I was just commenting on the way that FreeRuplic framed it as the 'most disgraceful photo-op in the history of the presidency'.Which is arguably untrue. I thought the Clintons' fake dancing-and-romance-on-the-beach pictures were just as bad.So was Algor's fake Stage Smooch of his wife, just a few years before he divorced her.MSM journalists bleated and whooped in nauseatingly enthusiastic support of both.Once again, ALL presidents engage in photo-ops.You just don't like it when Democrats do it.A huge difference is that the conservative-hating, Obama-fawning liberal MSM fawn and grovel and promote Democrat photo ops as if they're real, while attacking Repubs like Bush when they do them. even if they're fairly legitimate like Bush's.The mission to topple Saddam Hussein had been accomplished. The troops deserved to be congratulated and Bush deserved considerable credit.Say, what ever happened to your claim that the Iraq War was "the biggest foreign policy blunder in US history?" You have chosen to ignore all posts from: RichClem.Hey Clem, have you responded to this post yet, because I haven't seen it?....both members of Congress and the president swear an Oath to God to "uphold the Constitution," not to unconditionally obey SCOTUS decisions.Pray tell Puss, which body has the power to check the actions of the President and Congress and to tell them which of their actions are not allowed by the Constitution?Which body derives from its authority the power to invalidate legislation or executive actions which they consider to conflict with the Constitution?I don't think so.Riddle me this Puss....is it okay if President Obama just ignores SCOTUS decisions that he doesn't agree with?I seem to remember you saying that former President Bush had that right once.So was that just true in his case, or does it apply to a Democratic president as well?

I wasn't hiding behind anything. I didn't discount the facts of the story, did I? I was just commenting on the way that FreeRuplic framed it as the 'most disgraceful photo-op in the history of the presidency'. Sure sounded as if you attempted to assinate the message with the messenger to me, but I'll defer to your explanation. And Bush took the anniversary of 9/11 as an opportunity to promote himself. As a matter of fact he used 9/11 to promote himself all the time, nevermind that the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil took place on his watch.(Please don't bother telling me how that was Clinton's fault, because I know that's what's coming next, so I'll save you the trouble.)Bush's Daddy helped him get into the TANG during the Vietnam war, then got him a transfer to Alabama, (where no one seems to remember seeing him) to supposedly work on a political campaign. He was afraid to pee in a cup, because he likely couldn't pass the drug test.Curious that you would complain about a politician using his pull to get his son INTO the military. Most Leftwingers were using their political connections to get OUT of the military. As far as photo-ops go, all presidents do this kind of stuff. But you want to ignore the fact that Republican presidents are just as guilty of it, if not more so than Democratic ones.Bush stocked his WH communications operation with people from network television who had expertise in lighting, camera angles and the importance of backdrops, and it was Ronald Reagan and his team who really first mastered the art of the photo-op. I agree that all presidents take advantage of photo ops. I just think that our two most recent Democratic chickenhawks loved to use the military for their photo ops and then use them as political pawns with their base the rest of the time. Nevermind the fact that the crew had to sit off the coast of San Diego while President Bush slept aboard, instead of heading straight to port after 10 months at sea. He delayed their homecoming. I don't recall hearing anything but gratitude for the president's show of support from the crew, did you? That makes for a wonderful talking point, but do have specific examples of Obama going around the ME apologizing to terrorists, because it seems to me that he's been going around the ME and the world killing terrorists.Obama address to the UN:"I took office at a time when many around the world had come to view America with skepticism and distrust. Part of this was due to misperceptions and misinformation about my country. Part of this was due to opposition to specific policies and a belief that on certain critical issues, America has acted unilaterally, without regard for the interests of others. And this has fed an almost reflexive anti-Americanism, which too often has served as an excuse for collective inaction."During the 2008 campaign:"Well, first of all, during the campaign I did not say that some of that loss of authority was inevitable," Obama said. "I said it was traced to very specific decisions that the previous administration had made that I believed had lowered our standing in the world.... I would like to think that with my election and the early decisions that we've made, that you're starting to see some restoration of America's standing in the world."In his Cairo speech:"In the middle of the Cold War, the United States played a role in the overthrow of a democratically elected Iranian government. Since the Islamic Revolution, Iran has played a role in acts of hostage-taking and violence against U.S. troops and civilians. This history is well known. Rather than remain trapped in the past, I've made it clear to Iran's leaders and people that my country is prepared to move forward."Sounds like an apologist to me, how about you? Can you be honest and admit the truth when it's right there in B&W?Once again, ALL presidents engage in photo-ops.You just don't like it when Democrats do it.I don't like it when anti-military presidents use the military for their political gain....like Obama and the killing of Bin Laden.

Not one single word you've written undermines my opinion, but Ms. LaSerna cited the key part that I'd forgotten about; that a clause did allow slavery to exist, even though the clear meaning of the rest of the Constitution forbids it.Does this sentence make any sense to *ANY* thinking conservative?

What the hell do you know about upholding the constitution?About as much as he knows about honor. Could an honest sane person hold the following opinion?.For 50 years, the Russians tried to destroy this nation. Now, within a couple of years, the Tea Party is succeeding.

Could an honest sane person hold the following opinion?.I'd have to say in some ways (Immigration, Islamization, Affirmative Action) the Democrats are destroying it. In other ways (protecting the rich from taxation, fighting regulation of industry, squelching workers' right) the Republicans are destroying it. The Muslim Brotherhood has sworn itself to destroy America. It probably could relax and just sit back and watch.

So it was my imagination that you whined endlessly about me? Dishonestly attacked me personally for years?Yes.You didn't loudly and for a long period criticize Chuck, David and board policy? How can anyone do anything loudly in print?I must have been hallucinating.Wouldn't be the first time. You're a very accomplished smear artist. Can't defend most of your opinions, but you lie really well.Allow me to return a compliment. You're a master of projection Puss. Could an honest sane person hold the following opinion?I doubt you can find real debate with liberals anywhere. They don't debate. They declare false liberal Dogma, then attack and insult you when you destroy them with logic and facts.No.Like I said.....projection.Nobody attacks and insults people like you do Puss. You should be ashamed of yourself for saying that.Is this how you destroy Liberals with logic and facts?I called someone familiar with this bill and was told that the legislation was written very closely to a similar law that's been in effect in Missouri for two or three decades.Of course when asked to supply the name of the Missouri law, you said:I refuse to waste my time proving something that you'll just lie and deny anyway, or completely ignore. That's your idea of debate? I'm right, because I said so, and I don't have to prove it. You're a **** trip. Edited by MistyBlue, 16 February 2012 - 12:03 AM.

We're all on to it. You think you're above having to prove anything you say, because you've cited many sources 'in the past'.Sources that for some strange reason, none of us have ever seen. Then bleat loudly as if that proves anything.Again with the 'loudly' thing. Is there a volume to my typing? As I was told, the Virginia law is based on one that passed decades ago in Missouri that doesn't effect birth control or in vitro at all, nor is it meant to.As you were told? ROFLMFAOIs that what you call 'overwhelming evidence'?All you have is your usual Democrat Talking Point Lie.All you have is nothing but to call people liars, and insist that you hold the one and only truth, because you said so.

+1Better question; where are the smart women at? One of the greatest arguments I've had politically was with a Liberal woman. Since then it's been a bunch of little girls that should be baking cookies rather than being cheerleaders for their party of choice. This isn't a damn football game.

Yes, that's exactly what you said.Keep back pedaling, and let us know when you stumble over the truth.Show me where I said that NO "middle class and labor" workers ever give to the Republicans, and that the "rich and corporate America" NEVER give to the Democrats.I was speaking in general terms and you know it.I guess that's the best you have to pick apart my argument.Silly semantic games.

It's interesting that Conservatives seem to enjoy demonizing teachers, nurses, cops and firefighters. They don't make anything, therefore they are worthless. Until your house is on fire, or you need your road plowed. I disagree with your critique. Conservatives don't just minlessly hate folks who don't produce. They are perfectly willing to mindlessly hate producers, too. Just look at the AFL/CIO. A lot of those folks produce, and conservatives mindlessly hate them. No, you have it all wrong. They mindlessly hate whomever fox TELLS them to mindlessly hate - productive or otherwise.Show me where I said that NO "middle class and labor" workers ever give to the Republicans, and that the "rich and corporate America" NEVER give to the Democrats.I was speaking in general terms and you know it.I guess that's the best you have to pick apart my argument.Silly semantic games.Gosh. I fixed that for ya.Thanks for all that agreement with my premise.Only one problem with that, it's not a mindless hate that I have. There is plenty of reason to hate a majority if not all of the organizations within this country. They're all corrupt, all pandering to political/corporate interests in an attempt to obtain power for themselves in the form of legislation or coin. They might start out as noble but certainly, none of them stay that way. They all add to the collective problem and frustration this nation as a whole faces now.The hate for the individual? Stems from their blind support concerning many of these factions and factors. If you go around thinking one man is to blame. One organization is to blame. Then baby, you've got another thing coming. Take them down. Burn them at the cross if you feel it will bring righteous judgment upon their heads. You'll see nothing change and realize quickly that the problem was much more complex. The corruption much more widely spread across this land. Edited by Kelliak, 12 March 2011 - 05:06 PM.
