During the hearings, Kavanaugh assured us that he believed: “A good judge must be an umpire — a neutral and impartial arbiter who favors no litigant or policy.

The Supreme Court must never be viewed as a partisan institution.

The justices on the Supreme Court do not sit on opposite sides of an aisle.

They do not caucus in separate rooms.”

But in his last appearance before the committee, just before the vote to send the nomination to the full Senate, Kavanaugh, losing his self control and patience, lashed out with the following:

“This whole two-week effort has been a calculated and orchestrated political hit fueled with apparent pent-up anger about President Trump and the 2016 election, fear that has been unfairly stoked about my judicial record, revenge on behalf of the Clintons,” he said.

He added that the Democrats were “lying in wait” to take him down.

The only thing missing from that statement was, “Lock her up.”

It was pure Trumpian language and probably written in the White House.

Senator Dick Durbin said he met a 4 year old boy in court who has been separated from his mother for 7 months.

The kid refuses to even talk to his mother on the phone any more.
He has not been eating and has reverted to wearing diapers again.

Your hero did that to that kid and many others just like him.

I, too, was sexually assaulted — not 36 years ago but about 50 years ago. I have kept my dirty little secret to myself. Silence for five decades. The molester was our trusted family doctor. What made this monster even more reprehensible was that he was the very doctor who delivered me on Aug. 20, 1946. I’m 72 now.

It was the 1960s. I was in college. The sexual revolution was in full swing. The exact date and year are fuzzy. But details of the event are vivid — forever seared in my memory.

Am I sure who did it? Oh yes, 100 percent.

I was a cool college coed but not that cool. I was still a virgin in the ’60s. I did advance to the so-called heavy petting stage, short of intercourse. I assumed that would come next.

I went to my family doctor to ask for birth-control pills, an IUD or a diaphragm.

His office was in his home, a classic Georgetown 19th-century house, creaky wooden floors with worn velvet Victorian furniture. His office was to the left of the front door, through double doors with glass windowpanes covered with tight curtains. It was a large room divided by a curtain he could draw. Half the room was his office, the other half his examination space.

Again, I cannot remember the exact date or even year. Yet I can still describe the following in detail. He drew the curtain, asking me to remove my clothes below the waist while he sat at his desk by the bay window. When I was ready, he came to the examination area and installed stirrups on one end of the cushioned examination table.

Here I was in my 20s, and I had never had a gynecological examination. I had never even seen exam stirrups before. It was extremely odd to spread my legs and dig my heels into those cold iron stirrups.

While I stared at the ceiling, his right index finger massaged my clitoris. With his right middle finger inserted in my vagina, he moved both fingers rhythmically. He coached me verbally in a soft voice, “Just breathe. ‘Ah-ah,’ ” mimicking the sound of soft breathing. “You’re doing fine,” he assured me.

Suddenly, to my shock, I had an orgasm for the first time in my life. My body jerked several times. Then he leaned over, kissed me, a peck on my lips, and slipped behind the curtain to his office area.

I don’t remember saying anything to him. I could not even look at him. I quickly dressed and drove home.

At the time, I think I may have told one of my sisters. I certainly did not tell my parents. I did not report him to authorities. It never crossed my mind to protect other women. Please understand, I was actually embarrassed about my sexual naivete. I was in my 20s and knew nothing about sex. All I wanted to do was bury the incident in my mind and protect my family.

My mother could not read or write English, let alone drive. From then on, I told her our family doctor lived too far away. We’re not going to see him anymore.

Years later, I told my husband. When did I tell him? What year? What date? I don’t remember.

When the superb reporting of the New Yorker’s Ronan Farrow and the New York Times’s Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor helped touch off this intimate discussion, my dirty little secret reared its ugly head and I told anyone who would listen.

I think the doctor died almost 30 years ago in his 80s. I’ve driven past his home/office many times but refused to look at it. Just yesterday, I found the house on Google Maps. Seeing it again, I freaked out.

Christine, I, too, am terrified as I reveal this publicly. I can’t sleep. I can’t eat. Can you? If you can’t, I understand. I am frightened, I am scared, I can’t even cry.

Will my legacy as a television journalist for 30-plus years be relegated to a footnote? Will “She Too” be etched on my tombstone instead? I don’t want to tell the truth. I must tell the truth. As a reporter, the truth has ruled my life, my thinking. It’s what I searched for on a daily working basis.

Christine, I know the truth, as you do. Years ago, my husband read a novel by Rita Mae Brown called “Six of One.” He told me, “There’s a great line in this book. ‘The advantage of telling the truth is you don’t have to remember what you said.’ ”

I wish I could forget this truthful event, but I cannot because it is the truth. I am writing to you because I know that exact dates, exact years are insignificant. We remember exactly what happened to us and who did it to us. We remember the truth forever.

Don't you even try the Schumer Shuffle with me, young lady. I watched every second of that hearing and every dem begged for a FBI investigation. Ole Coonsy talked his boyfriend, Flakey boy, into asking for a limited-in-scope one week investigation. The FBI conducted the supplemental background check investigation and couldn't find any corroborating info because nothing happened. I told you from day one that Ford was lying. It was a dem operation all along and nothing more. Obviously!

Oh... I almost forgot. I hope your day is unfolding beautifully, Misty. : )

That has absolutely nothing to do with this case, Ford's lies, the repeated changes in her story, the strange memory "losses," and that all four of her witnesses contradict her or cannot remember the event.

It has everything to with this case, but you are too stupid to comprehend that.
It shows why women don't report and how the memory works surrounding a traumatic event like that.

When you experience a trauma, it is as Dr. Ford said, 'indelible in the hippocampus' but the surrounding details fade over time.

I have twice now posted about being mugged sometime in the early 80's, and while I can recall the actual mugging in sharp detail, the surrounding events are gone from my memory.

Davis described the alleged assault, including what the man’s breath smelled like.

“He was against me, on top of me — so quickly — with his hands under my skirt and his mouth on mine, that I froze,” she wrote. “I lay there as he pushed himself inside me. The leather couch stuck to my skin, made noises beneath me. His breath smelled like coffee and stale bread. He didn't use a condom."

Davis wrote she did not tell anyone about the alleged assault for decades.

“I never told anyone for decades — not a friend, not a boyfriend, not a therapist, not my husband when I got married years later,” she wrote.

Davis brought up Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who publicly came forward to accuse Kavanaugh of sexual assault decades ago, saying she was not surprised she didn't talk about the alleged assault until years later. Ford publicly came forward in an interview with The Washington Post.

“It doesn’t surprise me one bit that for more than 30 years, Christine Blasey Ford didn’t talk about the assault she remembers, the one she accuses Supreme Court nominee Brett M. Kavanaugh of committing,” Davis wrote.

She said Ford was “criticized” for not remembering the address of where the alleged assault occurred. However, Davis pointed out that Ford recalled the alleged attack in vivid detail.

“That’s what happens: Your memory snaps photos of the details that will haunt you forever, that will change your life and live under your skin. It blacks out other parts of the story that really don’t matter much,” she wrote.

Ford has requested the FBI to investigate the alleged sexual assault - which Davis called a “brave request.”

“Ford wants the FBI to investigate so that some of the details she doesn’t remember can be established. It’s a brave request,” Davis wrote. “Perhaps the aging men who are poised to interrogate her, unless they hide behind surrogates, should pause for a moment and think about the courage it takes for a woman to say: Here is my memory. It has haunted me for decades. It changed my life. You need to know about it now because of what is at stake for this country.”

On Saturday, amid intensive negotiations, Ford, a psychology professor at Palo Alto University, accepted the Senate Judiciary Committee's request to testify and asked that the hearing be held on Thursday. Details were still being hammered out in the afternoon.

Ford said she was 15 and Kavanaugh was 17 when he allegedly assaulted her at a house party in Maryland. She claims he pinned her to a bed, attempted to remove her clothes and put his hand over her mouth to prevent her from screaming.

Kavanaugh, a federal appeals judge, has denied the accusations and said he’s willing to testify before the Judiciary Committee to prove his innocence.

“I’ve changed my views for reasons that have no relationship to his intellectual ability … I feel his performance in the hearings ultimately changed my mind.”

Stevens added, “I’ve never really been a political person.”

White House confirms FBI’s Kavanaugh investigation only looked at what Republican senators wanted.

The White House announced early Thursday morning that the FBI has completed its “supplemental background investigation” into Brett Kavanaugh, Donald Trump’s pick for a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court.

And later that morning, Principal Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah told CNN that the investigation included just nine comprehensive interviews and no examination into whether the nominee may have lied to the Senate Judiciary Committee when he denied ever getting so drunk that he blacked out and had memory lapses.

Shah claimed that the White House had simply had the FBI investigate what the Senate was “interested in,” but then clarified that by that he only meant Senate Republicans.

Asked why the FBI was not permitted to investigate whether Kavanaugh had memory lapses — as his former Yale roommate and other former classmates have alleged — Shah argued that no Senator who matters wanted to know.

So IOW the only Senators who matter, are Republican Senators.
