda.

Ramirez, “clung to me” at the wedding, Berchem wrote to Yarasavage in a Sept. 24th text message.

“She never went near them,” a reference to Kavanaugh and his friends.

Even in the group photo, Berchem wrote, Ramirez was trying to keep away from Kavanaugh.
