Why is Paul Ryan in states that dont matter? On Thursday morning, a top spokeswoman for the Mitt Romney campaign tweeted out news that they had raised almost $112 million in the first half of October, again showcasing the GOP ability to bring in big money to this year's race for the White House. But if Romney has a lot of money coming in, why is GOP running mate Paul Ryan spending so much time this week still raising money? It might sound trite, but it is true, every minute you don't spend shaking hands or talking to key voters is a minute you can never get back, especially in the final days of an election campaign like this one. With that in mind, let's take a look at part of Ryan's schedule. On Wednesday evening, Ryan raised money in an event in Atlanta, Georgia that closed down major roads during rush hour and produced some aggravated tones from commuters on social media. On Thursday morning, Ryan raised money ($25,000/couple) in an event in Midland, Texas. On Friday morning, Ryan is scheduled for two fund raising events in Greenville, South Carolina, one for $5,000 per couple, the second at $25,000 per couple. On Friday afternoon, Ryan will hold a fund raising lunch in Huntsville, Alabama.Last time I checked, Georgia, Texas, South Carolina and Alabama aren't exactly swing states. In between these fund raising events, Ryan has been doing regular campaign stops, but you sure can't do as many of those when you are going to places that aren't key states, and don't really border swing states. What do we glean from this type of schedule? Is the Romney campaign short on cash? Not according to a press release from them this morning, which says they have $169 million cash on hand.So if they have that much money, why isn't Paul Ryan spending every hour of every day in swing states? Why not Wisconsin? Or Pennsylvania? Or Michigan?Let me know what you think it all means below. What I think it means is that the Romney campaign is trying to keep Ryan under wraps so he can't be questioned about Senate candidate Richard Mourdock's statements about abortion in cases of rape. After all, there is no daylight between Ryan and Mourdock on that issue.According to Ryan, rape is just another method of conception.Gotta love this comment on You Tube:Published on Aug 25, 2012 by ToxichominidTry telling that to the inmates inside the U.S federal and state correctional facilities.Related:Mitt Romney Refuses To Answer Questions About Richard Mourdock At Campaign Stop In Cincinnati

Voter Supression? What Voter Supression? It's all in your imagination.10 States Where Voter Suppression Scams Target New Voters, Minorities and The ElderlyFranklin County Ohio Republican Chairman Doug Preisse, when asked whether it was fair to end weekend voting, said, I guess I really actually feel we shouldnt contort the voting process to accommodate the urbanread African-Americanvoter-turnout machine.Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Mike Turzai said, "Voter ID, which is gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania, done.Minnesota House Speaker Kurt Zellers said, "I think (voting is) a privilege; it's not a right. Everybody doesn't get it because if you go to jail or if you commit some heinous crime, your (voting) rights are taken away. This is a privilege."Florida state Sen. Mike Bennett said, "I don't have a problem making (voting) harder. I want people in Florida to want to vote as bad as that person in Africa who walks 200 miles across the desert. This should be something you do with a passion. When did voting become a 'privilege'? Maybe it was once a privilege afforded to white males only, but people of color and women fought hard for their RIGHT to vote.

Evangelical Movement Touts 'Jesus For President'PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (CNN) -- They're spiritual misfits. Rabble-rousers. They packed the shell of the old Baptist church on Negley Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to hear author, Christian activist and fellow misfit Shane Claiborne stump on the campaign for a third party candidate, Jesus. The dreadlocked Christian activist from Philadelphia and his team parked a black school bus around the back. The hand-painted gold letters on the side read "Jesus for President." The bus runs on vegetable oil and, yes, it's a political statement. "It'll be a long time before we fight a war over used veggie oil," says Claiborne with a sly smile. Claiborne is touring the country, packing churches and community centers, in support of the book he and Chris Haw co-authored, "Jesus for President." "This whole project is about the political imagination of what it means to follow after Jesus," Claiborne said. "The language of Jesus as Lord and savior is just as radical as it would be to say 'Jesus as our commander in chief' today."Related: Evangelist Bill Keller: 'Write in the Name of Jesus for President'

They are legitimate, Constitutional methods to eliminate actual voter fraud.

The usual whiny bulls***Isn't it just typical that the person who's told endless lies and dishonest smears about conservative public figures would whine endlessly when someone corrects her lies? Those figures weren't here to defend themselves. You are.But you lack the courage to even make an attempt to defend your opinions and lack the integrity to admit they were actually lies.Don't mess with the Head Ball Breaker if you'd like to keep your testicles intact.Sad that that turns out to be a lie, too.

The 1920's were a time of prosperity, moonbat, until Progressive Herbert Hoover was elected and followed destructive leftist policies. The 1980's were when Ronald Reagan was in office, greatest president of the 20th Century. Gosh, who'd want to emulate him.And heck, who'd want to go back to low illegitimacy rates, low crime rates, little drug use and social peace? Not moonbats. The 1920s represented unhindered capitalism, the glorification of wealth, the development of a privileged financial aristocracy, and the greatest crash of the capitalist system. Not exactly sure you would want to portray your own system in such light. Not that I think you'll surrender your stupidity regarding Greece and Spain as "left wing," but I do find it quite ironic. The "progressive" Herbert Hoover used the military's cavalry to destroy the Bonus March by World War I veterans who demanded their benefits. Additionally, when Hoover began office, the poverty rate was more than 40%, and he did not pass any legislation to address that. The 1950s represented an era of social repression, a higher rate of birth out of wedlock (not that I care about the moral implications, only the economic ones, since I'm not using 13th century morality as a construct unlike you far-right fascists), and domestic abuse than the 1960s.The 1980s were obviously horrid - the working class made almost no gains in income or wealth. "Communism" meant a classless, stateless society whereby all means of production are owned in common. Nowadays, "communism" means a state bureaucracy running the country and dictating its economic policies. And, like all the lemmings in the mainstream, you swallow that hook, line, and sinker. I believe that's a concept that will escape your grasp for all eternity. Edited by Avenger_of_Justice, 27 October 2012 - 06:01 PM.

In April of 2010, recognizing the extraordinary miscarriage of justice and horrifying stories of families being split apart while fathers, mothers, husbands and wives were barred from visiting one another in the hospital, Barack Obama signed an Executive Order stating that any hospital which receives government funding (including Medicare and Medicaid) shall recognize the relationships between gays and lesbians. This was a simple move. There are truly very few Americans who believe any couple should be separated in their hours of need. But according to his advisers, Romney believes and will fight to make sure if (God forbid) I should need to visit my husband in the hospital, that my legal relationship is not recognized by hospital administration. How cruel can a person be to leave a person potentially dying alone while their husband, wife, son or daughter sits in a sterile waiting room to hear their loved one has passed? And what kind of leader would support this kind of barbaric sentiment?Talk About EqualityRomney To End Hospital Visitation Rights For Same Sex PartnersThis week the Romney Campaign confirmed it would let States decide whether to allow visitation from same-sex partners for hospital visits, citing the Tenth Amendment all the while completely ignoring the Fourteenth Amendment. According to Bay Buchanan, a Romney adviser: Governor Romney supports a federal marriage amendment to the Constitution that defines marriage as an institution between a man and a woman. Governor Romney also believes, consistent with the 10th Amendment, that it should be left to states to decide whether to grant same-sex couples certain benefits, such as hospital visitation rights and the ability to adopt children. I referred to the Tenth Amendment only when speaking about these kinds of benefits not marriage. So Mitt Romney wants to have a limited government and allow states to make up their own mind to handle state issues but needs a federal amendment to make good on some pledges he signed while running for the nomination. Basically shooting the bird to all the states that have already allowed same-sex marriage including the very state he was Governor. After all, he has a special interest groups helping him write his check to become President. So he is selling some magic beans of limited government and states rights to John and Jane Q. Public. This is why I think most Republicans and pretty much every member of the Tea Party are a joke because these people claim they are all about the Constitution but where were they when Bush suspended Habeas corpus? Republicans scream to the top of their lungs about states rights, yet they lean on DOMA for life support to keep the evil gay marriage out of their neighborhood. Barack Obama has gone out of his way to support the LGBT community which was not limited to signing an executive order in April 2010 that all hospitals receiving government funding be required to recognize gay and lesbians. The callous act of even threatening to suspend this executive order is exactly why we do not need a Romney Administration anywhere near the White House.I am overwhelmed by Romney's compassion.

The Voter-Fraud Myth - The Man Who Has Stoked Fear About Impostors At The Polls.[...]True the Vote, which was founded in 2009 and is based in Houston, describes itself as a nonprofit organization, created by citizens for citizens, that aims to protect the rights of legitimate voters, regardless of their political party. Although the group has a spontaneous grassroots aura, it was founded by a local Tea Party activist, Catherine Engelbrecht, and from the start it has received guidance from intensely partisan election lawyers and political operatives, who have spent years stoking fear about election fraud. This cohortwhich Roll Call has called the voter fraud brain trusthas filed lawsuits, released studies, testified before Congress, and written op-ed columns and books. Since 2011, the effort has spurred legislative initiatives in thirty-seven states to require photo identification to vote. Engelbrecht has received especially valuable counsel from one member of the group: Hans von Spakovsky. A Republican lawyer who served in the Bush Administration, he is now a senior legal fellow at the Heritage Foundation, the conservative think tank. Hans is very, very helpful, Engelbrecht said. Hes one of the senior advisers on our advisory council. Von Spakovsky, who frequently appears on Fox News, is the co-author, with the columnist John Fund, of the recent book Whos Counting?, which argues that America is facing an electoral-security crisis. Election fraud, whether its phony voter registrations, illegal absentee ballots, vote-buying, shady recounts, or old-fashioned ballot-box stuffing, can be found in every part of the United States, they write. The book connects these modern threats with sordid episodes from the American past: crooked inner-city machines, corrupt black bosses in the Deep South. Von Spakovsky and Fund conclude that electoral fraud is a spreading danger, and declare that True the Vote serves an obvious need. Mainstream election experts say that Spakovsky has had an improbably large impact. Richard L. Hasen, a law professor at the University of California at Irvine, and the author of a recent book, The Voting Wars, says, Before 2000, there were some rumblings about Democratic voter fraud, but it really wasnt part of the main discourse. But thanks to von Spakovsky and the flame-fanning of a few others, the myth that Democratic voter fraud is common, and that it helps Democrats win elections, has become part of the Republican orthodoxy. In December, Reince Priebus, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, wrote, Election fraud is a real and persistent threat to our electoral system. He accused Democrats of standing up for potential fraudpresumably because ending it would disenfranchise at least two of its core constituencies: the deceased and double-voters. Hasen believes that Democrats, for their part, have made exaggerated claims about the number of voters who may be disenfranchised by Republican election-security measures. But he regards the conservative alarmists as more successful. Their job is really done, Hasen says. Its common now to assert that there is a need for voter I.D.s, even without any evidence. [...]Richard L. Hasen (a law professor at the University of California at Irvine, and the author of a recent book 'The Voting Wars') says that while researching 'The Voting Wars', he tried to find a single case since 1980 when an election outcome could plausibly have turned on voter-impersonation fraud. He couldnt find one. News21, an investigative-journalism group, has reported that voter impersonation at the polls is a virtually non-existent problem. After conducting an exhaustive analysis of election-crime prosecutions since 2000, it identified only seven convictions for impersonation fraud. None of those cases involved conspiracy. Lorraine Minnite, a public-policy professor at Rutgers, collated decades of electoral data for her 2010 book, The Myth of Voter Fraud, and came up with some striking statistics. In 2005, for example, the federal government charged many more Americans with violating migratory-bird statutes than with perpetrating election fraud, which has long been a felony. She told me, It makes no sense for individual voters to impersonate someone. Its like committing a felony at the police station, with virtually no chance of affecting the election outcome. A report by the Times in 2007 also found election fraud to be rare. During the Bush Administration, the Justice Department initiated a five-year crackdown on voter fraud, but only eighty-six people were convicted of any kind of election crime.Hasen, who calls von Spakovsky a leading member of the Fraudulent Fraud Squad, told me that he respects many other conservative advocates in his area of expertise, but dismisses scholars who allege widespread voter-impersonation fraud. I see them as foot soldiers in the Republican army, he says. Its just a way to excite the base. They are hucksters. Theyre providing fake scholarly support. Theyre not playing fairly with the facts. And I think they know it. Read more http://www.newyorker...r#ixzz2AbrYM3PjHans Von Spakovsky's Rebuttal - National Review Online

The Voter-Fraud Myth - The Man Who Has Stoked Fear About Impostors At The Polls.Hans Von Spakovsky's Rebuttal - National Review OnlineWell at least you presented an opposing opinion. The following is timely, given that Democrat Congressman Jim Moran's son just quit after getting caught on video giving advice on how to commit voter fraud by getting fake utility bills. And at least two Obama campaign officials were caught on video supporting multiple voting, though no one was fired. The Obama-fawning liberal MSM could have gotten that kind of evidence many, many, many times, but they avert their eyes to Democrat wrongdoing. The Impact of Ohios Absentee Ballots, Part 2: Voter FraudBy Robert AltOctober 27, 2012 5:37 P.M.Ohio sent unsolicited absentee-ballot applications to all seven million registered voters this year, and received back the absentee-ballot applications from over 20 percent of those would-be voters. As Roger previously noted, this could lead to delays in final election tallies if those who requested absentee ballots show up to vote in person and are given a provisional ballot. Election officials would then need to verify whether these individuals also voted using their absentee ballots before counting the provisional ballot a process that could take many days. But there is another issue that could arise from the widespread use of absentee ballots: fraud. Three individuals have already been indicted in Franklin County (Columbus area) for voting more than once using absentee ballots. This should come as little surprise: absentee ballots have long been recognized as the tool of choice for those engaging in voter fraud.Add to this the relatively weak voter ID laws in place in Ohio (you can vote using a utility statement), and the relative ease of obtaining an absentee ballot (or two, or more, apparently), and concerns already have been raised about potential voter fraud including non-citizens voting. There have already been serious concerns raised about the accuracy of Ohios voter rolls. In 2008, for example, Hans von Spakovsky and John Fund report in their book, Whos Counting?, that the prior secretary of state failed to investigate the accuracy of 200,000 new voter registration applications which did not match the information in other Ohio agency databases (this despite the fact that the Help America Vote Act requires states to coordinate their voter registration lists with other agency databases to assure accuracy). When elections are close, there is an incentive to engage in voter fraud, because even a few votes can then impact the outcome of the election. Unless there is a last minute tsunami one way or the other, Ohios poll numbers suggest that the margin of victory could be razor thin. The question is whether it will exceed the margin of potential fraud, or the subsequent margin of litigation.http://www.nationalr...ttleground-ohio

Just when you think Clem can't sink any lower, he does....what are the chances a President Romney and the new Repub Congress will bail out your precious Post Office pension?Well Puss, since Congressional pensions are paid from the same fund, I'd say they have an interest in keeping that fund solvent. It's so nice to know that you would actually like to see my husband and I lose the pensions that we worked for and paid into for a combined total of 60 years.I would never wish that on anyone, but then I'd expect no less from you.Jesus H.
