it's actually quite good...a staple when kids were young...Mac and cheese with SPAM...now it's good with eggs...omelette...

OK, IT IS PRETTY NASTY.
MY MISTAKE THOUGH. NOT EVERYONE WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO EAT FRESH MEATS. MAYBE I SHOULD CONSIDER MYSELF FORTUNATE? I GREW UP MIDDLE CLASS BUT OTHER MIDDLE-CLASS FAMILIES STILL ATE BETTER THAN WE DID.
I EXPECT TO SEE MORE PEOPLE EATING SPAM BUT MADE WITH INSECTS THE NEXT DECADE AS THE ADMINISTRATION IS DESTROYING THE MANUFACTURERS OF FOOD SOURCES.

AS A KID NONE OF MY FRIENDS LIKED IT OR EVEN ATE IT. MAC AND CHEESE, YES.
WE ATE A LOT OF CHICKEN AS IT WAS CHEAP IN THE 60'S. ONCE A WEEK FISH OR BEEF AS THOSE ITEMS WERE A BIT MORE EXPENSIVE.

I remember buying chicken wings for .29 a pound when I had my first apartment. Now the damn things are on "sale" for 4.99 a pound, if you can find them.
We had a huge chicken processing plant in my hometown so the yard bird we got was typically still clucking just a day or two beforehand.
