In a survey distributed by the Ron Paul group, Campaign for Liberty, question five was, will you support legislation to nullify Obamacare and authorize state and local law enforcement to arrest federal officials attempting to implement the unconstitutional health care scheme known as Obamacare?

Joni Ernst answered yes to that question.

She's pandering to her racist base. Considering the number of racists in Iowa, it's not an altogether bad ploy.

In some conservative circles, Joni has given the correct answer.

There's a big problem in the US. Joni is part of it, as is her base. She will probably get elected, take a private jet to DC and spout off an array of similar nonsense while she votes on bills to put more middle class money in the pockets of her wealthy contributors. And so it goes.

That is not how the IUD works.

There are two types of IUDs, the copper and the hormonal known as the Mirena.
Both types of IUDs work primarily by preventing sperm from fertilizing an egg.
The copper IUD releases copper into the uterus, which works as a spermicide.
The Mirena releases a form of the hormone (progestin) into the uterus.
Hormonal IUDs may prevent the egg from leaving the ovary. Pregnancy cannot happen if there is no egg to join with sperm.
Progestin also prevents pregnancy by thickening a woman's cervical mucus. The mucus blocks sperm and keeps it from joining with an egg.

So they do not prevent a fertilized egg from 'impacting' in the uterus.
The only thing they 'impact' is the sperm by preventing it from fertilizing an ovum.
These far right pinheads would have you believe that any woman who uses the IUD is a walking abortion clinic having abortions all the
time.

Good luck selling this diversionary swill this year in the fact of Obama's and Dems' obvious failures.

I have been watching this race closely, as I am convinced the other Iowa senator (chuck grasshole) is spawned from hell itself

joni in a way reminds me of mitt romney ....she will commit to no position whatsoever
she says balance budgets and the typical politician handjob but will give no details on how to do it.
also she recently canceled interviews with 3 or 4 iowa papers (the des moines register among them)...the question dodging (just like romney) has completely turned me off

I don't trust Braley either, however he has committed to several positions (some of which I disagree with) and how he would continue to vote in the future
my biggest problem with braley is he's currently a sitting member of congress and I am certain every one of them should be fired!

the other options are:

bob quast who calls himself independent but reeks of teabaggerdom
rick stewart who describes himself as "I am a libertarian redistributionist, running for office to crack open the Republican/Democratic duopoly" (whatever the **** that means )
Douglas Butzier
who is currently no longer alive....seriously! he is dead but will still be on the ballot this year

All three papers have now endorsed her opponent.

Why does she think that she doesn't have to answer questions on her positions?

The Des Moines Register has a history of endorsing both Democratic and Republican candidates.
In 2012, they endorsed Mitt Romney.
Last week they endorsed Republican David Young over Democrat Staci Appel for Congress in Iowa's third congressional district.
They even endorsed Joni Ernst herself in the primary.

Candidates always sit down with the editorial board of the Register.
She is running from her extreme positions.
