Anti-Gay Activists Attack Rob Portman's Son's 'Disorder' and 'Abhorrent Lifestyle'Last week, Ohio Sen. Rob Portman announced that, inspired by his son's coming out, he now supports marriage equality. Religious Right activists are, of course, responding with a characteristic lack of tact and grace.Liberty Counsels Matt Barber, for example, denounced Portman for trying to "accommodate his son's abhorrent lifestyle."......"... Perhaps (the senator's) love for his son has deceived him in not being able to differentiate between loving his son and helping his son to do the right thing, versus changing his entire worldview and his view of the natural institution of legitimate marriage in order to accommodate his son's abhorrent lifestyle," says Barber.Portman told reporters his previous views on marriage were rooted in his Methodist faith and his change of heart came because of "the Bible's overarching themes of love and compassion." Barber challenges that interpretation."This provides us a perfect example of the danger of looking at things through the jaundiced prism of our own feelings rather than on objective truths," says the Liberty Counsel attorney.WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah wondered how Portman would respond if his son came out as a serial killer:............I've heard some wacky excuses by politicians for changing their minds on some of the most important moral issues facing American, but Ohio Sen. Rob Portmans rationale for flip-flopping on same-sex marriage takes the proverbial wedding cake.In case you haven't heard, his son is a homosexual."I have come to believe that if two people are prepared to make a lifetime commitment to love and care for each other in good times and in bad, the government shouldn't deny them the opportunity to get married," Portman wrote in a commentary published Friday in the Columbus Dispatch.I guess we should all be grateful Rob Portman's son didn't choose to become a polygamist or a serial killer......People like Todd Akin and Steve King don't represent a threat to the future of the Republican Party. People like Rob Portman and Karl Rove represent a clear and present danger to its future. What they are pushing is not liberty, it is licentiousness. What they are pushing is not morality, it is moral relativism. What they are pushing is not the kind of virtue and personal responsibility that makes self-government possible, it is the kind of pop-culture immorality that makes self-government impossible.Ohio-based activist Linda Harvey, president of Mission America, lamented Portman's decision to support his "rebellious" son's "disorder" and "delusion":............It's not that I can't empathize with the position his son has put him in. Every parent hopes never to face a rebellious child. But Portman has decided not to call this rebellion. Whether it was pressure from his wife or some kind of ultimatum by his son, Portman now issues editorial statements that ring with "gay marriage" advocacy. What a slam on Ohio families! He opines about "civil marriage rights" as if they don't exist now. These unions will be a stabilizing force bringing "renewed strength" to the institution, he thinks - but Portman is either woefully uninformed or deliberately ignores the mounting evidence against these lifestyles and the political militancy they are unleashing. There is no excuse for a sitting senator to jump on board a movement that viciously targets challengers, forces indoctrination of children in taxpayer-funded schools and bullies the corporate culture as well as the Boy Scouts into bowing before its altar of deviance. And it's so unnecessary. Every person out there who claims a "gay" identity has the ability to get married in Ohio or anywhere else now. He or she can marry someone of the opposite sex, because that's what marriage is and because a "gay" identity is a delusion. Two men, no matter how sincere they feel, or two women, will never be a marriage. The person who believes this disorder is "who he is," as apparently Portman's son does, has tragically internalized a lie.......The deception of the culture is easy to accommodate if your principles are weak at the core. Homosexual feelings may seem unchosen, but we do have a choice about what fantasies and desires we nurture and feed. And we always have a choice about public identity and behavior. His son needs to hear the hope of change and the stories of the thousands of former homosexuals in this country. But his father is apparently not going to tell him. How sad!All I can say is WOW!

Here are just a few of the claims Democrats made, not one of whom you've accused of lying. I will leave aside what was said in the 90's as it is irrelevant to the invasion in 2003. Irrelevant? What, you think events and history begin the day Bush took office? Nice try at trying to airbrush key facts out of the debate, liar. Saddam Hussein had a decades-long history of developing, using and trying to develop more sophisticated and new WMDs. Try to airbrush that out of the debate. To the extent that these people believed what they were saying, it's because the intelligence was being coaxed, massaged and manipulated by the Bush administration. The standard lie Democrats have told for years. Many key Dems had access to the raw intelligence, and to our intelligence services, which is why they came to the same conclusion as Bush. Yet a dishonest hack like you accuses only Bush & officials.

I "lack any basic decency," the smear artist drools over her keyboard. The legislation is being proposed in Connecticut, moonbat. So where should they lobby, Mongolia? They don't have to make the calls in the city of Newtown do they?In your absolute knee-jerking zeal to disagree with absolutely everything I say, you can't even summon up enough decency or character to admit that it is, at the very least insensitive, and at the most downright callous, for the NRA to be making these robocalls in a city that suffered such an unimaginable horror just a few months ago.Your insides must be rotten with bitterness and hate. Thanks for revealing that you paid scant attention to the quotes, most of which came from after Bush took office.Don't mention it. I always pay scant attention to you.

So much for your assertion that every US intelligence agency agreed that Iraq had WMD.Is Colin Powell a liar too?No, you're the liar, because all Powell said was that there was some doubt inside the agencies, even though the clear consensus in every one was that Iraq had WMDs.There's always some doubt, no matter what the issue, duh.Your insides must be rotten with bitterness and hate.I'd say the person who makes ugly accusations like the following has"insides.....rotten with bitterness and hate."According to Ryan, rape is just another method of conception. You're not a well person, are you.

Some dead Kurds for you Misty... gassed by Saddam Hussein. You gonna deny this? If not then the real question is what did Saddam do with his WMDs? We all know this, too. If you don't then might I suggest a little lite reading in The Mighty Horse Thread? Coupla things, tard. 1. WE gave saddam that gas, AND the green light. 2. That gas goes to hell in a few years - loses its lethality. Still, liar-troll, thank you for playing our game. Consolation penis on your way out, flamer.

We gave Saddam that gas to use on the Iranians so that he could wage a proxy war against Iran in the 80s. Now, thanks to our little invasion, Iraq and Iran have become allies. The US helped Iraq develop its chemical, biological and nuclear weapons programs in the 80's. AndRonald Reagan’s administration turned a blind eye to Saddam's repeated use of chemical weapons against Iranian soldiers and the Kurds in Iraq. Then in the lead up to the invasion of Iraq, Bush 43 cited those same atrocities (which were disregarded at the time) and those same weapons programs (which no longer existed) as a pretext for war.

On Fox News, Amanda Knox Gets Twice As Much Coverage As Marriage EqualityAdvocates and opponents of marriage equality rallied at the steps of the Supreme Court on Tuesday morning, as the nine justices heard arguments about Californias Proposition 8 a 2008 voter-approved initiative that prohibits gay and lesbian couples from marrying. The hearing comes on the heels of growing public support for same-sex marriage and marks the first time the nations highest court considered the issue. But unfortunately, viewers of Fox News may have missed the story. The conservative news network largely ignored the historic hearing for most of the morning, choosing instead to focus on the developments in the Amanda Knox case.A ThinkProgress analysis of Fox programming from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM found that the network devoted more than twice as much time (41 minutes) covering the Italian Supreme Court overturning the acquittal of Knox than it did to the ongoing public protests and hearings going on at home (19 minutes):Fox News has a habit of ignoring pro-LGBT news that does not appeal to the conservative base. For instance, the network downplayed Sen. Rob Portmans (R-OH) embrace of marriage equality, offered slim coverage to the repeal of Dont Ask, Dont Tell, and the passage of New Yorks historic same-sex marriage law.On Wednesday, the Supreme Court will consider the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act, a 1996 law that prevents the federal government from recognizing same-sex unions.*A TV Eyes search of CNN and MSNBC reveals that both networks devoted more coverage to marriage equality than they did to Knox. What you don't see on FOX News is often more interesting than what you do see.

That's utter bulls***, but what else would one expect from a psychotic. And of course little Miss Marxist jumps in to support a good anti-conservative smear. We gave Saddam that gas to use on the Iranians so that he could wage a proxy war against Iran in the 80s. Now, thanks to our little invasion, Iraq and Iran have become allies. No, we did not give Hussein anything. That's just another of countless liberal-left smears of conservatives. Nor are Iraq and Iran "allies." They have common interests, but Iran is more of a threat to Iraq than an ally,. It must be hard, hard work to be that dumb. The US helped Iraq develop its chemical, biological and nuclear weapons programs in the 80's. AndRonald Reagan’s administration turned a blind eye to Saddam's repeated use of chemical weapons against...the Kurds in Iraq. More claptrap from a dishonest smear artist. Is there any Democrat Talking Point Lie you won't spread?

What you don't see on FOX News is often more interesting than what you do see. Gosh, they aren't participating in the liberal MSM's pro-homosexual propaganda campaign? Shocking! Meanwhile, that glorious Obama Economy staggers toward bankruptcy. Even Obama supporter Mort Zuckerman sees through Obama's bulls*** and the MSM's attempts to hide reality. The Great Recession Has Been Followed by the Grand Illusion Don't be fooled by the latest jobs numbers. The unemployment situation in the U.S. is still dire. By MORTIMER ZUCKERMAN The Great Recession is an apt name for America's current stagnation, but the present phase might also be called the Grand Illusion—because the happy talk and statistics that go with it, especially regarding jobs, give a rosier picture than the facts justify. The country isn't really advancing. By comparison with earlier recessions, it is going backward. Despite the most stimulative fiscal policy in American history and a trillion-dollar expansion to the money supply, the economy over the last three years has been declining. After 2.4% annual growth rates in gross domestic product in 2010 and 2011, the economy slowed to 1.5% growth in 2012. Cumulative growth for the past 12 quarters was just 6.3%, the slowest of all 11 recessions since World War II..... February's headline unemployment rate was portrayed as 7.7%, down from 7.9% in January. The dip was accompanied by huzzahs in the news media claiming the improvement to be "outstanding" and "amazing." But if you account for the people who are excluded from that number—such as "discouraged workers" no longer looking for a job, involuntary part-time workers and others who are "marginally attached" to the labor force—then the real unemployment rate is somewhere between 14% and 15%. Other numbers reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics have deteriorated. The 236,000 net new jobs added to the economy in February is misleading—the gross number of new jobs included 340,000 in the part-time, low wage category. Many of the so-called net new jobs are second or third jobs going to people who are already working, rather than going to those who are unemployed. The number of Americans unemployed for six months or longer went up by 89,000 in February to a total of 4.8 million. The average duration of unemployment rose to 36.9 weeks, up from 35.3 weeks in January. The labor-force participation rate, which measures the percentage of working-age people in the workforce, also dropped to 63.5%, the lowest in 30 years. The average workweek is a low 34.5 hours thanks to employers shortening workers' hours or asking employees to take unpaid leave. Since World War II, it has typically taken 24 months to reach a new peak in employment after the onset of a recession. Yet the country is more than 60 months away from its previous high in 2007, and the economy is still down 3.2 million jobs from that year. http://online.wsj.co...Opinion_LEADTop And as usual, moonbats will run from reality in terror.

according to wretchedclump, if you don't like the economic system, you can build a home out in the woods, go hunt for your food in the wild, etc. he literally said that , when i pointed out all the toxic chemicals in our food by industrial manufacturers, the use of pesticides as encouraged by Monsanto, etc. i swear, where do all these imbeciles pop out from? some kind of invisible reverse vacuum? the fact of the matter is The 1970- 1979 expansion was weaker than the Kennedy-Johnson expansion The 1980 - 1989 expansion was weaker than the 1970s expansion The 1990 - 1999 expansion was weaker than the 1980s expansion (the stock market bubble was an illusion of growth; people putting their money into stocks, bonds, and equity doesn't count as actual invesment nor consumption) The 2000 - 2009 expansion was weaker than the 1990s expansion There's a good chance the 2010 - 2019 expansion is going to be weaker than the 2000s expansion etc. then again considering the WSJ editors' c0cks are in WretchedClump's mouth, he would never read an actual economic piece to educate himself to cure the blatant ignorance

Controls were far more lax at the time, and Hussein bought it all clandestinely. The United States exported support for Iraq during the Iran–Iraq war over $500 million worth of dual use exports to Iraq that were approved by the Commerce department. Among them were advanced computers, some of which were used in Iraq's nuclear program.[32] The non-profit American Type Culture Collection and the Centers for Disease Control sold or sent biological samples of anthrax, West Nile virus and botulism to Iraq up until 1989, which Iraq claimed it needed for medical research. A number of these materials were used for Iraq's biological weapons research program, while others were used for vaccine development.[33] For example, the Iraqi military settled on the American Type Culture Collection strain 14578 as the exclusive anthrax strain for use as a biological weapon, according to Charles Duelfer.[34]http://en.wikipedia....***_destructionYou can also pick up your own mail, and your neighbor's mail.
