The Republican War On Women Continues.....The Violence Against Women Act, the once broadly bipartisan 1994 legislation, now faces fierce opposition from conservatives, reported the New York Times March 15. A fight has emerged primarily over changes to the bill that would, for instance, cover same-sex couples in domestic violence programs, expand services to other underserved groups such as American Indians and rural populations, and allow undocumented immigrants experiencing domestic abuse to obtain temporary visas. Some Republicans have accused Democrats of including provisions they knew conservatives wouldn't support to damage the conservative party's image, while Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.) said, "This is part of a larger effort, candidly, to cut back on rights and services to women."http://womensenews.o...ti-violence-actLast month on the conservative Web siteTownhall.com, the conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly called the Violence Against Women Act a slush fund used to fill feminist coffers and demanded that Republicans stand up against legislation that promotes divorce, breakup of marriage and hatred of men.In a series of floor speeches Thursday, a group of mostly Democratic women senators made a high-profile and at times emotional appeal to Republicans to support an expanded Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). In doing so, they suggested Republicans were blocking the bill because it would extend its protections to illegal immigrants as well as gays and lesbians.Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, the lone Republican to join in the floor speeches, said domestic violence victims in her state are often isolated in rural communities "where there is no law enforcement and there is no shelter and there is nowhere to go," she said. "The Violence Against Women Act is, I think, a ray of hope for those who service victims of domestic violence and sexual assault within our villages."http://articles.cnn....?_s=PM:POLITICSThis law was passed in 1994 and re-authorized in 2000 and 2005, always on a bi-partisan basis. On Feb. 2, 2012 it passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee on a straight Democratic party-line vote. Not one Republican vote.

The Republican War On Women Continues.....The Democrat Talking Point Lies continue. This is nothing but empty political crap Democrats always try before an election. Are women helped by Obama's $1.3 trillion annual deficit?By his 11% real unemployment rate?By his Socialized Medicine plan that will drive all private health insurance companies out of business, as he intended, leaving Americans dependent on Beltway politicians?By the 8.1% and rising inflation rate? For those who doubt that there is a Republican war on women, Rachael Maddow lays out the myriad of Republican laws being enacted in state legislatures that include things like mandatory ultrasounds/vaginal probes, which BTW women will also be forced to pay for themselves, scripts written by legislators that doctors will be forced to read to their female patients, allowing or in some cases forcing doctors to lie to their female patients, and in Arizona a bill is working it's way through the state legislature that says that a woman will be required to prove to her employer that she is taking oral contraceptives for a medical condition, and not for contraceptive purposes.Lady Part Legislation Disseminates Through GOP State Legislatures-VIDEOIn my own state of Pennsylvania a bill is working it's way through the legislature which would require doctors to perform an ultrasound on a patient, offer her two personalized copies of the image and play and describe the fetal heartbeat in detail before she can have an abortion. It also requires that the ultrasound image be pointed toward her face. The bill would require doctors to perform a transvaginal ultrasound on a woman whose fetus is not developed enough to be visible by a regular, "jelly-on-the-belly" ultrasound, which of course would be most women seeking an abortion in the first trimester. When asked if this bill was too obtrusive, Governor Tom Corbett [R-PA] said that if you don't want to view the ultrasound image, "You just have to close your eyes."Ironically the bill is called the 'Women's Right to Know Act'.As a woman, there aren't words to describe my outrage over how we are being treated like imbeciles who can't make medical decisions for ourselves without forced government intervention, and how under the guise of providing women with more information, laws are being passed to shame women who are requesting a LEGAL medical procedure.Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett [R-PA] said at a press conference that a bill that would force women seeking an abortion to undergo fetal ultrasounds was not obtrusive because women could simply close their eyes during the procedure. Said Corbett: Im not making anybody watch, OK. Because you just have to close your eyes. As long as its on the exterior and not the interior. (Misty: Which of course is a lie.)

Transvaginal ultrasoundTransvaginal ultrasound is a type of pelvic ultrasound. It is used to look at a woman's reproductive organs, including the uterus, ovaries, cervix, and vagina. Transvaginal means across or through the vagina.See also: Pregnancy ultrasoundHow the Test is PerformedYou will lie down on a table with your knees bent and feet in holders called stirrups. The health care provider will place a probe, called a transducer, into the vagina. The probe is covered with a condom and a gel. The probe sends out sound waves, which reflect off body structures. A computer receives these waves and uses them to create a picture. The doctor can immediately see the picture on a nearby TV monitor. The health care provider will move the probe within the area to see the pelvic organs. This test can be used during pregnancy. In some cases, a special transvaginal ultrasound method called saline infusion sonography (SIS), also called sonohysterography or hysterosonography, may be needed to more clearly view the uterus. This test requires saline (sterile salt water) to be placed into the uterus before the ultrasound. The saline helps outline any abnormal masses, so the doctor can get a better idea of their size.SIS is not done on pregnant women. So, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett [REPUBLICAN DIRTBAG-PA] Is a lying Piece of dog feces...

Translated into honest English; I've written something you're too cowardly to deal with. Some "Head Ball Breaker."You cower in terror from reality.Clem is confusing cowardice with revulsion.Bulls***. Every conservative on the board knows you refuse to answer questions, as you have from the first few times I approached you."Head Ball Breaker." What a complete joke. There goes Clem with his weasel words again.....'arguable' human life.Nothing weasel about it. The nation is divided on when life begins. How can I offer a definitive opinion?Lie much?Apparently Clem saw many thousands of babies being killed and did nothing.Oh, but they were 'arguable' babies.......nevermind.What am I supposed to do, kidnap abortionists? You have never expressed one single word even of concern about Partial Birth Abortions, as close to infanticide as can occur, arguably literal infanticide.Yet you bleat in fake outrage that woman must be presented with ultrasound images.Cold hearted wackjob. Here's your fake "War on Womyn" exposed for the political claptrap it is. Dems added things they knew Repubs would reject that have nothing to do with womyn, then bleat that Repubs are anti-woman.Any honest person would reject that flatulent nonsense, but not a Democrat Talking Point Liar like you.More on the Democrats Violence Against Women Act HoaxWe noted yesterday that the Democrats have continued their phony war against women campaign by alleging in fundraising appeals that Senate Republicans will oppose re-authorizing the Violence Against Women Act, thereby put[ting] womens lives in danger. This is just one more in a series of Democrat scams, intended to 1) divert attention from the Obama administrations record of failure, and 2) raise money from the Democrats gullible base. What is actually going on, as we wrote yesterday, is that Senate Democrats have slipped extraneous provisions into this years version of the Violence Against Women Act, and have refused to consider the Republican alternative, drafted by Senator Grassley, that strips out those inappropriate provisions or imposes safeguards to prevent their abuse.A Senate Republican background document explains the actual issues that are at stake in the competing versions of VAWA. It says, in part: VAWA has enjoyed bipartisan support since it was enacted in 1994 and in each of its subsequent reauthorizations in 2000 and 2006. Last year, when the Judiciary Committee marked up the bill, it contained controversial provisions that were never included in earlier versions of the bill. It also lacked much needed fraud protection provisions regarding grant funds and immigration. Senator Grassley introduced an amendment that authorized aid for victims and also protected against fraud and misuse of funds. The Democrats refused to work with Republicans to write a bill that could enjoy bipartisan support in Committee. One area of abuse by the Democrats relates to immigration. You may wonder what immigration has to do with the Violence Against Women Act: U-visa expansionhttp://www.powerline...en-act-hoax.php

So?Rich, I agree with you on a lot of issues. However, until you start debating in a civil fashion - you're hurting the Conservative cause rather than helping it. So please, just stop whatever the hell you think you're doing.

But, he is the self-appointed master of conservatives, here. So, unless you care to be branded a 'moonbat,' a 'troll' or a 'liar,' you'd best not screw with your fearless leader. By the way, the owner of this board protects clembat, so his obsessive, compulsive disorder that compels him to stalk anyone he pleases (usually, those who point out his caustic approach to debate), will never be enough to earn him even the tiniest of rebukes that might actually have any effect on his behavior. The only possibility of forcing clembat to behave himself lies in having a sufficient number of very brave conservatives who willingly cross the Rubicon to persistently rebuke this wackjob. So far, it ain't happening. Conservatives are too afraid.
