Did our Greatest Generation need to have a minimum wage...?
Well it was established in 1938 that big, powerful businesses should  [and could] afford to pay a minimum.
No mandate had yet been set for small businesses.

Most employers were paying over minimum long before Corona. Many still are. That shows business knows better than bureaucrats.

Hard to rescind statutes. Most people think about adding statutes rather than repealing them.

Literally no employer in my areas pays minimum wage, and hasn't for some time. Federal minimum wage is $7.25

Pre Covid, Kroger was hiring full/part time front end clerks for $13.50 an hour and cashiers for $15 an hour. The only difference between full and part time was the benefits package. Now it's $15 and $18 to START respectively... and they STILL can't get enough people.

The local Chick-fil-A starts at $18 and goes up to $22 an hour depending on experience.

Have you taken a poll of the illegal aliens to see what wages they've been paid?  The hispanics that smuggle them in and get them jobs make sure they are not making minimum wage.  So, while legit companies have to pay the Democrat Extortion Wage, Mexicans and Illegals get away with avoiding any wage and hour laws.

It's been around for decades, so do you really think it will be abolished?

Revamping them considerably is in order at the very least.
Perhaps burger-flipping should still be considered the job of an unskilled, low-wage, temp as opposed to a sending-my-four-children-to-college type of job.

A deep dive into the impact and ripple effect needs to be done in a logical, unbiased manner.

Bammycare **** up the industry it was meant to save with a months-long scan of the "perfect solution".
Surely a serious look for this stupid and contradictory set of minimum wage regs is in order.
